When you're readying up in the lobbies this weekend and waiting for your squad to join you, make sure you don't miss out on a free cosmetic item! Courtesy of Epic Games, Fortnite: Battle Royale fans can enjoy a free Back Bling (Backpack cosmetics) item known as the Rust Bucket. The Rust Bucket is a less-than-stylish, yet playful and colorful backpack that looks like something you`d see out of a B-movie Ghostbusters remake. This free item comes right after Fortnite servers experienced serious issues and downtime over the past week. Epic Games formally issued the following statement on their website on April 13th:
We messed up here. As thanks for being awesome and patient, we’re doing the following:
- For Battle Royale players, this weekend we’ll be offering a Back Bling gift that you can pick up in the store for free.
- For our Save the World folks, this weekend we will be offering a Troll Stash Llama in the loot tab for free

Furthermore, Epic Games stated that they'd be giving Fortnite: Battle Royale players a pack of Battle Stars and Seasonal Gold to Save The World players this coming week, so stay tuned for that update next week and be sure not to miss out on the Rust Bucket in the item shop this weekend!
