Recently Fortnite Battle Royale players were shocked to see rapper Drake alongside Travis Scott streaming the game with well known player Tyler "Ninja" Blevins. Watch numbers for the stream skyrocketed to nearly 635,000 concurrent viewers watching the matches take place. Epic Games has decided to capitalize on this and has created a tournament involving celebrity players at this year's E3 event.
The tournament, named Fortnite Party Royale, will include 50 celebrity players and 50 professional players facing off. The developers are currently building the teams now. They also plan on releasing more information on the tournament and their first season of competitive play soon. No celebrity names have been given as of yet.
This new tournament alongside recent celebrity streams and updates has been giving even more evidence to the fact of how truly impressive and popular Fortnite is. The game clearly has a bright future in the competitive gaming scene.
