Fortnite‘s first significant update of Chapter 3 Season 4 has arrived, bringing about a new weapon, Holo-Chests, Enlightened Styles, and some other unexpected changes. While most of what the v22.10 update has in-store isn’t too ground-breaking, some of its new content is sure to turn a few heads. Here is everything new in Fortnite‘s v22.10 update.

Cobra DMR
The Cobra DMR is a new semi-automatic assault rifle added to Fortnite and has replaced the now-vaulted DMR. The Cobra DMR features an ACOG Scope that provides more peripheral vision on either side of the sight, whilst the gun itself has a much faster fire rate that its vaulted counterpart. This gun is a formidable weapon for mid to long-range combat, but ensure you lead your shots for moving opponents.

Holo-Chests
Players now have a second use for their keys in Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 4 now with the inclusion of Holo-Chests, which can be found scattered around the island. Holo-Chests provide a holographic view of what item they contain inside and will require a single key to open. However, if you happened to find a two-key Holo-Chest, then you can receive an exotic-tier weapon. Holo-Chests tend to hold weapons of epic and legendary rarity, so keep on the lookout as they can be a sure-fire way for obtaining some high-tier loot.

Enlightened Styles
This season’s Enlightened Styles have been revealed in this update and will make their debut Thursday, October 6 for players to unlock. Also known as Super Styles, the Enlightened Styles are bonus rewards that are earned for progressing past Level 100 of the Battlepass. This news will be great for the hardcore grinders who have already made it to the Bonus Rewards section of the Battlepass.

Grapple Glove Unvaulted
The popular mobility item known as the Grapple Glove has now been unvaulted, allowing players to swing their way across the Fortnite Island. The Grapple Glove was first introduced in Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 3 and functioned much like the Web Shooter Mythic item from the season prior.Â

New Locations
New locations have also been added to Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 4, many of which are previously existing areas of the map altered by Chrome. Head over to Chrome Crossroads or Flutter Barn to increase your chances of finding the EvoChrome weapons, or land at Grim Gables and navigate its creepy crop fields to find hidden chests.

Updated Vault Locations
Existing vault locations have been altered, and new ones have also been added. Here are the updated vault locations for Fortnite v22.10:
- The Driftwood Vault: The Driftwood has now migrated from Lustrous Lagoon and can be found northwest of Flutter Barn
- No Sweat Insurance Vault: The No Sweat Insurance Building is no longer in Tilted Towers and has moved to Chrome Crossroads
- The Flairship: Once found at Rave Cave, The Fairship can now be found at Grim Gables
- New High-Security Vaults: Additional vaults can be found at Flutter Barn and Chrome Crossroads

Boogie Bombs Vaulted
To the despair of many fans, the Boogie Bomb has now been vaulted meaning that players can no longer find them around the island. This throwable item is a fan-favorite and made its debut back in Chapter 1. Unfortunately, players can no longer force their opponents to dance with the removal of this item.

Bytes’ Dark Bargains Quests
New quests for Battlepass owners have been made available. Upon completion, these quest award players with alternative styles for The Nothing’s Gift, a pickaxe belonging to Byte. These quests can be completed by anyone who owns the Battlepass, but you need to have the Byte skin equipped to complete them.
