Fishing is everybody’s favorite activity, right? Well, maybe not, but you can go fishing in Fortnite Chapter 2 to catch fish and guns. You can catch four different types of fish, and three of those will replenish health, shield, or both when eaten. The game’s Mythic Goldfish is a weapon you can eliminate hostiles with, but might never catch! Thus, you can pick up lots of handy things by angling at the best fishing spots in Fortnite.
Fishing is an interesting diversion to blasting away other players in Fortnite. To do some good angling, you’ll need to find some decent spots. The best ones in Fortnite have white circles of water that include lots of fish, and they’re also areas on the map where you won’t often get spotted by hostiles while angling. These are some of the best fishing spots in Fortnite Chapter 2.
1. Coral Cove
Coral Cove is a Landmark location at the northwest end of the map that’s within the red circle shown on the map directly below. It’s one of the larger Landmarks in Fortnite that’s more like a peninsula which extends northward. Coral Cove has plenty of sand and sea for fishing. A wooden platform at the northern half of Coral Cove includes fishing rods to pick up, and there’s a boat there. You can also swim to some of the other nearby islands from Cove for more fishing!
Aside from fishing, Coral Cove is also a good spot to pick up gear. It’s a Landmark that’s stuffed with chests. You’ll need to hack away a few of the huts and shacks there to find some of the chests, though.
2. The Island west of Craggy Cliffs
At the far north of the map in grid references D1 and E1, there’s an island just to the west of Craggy Cliffs. That’s one of the safest spots for fishing, as few players go there. You can pick up some fishing rods there, so you don’t need to go anywhere else to find a rod. You can catch some fish from the numerous white water circles around the island. A boat is also conveniently situated there, so you can take a ride on that boat to quickly get in the safe zone after fishing if required.
3. Camp Cod
The appropriately titled Camp Cod is another big Landmark in Fortnite that’s great for fishing. Camp Cod is a more expansive island on the far south of the map that’s primarily within grid reference G8. The coastline around Camp Cod is teeming with fish to scoop with your rod. You can find some rods on the east side of Camp. Furthermore, you can usually do a bit of undisturbed angling here, as it doesn’t often get that crowded at Cod.
4. The beach in the far south
Directly west of Camp Cod, there’s a relatively small beach with a fishing pier within grid reference E8. It’s a relatively obscure beach on the far south of the map where you can usually fish in peace. The wooden pier on the beach provides fishing rods and a boat. The sea there includes a few white water circles from which you can scoop good fish with.
You’ll also find a few chests on and around that beach. There’s a chest at the pier, one within the red crate on the beach, and another two in the wooden building just above it. So, this beach is a surprisingly good loot spot, too.
5. Slurpy Swamp
Slurpy Swamp is the best named location to catch fish at in Fortnite. The swamp’s water is teeming with all manner of fish (especially Slurp Fish) to catch. The swamp area west of the Slurp factory is a good spot for fishing, as you can fish along the coast as well as further inland. Rods are easy to find on the western side of the factory, where there’s also a boat. Another bonus for angling here is that the swamp’s light blue water (or Slurp Juice) regenerates health and gives you shield.
However, Slurpy Swamp is a slightly more risky fishing spot than the others mentioned here. You will more likely encounter hostiles when fishing in the swamp than at some Landmark locations. I suggest fishing on the go by doing a quick bit of fishing at different parts of Slurpy Swamp instead of standing around the same spot for a long period.
Those are among the best fishing spots in Fortnite where you can catch good fish and gear. Those fishing spots have fertile waters and are reasonably safe areas of the map where you won’t usually get shot at whilst angling.
