Being in early access, Fortnite: Battle Royale has evolved a lot. Therefore the dynamics of gameplay as well as the physical map of the game are continuously changing. With that said, the overall premise of the game remains the same: choose a good drop zone, loot up, and battle to be number one. Today, we'll focus on the first step: choosing a good drop zone. In terms of loot, accesibility, and action, the following are 4 of best places to land in Fortnite.
4. Anarchy Acres
Anarchy Acres, also known simply as Anarchy, boasts a large, wide-open space which makes it easy to spot enemies and defend yourself. As well, the loot isn't bad either. Usually eight or more chests will spawn in this area and on top of that there are bountiful amounts of floor loot scattered in various buildings and structures around the area. For players who don't like a crazy amount of action right away, Anarchy is usually a quieter drop where players can load up and expect an engagement or two.
3. Greasy Grove
Located along the outer edge of them map, players landing in Greasy Grove can rest assured that they won't get flanked. The area is surrounded by woods which makes farming for wood quick and easy. Furthermore, the area is loaded with loot and players can expect approximately ten or more chests to spawn in this area every time. The action in Greasy Grove is moderate. Usually, two to three squads maximum will land in this area, giving players a nice warmup engagement early on in the match.
2. Retail Row – Shops Side
One of my favorite places to land in Fortnite is none other than Retail Row, and specifically the shops side of the area. Retail Row is one of the largest drop zones in the game. Therefore, players can expect at least 10 or more chests to spawn in the area every time. As well, there is a lot of floor loot. Also there is a good amount of cars, trees, and pallets on the shops side of Retail Row that provide players with a sizeable amount of building materials early on in the match. The open parking area in the shops side of Retail Row provides a large open space with little to no blindspots making it easy to see incoming enemies from the houses side of Retail Row. Lastly, the area's allure attracts players and usually 2-4 squads will land in the area each match, providing players with a hot drop.
1. Pleasant Park
One of the most popular drops on the map, Pleasant Park boasts easily 12 or more chests guaranteed every match. The area is wide-open and flat making it easy to see enemies that landed with you. Furthermore, the area is surrounded by trees to farm so it's easy to get materials after looting the area. Most importantly, being a hot drop, Pleasant Park will normally have at least 2-4 squads landing in it each match. For players looking for lots of loot and quick engagements right away, Pleasant Park is the place to be.
