With the Fortnite map changing constantly and Epic Games updating the game multiple times a year, the Fortnite meta is also evolving constantly. Along with the game meta, new areas added to the map or changes made to existing areas can drastically affect the popularity of certain drop zones.
In terms of loot, material availability, ease-of-rotation, and popularity, we have comprised a list of our top 5 best places to land in Fortnite during season 10.
1. Pandora*
With the recent update to the desert quadrant of the Fortnite map, a new section titled Pandora has been added. The area comes out of a crossover with the popular post-apocalyptic game series Borderlands and is a great drop for a few reasons. Firstly, every player within the bubble of Pandora will have auto-regenerated shields constantly. This means that if you get shot, you can simply hide until your shield gets back to full.
Because of this, you know that you can’t eliminate players with one shot and have to plan accordingly. Furthermore, there is always more than enough loot for one full squad of four players. There is also a close vending machine spawn between Pandora and Lucky Landing next to the large soda can statue. If the battle bus flight path comes through Pandora, it is usually a hot drop and a good place to land if you want action right off the bat.
*Note: due to a recent update this area is no longer available
2. Paradise Palms
Paradise Palms continues to be my favorite landing spot for a few reasons:
- There are 4 vending machine spawns
- There are multiple rift spawns
- Multiple high-ground drop locations surround the area
- Plenty of loot for squads
- Plenty of materials to farm
- Often a hot drop
The numerous high ground locations (mountains, John Wick’s house, the apartments, etc.) allow for a variety of plausible drop zones if you get beat to your initial drop zone. Furthermore, since Paradise Palms is very close to Pandora, you can hover in the Pandora bubble until your shield is full before heading into Paradise Palms.
Tip: Try beating people to the top of the apartments so that you can get a clear view of all of Paradise. Especially when multiple squads are fighting down below, it’s easy to rain shots down with 1st shot accuracy on controller.
3. Pleasant Park
Since the first time I started playing Fortnite, Pleasant Park has always been a favorite drop of mine.
Pleasant Park Highlights:
- 2 vending machine spawns
- Easy bail out options
- Lots of materials
- Plenty of chest spawns
- Hot drop
Pleasant Park has a lot of loot for squads including two vending machine spawns. Furthermore, there are rift spawns near the metal burger head a little to the east of the area. With a ton of fences and trees to farm for quick materials, Pleasant Park is a go-to drop zone for a lot of Fortnite players. In terms of mobility, if the rifts don’t spawn, there are hover boards at the trailer to the east just before the metal burger head hill. In season 10, players can use the hover boards to quickly get to Loot Lake and use the permanent giant rift to rotate to the next zone.
4. Tilted Town*
One of the craziest updates Epic Games has ever done is get rid of Tilted Towers. When they changed it to Neo Tilted, most players didn’t really take to the area and the majority of streamers opted for new go-to drop zones.
Tilted Town Highlights:
- Hot drop
- High-paced action
- Vaulted Guns
- No Building
However, Tilted Town has become a favorite drop for streamers like Nickmercs who enjoy fast-paced gun fights over build battles. In Tilted Town, players cannot build or destroy anything. Basically, within Tilted Town Fortnite becomes a standard battle royale like PubG where aim and positioning rule over building ability. This comes in handy when fighting mechs (B.R.U.T.E.s) that can destroy structures instantly. In Tilted Town mechs are powerless and can be survived by just hiding in a building.
One of the best things about Tilted Town is that sometimes Epic Games has allowed for vaulted weapons like the double barrel shotgun and hunting rifle to spawn there.
*Note: due to a recent update this area is no longer available. It has been replaced by Gotham City in the Batman x Fortnite Crossover
5. Frosty Flights
Most of the places on this list have been hot drops and aimed towards people who like some action at the beginning of the match. When I started playing, I definitely preferred quieter drops where I could get full shield before engaging in fights. Frosty Flights is a quieter drop for beginners or just people who prefer to get kitted out before engaging enemies.
Frosty Flights Highlights:
- More relaxed drop
- Tons of ammo boxes
- Lots of loot and chest spawns
- One vending machine spawn
The area has more than enough loot for a full squad and is surrounded by plenty of trees and stone to farm once exiting the area. There are zip lines to quickly get to Polar Peak or even Viking. For people who prefer a quieter drop, Frosty Flights will usually be empty unless it’s on the direct flight path of the battle bus. Even then, usually just one or two squads land there.
These are out top 5 best places to land in Fortnite for season 10. While this article was written with squad gameplay in mind, the details about each area remain the same regardless of the game type.
