The release of Fortnite Paradise has brought a tonne of changes to the popular battle royale game including new mechanics, additions to the loot pool, and of course a whole host of new points of interest. Of course, a new season would not be complete without some major alterations to the map, something that Epic Games has delivered in epic proportions.
Herald’s Sanctum is the center of attention this season, with this sprawling chrome-filled location leading to the pending alteration of the entire island. But that is just one of the few changes this season. Here is your guide to the new locations in Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 4.
Lazy Lagoon is one of the many Fortnite POIs to have been altered by the Chrome, now turning into Lustrous Lagoon. A pirate ship can be found floating in the center of this area, which carries a tonne of chests and loot. Below the deck of this ship, you can find a secret vault containing more chests, Slurp Barrels, and two supply drops inside – but make sure you have enough keys to unlock it before heading down there. For players who are looking to stock up on the new EvoChrome weapons, then this spot will not disappoint, because most of the chests located on the ground are chromed as well meaning that finding the new shotgun and assault rifle will be a piece of cake.
This secluded area of the map is filled with great looting potential due to the abundance of trees, stone, and wood structures, with the only lacking material being that of metal. Lustrous Lagoon is a great spot to drop at for obtaining high-tier loot, but be cautious as this location is bound to attract a large number of players.
Herald’s Sanctum is the biggest change to the Fortnite island. This location is a sprawling metropolis of chrome temples and towers, and is the best place to locate chrome chests that contain keys and EvoChrome weapons inside. But the highlight of this location has to be the fact that you can shortcut your way to obtaining a Mythic EvoChrome Burst Assault Rifle, if you manage to defeat The Herald that is. The Herald is the new NPC boss within Fortnite and is a tough one to beat, so make sure to stock up on ammunition and heals before taking her on.
Herald’s Sanctum may not be the best place to drop for those looking to max out their building materials, but here you can surely get a decent amount of wood by harvesting the surrounding trees in the area. This location is also sure to attract much of the lobby looking to obtain high-tier loot, so if you are caught in a pinch and need a quick getaway then head to the nearby tornado to instantly launch into the air.
Shimmering Shrine continues the chrome theme of this season and is another location sporting a high amount of chromed chests that contain EvoChrome weapons and potentially keys used to unlock various vaults around the map. This area is quite secluded and attracts much less attention from other players, with Herald’s Sanctum located north of here. One of the best aspects of this location is the harvesting potential, Shimmering Shrine is filled with brick and wooden structures, thus allowing players to quickly stock up on enough building materials to carry them through to mid-game. If you decide to drop to this new POI then watch your back, as stragglers from Herald’s Sanctum may just migrate over to your location.
Cloud Condos appears to be taking to the skies with much of the location now being tethered to some kind of hot air balloon device. Nevertheless, this location sports a tonne of buildings that each contain several chests to be opened, increasing your chances of obtaining high-tier loot whilst also providing you with a great deal of stone and wooden structures to harvest. Although this location is usually swallowed by the storm during the first storm phase, the sheer number of vehicles, the ability to deploy your glider from the balloon, and the inclusion of launchpads allow players to quickly migrate over to the circle in no time.
The Jonesys has gone through some changes with the release of Fortnite Paradise. Fort Jonesy is a location found near Shimmering Shrine, which provides verticality and plenty of cover for early game battles. There is no shortage of chests here, but for those that are looking for the new EvoChrome weapons, you will not find them here as this location is yet to be affected by the Chrome. However, you can still stock up on plenty of weapons, whilst Slurp Barrels provide plenty of healing. With the high number of wooden structures and trees, players that drop at Fort Jonesy are sure to gather enough materials to last them for the majority of the match.
Make sure to explore these new locations to exploit their loot and resources to their fullest, and perhaps stop and admire the chromed-covered sights along your way.
