Today, Epic Games has announced information about their second virtual Fortnite concert series, this time with rapper Travis Scott. There will be multiple concert showtimes between April 23rd through the 25th. Fortnite’s first in-game concert series marked the largest event in the game’s history, with 10 million people logging in to enjoy the performances by DJ Marshmello. Travis Scott’s performances will probably also bring in a comparable number of viewers, as it seems Fortnite’s fanbase enjoyed this new type of virtual entertainment.
How does the tour work? Epic Games explained how the event works earlier on their site via a news announcment. Basically, players will need to get in the game about 30 minutes prior to start time to enter the virtual waiting room. As Fortnite is completely free, there are also no fees to get into the waiting room for the concert. Epic games did not give a number on room capacities, but stated that they might not be able to accommodate everyone. The dates for the Fortnite Travis Scott concerts are shown below:
- Thursday, Apr 23, 2020, 6 PM CDT
- Friday, Apr 24, 2020, 9 AM CDT
- Friday, Apr 24, 2020, 11 PM CDT
- Saturday, Apr 25, 2020, 10 AM CDT
- Saturday, Apr 25, 2020, 5 PM CDT
Travis Scott will be premiering his brand new song, “Astronomical”, for the Fortnite concerts. Players who tune in to any of the concerts will receive exclusive loading screens and an Astronomical-themed glider. There will also be “Astronomical Challenges” that players can complete to get Travis Scott inspired outfits and items. Some of the items will be available starting April 21st.
