Popular action packed battle royale Fortnite had not updated its mobile version of the game in a few years. This is due to Epic Games’s authorized disputes with Apple and Google, which led to the removal of the game from their mobile storefronts in August of 2020. Because of this, Android and iOS users have missed out on a ton of content. Now, mobile players are being hit with a new set of restrictions to limit their enjoyment of the game even further.
We want all versions of our games to use the current suite of Epic Online Services including parental controls, purchasing defaults, and parental verification features. We are not able to update the app on these platforms given Apple and Google’s restrictions on Fortnite. (2/2)

Starting January 30, iOS, Mac, and Google Play users still playing the 13.40 version of the Fortnite app will have to follow a new set of rules.
From that date forward, players will no longer be able to spend V-bucks, and all users must be 18 or older to play. These new adjustments will make Fortnite mobile an adult-only game. This decision seems to be a result of Fortnite’s inability to update their app due to the restrictions placed by Apple and Google for their respective platforms.
However, there may be some hope for iOS users, as the founder and CEO of Epic Games, Tim Sweeney vaguely implied that the game might be returning to the AppStore some time this year.
