Does Fortnite: Battle Royale really need an introduction? No, I thought not, but this pulsating battle royale shoot ’em up has changed considerably since October 2019. Fortnite got a completely new map, which replaced the old one, as the game entered a new Chapter 2 era. Now, Chapter 2 has entered its second season, and for that Epic added five new Agency locations to the map.
Fortnite’s Chapter 2 map still includes a plethora of chests that players can open to stock up on gear. Most of those chests are in obvious places where players will easily spot them. However, the Chapter 2 map also includes some secret chests that are hidden away in spots where few players will discover them. Some hidden Fortnite chests are under sand, under floors, and even under water. These are six of the most secret chest locations in Fortnite: Battle Royale that are worth noting.
1. The Beach at Sweaty Sands
Sweaty Sands is the place to go to catch some some sun, sea, sand, and chests! Go to the beach at Sweaty Sands, then look for a mound of sand with pebbles on it, like the one shown in the snapshot directly below. When you find a mound of sand like that, hack at it with your pickaxe. Swiping at those sand mounds will dig up buried secret chests.
2. Grain Silo at Frenzy Farm
This secret chest location in Fortnite is at Frenzy Farm. First, head to that farm, then look for a couple of steel grain silos on the eastern side of FF. One of those silos includes a secret chest. Build stairs up to the silos’ bases and hack away at them with your pickaxe. You’ll discover a chest in one of them.
The screenshot directly below shows one of the two steel grain silos, which doesn’t include the chest. I’ve already hacked away the other silo to reveal its secret chest. The white arrow on the small map at the top right of that shot highlights the location of the silos at the farm.
3. Secret Basement Chests at Lazy Lake
There are two secret chests in one of the basements at Lazy Lake. First, go in the northern-most building. The white arrow on the small map in the snapshot directly below shows the exact building location.
Go down the stairs of that building to enter its basement, where you’ll find control panels. There you can hack through the wall shown in the snapshot directly above to discover a hidden room that includes two chests. So, combined with the other loot you can find around there, it’s a good spot to grab some gear.
4. The Chest Beneath the Rug!
This is one of the most secret chest locations in Fortnite! To find it, go to the building within the red circle on the map shown directly below. It is the southern-most building on Fortnite’s map.
When you enter that building, you’ll see a bear statue. To the left of that statue, there are a couple of bookshelves. Hack away at the taller bookshelf by the window with your pickaxe. Doing so will reveal stairs to a hidden basement. There you’ll find one chest to open.
However, there’s also another secret chest in that basement. Break away the table in the shot directly below with your pickaxe. Then start hacking at the rug beneath that table, which will break a hole in the floor. You’ll fall into the hole where you can open a very secret chest. Thereafter, you’ll need to build some stairs to climb out of the hole.
5. Secret Beach Chest
This secret chest location in Fortnite is at the small beach in the far south of the game’s map. That beach includes a small fishing pier. It’s also the beach closest to Misty Meadows.
On the eastern side of that beach, you’ll find the crate shown in the snapshot directly below. The white arrow on the small map in that shot highlights the location of the crate. Hack away the small boxes within that crate to reveal a secret chest that’s largely submerged in water.
There aren’t lots of buildings around that chest’s location. However, you can open another chest on the wooden pier at that beach. In addition, at the end of that pier there’s a motor boat with which you can ride to other coastal locations. So, it’s worth heading down there.
6. Chests Atop an Electricity Pylon
Some new Fortnite players might not be aware that you can move across parts of the map with ziplines. The map includes electricity pylons that are connected with zipline cables you can hook up to. One of those electricity pylons includes two secret chests right at the top of it along with another chest on its platform.
To get to those chests, go to the beginning of the electricity pylon zipline on the southern side of Steamy Stacks (shown directly below). When you move below those zip lines, an “Enter Zipline” box will appear with the key you need to press. You’ll usually need to press the default E key to hook up to the zipline, unless you’ve changed the controls.
Thereafter, move along the zipline until you get to the third electricity pylon. You can open a chest on that pylon’s lower platform. To get to the secret chests, you’ll need to build some stairs to climb up from the lower platform. Then go up those stairs and jump from them onto the top of the electricity pylon. There you can open two secret chests on both sides of it. With three chests in total, this is certainly worth noting.
Those are just some of the secret chest locations in Fortnite. There you can usually find chests that haven’t been opened by another player. There are also quite a few more secret chests to discover on Fortnite’s map, but those are among the better ones to go for.
