Ororon Drip Marketing Released for Genshin Impact 5.2

Version 5.1 of Genshin Impact, which is set to add Xilonen, is only a few days away, meaning that a new batch of drip marketing has launches for Version 5.2. Two new characters have been revealed, the first being the exceptional hunter Chasca, and the second being the illusive mystery man Ororon, who is a new Electro unit.

Ororon Drip Marketing Released for Genshin Impact 5.2

With the release of Version 5.1 of Genshin Impact nipping at our heels, the next batch of drip marking for the next major update, Version 5.2, has started rolling out across social media. The first new unit to be revealed was the capable huntress Chasca as a new 5-star Anemo Bow unit. Meanwhile, the second new character is an illusive face we have yet to see take part in the main Natlan Archon Quest and that’s Ororon.

According to his official drip marketing, Ororon is a new Electro unit, the first, but certainly not the last (Iansan), Vision-wielder of that element from Natlan. From his zippers and ripped jeans to his cloak and tattoos, Ororon’s outfit is one of the most obvious examples of Natlan’s favour of a fusion of modern and traditional styles. As for his potential weapon choice, it’s up in the air right now, with the most likely options being a Bow or Catalyst considering his association with the Night-Wind tribe.

Interestingly, while it isn’t shown in his drip marketing, Ororon’s appearance in the Version 5.1 livestream revealed that his Natlan Vision has a silver edge instead of the usual gold edge. This makes it most similar to the Snezhnyan Visions of the Fatui, perhaps acting as another hint towards his true affiliation.

So far, Ororon hasn’t made an official appearance in the Natlan Archon Quest, although many suspect him to be the mysterious figure in cahoots with the Captain at the end of Act 2. As a member of the Night-Wind tribe, Ororon certainly fits the bill, especially because his first appearance was alongside the Fatui Harbinger in the “A Name Forged in Fire” teaser trailer from before Natlan launched. Based on the official Version 5.1 livestream, it appears that he will pop up during Acts 3 and 4 of the main questline.

For the uninitiated, drip marketing is a term used to refer to pieces of promotional material for gacha games. These images are released before a unit’s official reveal and a used to tease their addition, usually a full version in advance so players can adjust their saving plans accordingly. For Hoyoverse titles like Genshin Impact, Zenless Zone Zero, or Honkai: Star Rail, drip marketing goes out just before the release of the previous version.

Ororon, as well as Chasca, will be available to pull in Genshin Impact when Version 5.2 launches in late November or early December. If you’re looking for another Natlan native to pull in the meantime, the highly anticipated Geo unit Xilonen will be available in the first half of Version 5.1 on October 9th.
