Developer miHoYo has announced today that its upcoming open world action RPG Genshin Impact will hold its final closed beta test on July 2. The beta will include a co-op mode that allows fans to play with one another across PlayStation 4, PC, and mobile devices. This will mark the first time the title is playable on a console, as previous betas were held exclusively on PC and mobile devices.
Interested fans may register at the game’s official website.
The beta will give players access to Mondstadt and Liyue – two of the seven major cities in the game – and the open world surrounding each of these metropolises. Fans will be able fight enemies, solves mysteries, and discover treasures while they master the unique combat styles of their four-person team.
KeenGamer had a chance to sit down with Genshin Impact earlier this year during PAX East. While we admit that the title won’t be able to shake its likeness to Breath of the Wild anytime soon, the ability to rotate between four distinct party members on the fly and the variety of elemental combinations the game has to offer may make it a worthwhile in the eyes of the JRPG community.
Genshin Impact releases for PlayStation 4, PC, and mobile devices later this year. A Switch version has also been announced, but a release window has yet to be determined.
