Genshin Impact 5.1 Special Program Overview: Xilonen and The Sabzerus Festival

The Genshin Impact Version 5.1 Special Program just wrapped up, giving Travelers across the world a look at what to expect when the next major Natlan update arrives on October 9th. Not only will it add the next two Acts in the Natlan Archon Quest, but it will also add an exciting new Geo 5-Star with Xilonen as well as several exciting events, including the Sabzerus Festival.

Genshin Impact 5.1 Special Program Overview: Xilonen and The Sabzerus Festival

The second leg of our time in Natlan was just showcased in the Version 5.1 Special Programme for Genshin Impact. While this update may be smaller in size than other large regional updates, it will still be a fantastic new Geo character in Xilonen, the next two Acts of the Natlan Archon Quest, a return to Sumeru to celebrate our first Sabzerus Festival, and more events and goodies to look forward to.

Before going any further, though, here are the three special redemption codes that were handed out during the livestream. Each code will give you 100 Primogems, totalling 300 free Primos, but be sure to enter them fast as they only remain active for 24 hours.

The most exciting thing arriving in Genshin Impact Version 5.1 is Xilonen, a brand new playable 5-star Geo Sword unit. Xilonen is the Champion of the Children of Echoes and is known for her impressive smithing skills and abilities as a Name Engraver. She’s the mastermind behind many of Natlan’s iconic items, including the Pyro Archon’s sunglasses and Kachina’s drill Turbo Twirly, but she pushes for a good work-life balance and regularly takes time off to sunbathe and listen to music.

As a combatant, Xilonen is our first 5-star Geo support character in quite a while. Like all Natlan characters, Xilonen will enter the Nightsoul’s Blessing state upon using her Elemental Skill. At that point, she will summon a pair of Geo rollerblades which drastically increase her mobility and allow her to climb up walls.

Next to her Nightsoul Points bar are three small coloured triangles called Geo Samplers. For each Pyro, Cryo, Hydro, or Electro character in your party, a Geo Sampler will be converted into that corresponding Elemental Type, allowing Xilonen to decrease the corresponding Elemental RES of nearby opponents once you activate the Samplers. Geo Samplers are active by default but, to trigger the other Samplers, you must build and then spend your Nightsoul Points, similar to Kinich. If you have all Geo units in a team with Xilonen, she won’t build up Nightsoul Points with each attack but, instead, deal much higher damage, allowing her to act as a sub-DPS support hybrid in Geo comps.

Xilonen is certainly one of the interesting characters to join Genshin Impact in a very long time and we won’t have to wait long to pull for her as she’s the leading lady of Version 5.1’s first phase. In phase one, Xilonen will star alongside the beautiful Chiori as the featured event Wishes. Then, in phase two, they will be replaced by the Dendro Archon Nahida and the ever-mischievous Hu Tao.

In addition, while Xilonen’s unique Character Wish, “Forgefire’s Blessing”, is still ongoing, a new 5-star Sword will be available from the Weapon Event Wish. Peak Patrol Song is Xilonen’s signature Sword and will drastically increase her potential and capabilities, so consider picking it up if you want your Xilonen to be at her best.

Aside from adding a new character, Version 5.1 of Genshin Impact will continue the main story of Natlan. Act III, Beyond the Smoke and Mirrors, as well as Act IV, The Rainbow Destined to Burn, will both become available for Travelers to complete. Additionally, just like in Version 5.0, Travelers will receive 500 extra Primogems for completing both of these Acts during the duration of Version 5.1.

Speaking of extra Primos, while Version 5.1 will not be adding a new explorable area to Natlan, it will be adding limited-time exploration rewards based on your exploration level of the four regions of Natlan currently in Genshin Impact. By completing World Quests and exploring the region, you’ll steadily earn up to 400 additional Primogems. If you’ve already completed all of the associated tasks in Version 5.0, you can directly claim your reward as soon as Version 5.1 goes live.

Next, let’s take a look at the Genshin Impact Version 5.1 events, starting with the Sabzeruz Festival. This is the first time we’ll be celebrating the Sabzerus Festival (which marks Nahida’s birthday) as an actual event in the event Chromatic Ode of Candies and Roses. You’ll return to  Sumeru to wish Nahida a happy birthday and spend time with many of your friends in the Nation of Wisdom. By engaging in various challenges, including a new carriage-riding mini-game, Travelers can earn a lot of Primogems, upgrade materials, and even a free copy of Candace.

Other events coming in 5.1 include the Feast of Pursuit, an intense combat challenge where speed is key, Reminiscent Regiment: Thrill, a co-op combat challenge where you must work together with fellow Travelers to subdue a large threat, and the return of Liben for another round of Box o’ Marvels.

Lastly, there are a series of important system optimisations coming in Version 5.1. First and foremost, a skip function has been added to the Spiral Abyss, allowing active players who have cleared Floor 11 with three stars in the previous cycle to immediately skip to Floor 9 in the current cycle. You’ll still get the Primogems, just without the extra effort.

There will also be some improvements to the filtering and sorting logic of artifacts, remembering your previously set filters even if you exit the artifact selection menu. You will also be able to see how many of each item you can craft directly from your inventory.

Genshin Impact Version 5.1 launches on October 9th.
