A new take on a familiar photography event has made its way to Genshin Impact in version 4.2 with the Graph Adversarial Technology Experiment Log event (or just simply the Graph Adversarial event). Available from November 17th to November 27th, this event tasks players with tracking down ten different enemies to photograph each day based on a different theme or subject, rewarding them with different coloured samples for each successful picture. Once Travelers have collected enough Samples, they can turn them in to the event vendor, Lepine-Pauline, for some sweet rewards, including up to 420 Primogems.
However, while it may sound like a simple job, a few roadblocks are getting in the way of you and your Primos. First and foremost, you can only take 10 pictures per day and, at minimum, you’ll need 6 of each Sample to collect all of the event’s rewards, which equals 30 Samples in total. Even then, the Samples you get from each enemy are random, meaning that it may take even longer to build up a full Sample set unless you’re gifting and trading them with friends. There are a lot of different moving pieces to this event so we’re here to help streamline it and show you where to easily find enemies to take pictures of for each of the event’s six days.
Here’s where to easily find the enemies needed for all six days of the Graph Adversarial Technology Experiment Log event in Genshin Impact.

Graph Adversarial Technology Experiment Log Event Overview
To start the Graph Adversarial event in Genshin Impact, complete the Event Mission “Goal: Counter the Phantom Blubberbeast!”, which will automatically appear in your quest log if you log in during the event period. This quest introduces you to the main NPC and vendor of the event, Lepine-Pauline. At the end of the quest, she’ll give you the Image Sampling Kamera Gadget and unlock access to the event for you.
During Graph Adversarial, you need to take photographs of different creatures around Teyvat based on the given subject. The subject topic itself will change each day and there are six topics in total. To take a photo, you’ll need to use the Image Sampling Kamera to aim at your target, at which point you’ll be given a special Sample. Each day, you’ll only have 10 bits of film to work with, limiting you to 10 pictures (and Samples) per day.
For each successful photograph you take, you’ll receive one of five coloured Samples which will either be blue, brown, yellow, red or purple. To claim the event rewards from Lepine-Pauline, you need to collect a complete set of Samples, meaning you need one of each colour. However, this is far easier said than done, especially when the Samples you receive are random: if you have a stroke of bad luck, you may not get a surplus of one type of Sample while being starved of another, stopping you from getting those rewards early.
Fortunately, there is one way around this. Just like the last time an event like this rolled around, you can trade Samples with people on your friend lists. If you gift a Sample to a friend, you will freely give them one of your Samples. Conversely, if they gift you one of theirs, you’ll have another Sample added to your collection. This can be really useful for getting all of the rewards as quickly as possible or as a way to sidestep RNG. For example, if I only need one more Arc Sample to complete my set and my friend has one, they can give it to me so I can get those rewards without waiting for the daily reset.
Graph Adversarial Technology Experiment Log is available in Genshin Impact from November 17th to November 27th and the final subject will go live on the 22nd. After that, you’ll still have time to trade any Samples you still have in your possession just in case you missed out on the rewards.
Graph Adversarial Day 1: Opponents With Wing-Like Structures
The first day of the Graph Adversial Technology Experiment Log asks you to find and take photos of Opponents With Wing-Like Structures. While the description is quite simple, it does have a few caveats. There are many enemies in Genshin who can fly – like the Spectres or Ruin Hunters – but, unless they have something resembling a wing on their body, they do not count for this challenge.
There are a large number of enemies who fall into this category. If you want to get this done as quickly as possible, you’ll be going after a picture of the enemies listed below:
- Oceanid (Liyue World Boss)
- 4 Types of Hydro Mimics (Finch, Eagle, Crane and Malliard)
- Thunder Manifestation (Inazuma World Boss)
- Aeonblight Drake (Sumeru World Boss)
- Jadeplume Terrorshroom (Sumeru World Boss)
- Consecrated Red Vulture
- Electro Cicin (Summon spawned by a Fatui Cicin Mage)
Where to Find All Opponents
Firstly, you’ll be heading to Liyue to snap some pictures of the Oceanid World Boss. The boss itself counts as one of the enemies you need for your Samples but, more importantly, it spawns a wide variety of Hydro Mimics to battle you.
There are four Hydro Mimics you’ll want to keep an eye out for, namely the Hydro Eagle, Hydro Malliard, Hydro Crane and the Hydro Finch. Despite them all being Hydro Mimics, they count as individual enemy types for the event, allowing you to get 5 enemy photos knocked out super early if you get lucky enough. Of course, the Mimics the Oceanid spawns are completely random so you may simply get unlucky and get an abundance of Hydro Boars or Squirrels, instead. However, because the Oceanid is a World Boss, you can rechallenge it over and over until you get all five photos you need.
- Oceanid World Boss
- Oceanid Location
After the Oceanid, you’ll be going to Inazuma. To be more specific, you’ll need to head to the Thunder Manifestation World Boss on Seirai Island. For all intents and purposes, this boss is simply an Electro Oceanid, swapping its clear blue colour for a striking purple coat. Fortunately for us, this makes the Thunderbird count as a different enemy to the Oceanid, earning us another Sample for the event.
While you’re still in Inazuma, head to the northmost Teleport Waypoint on Watatsumi Island. As soon as you spawn in you’ll be facing one of the Fatui’s Electro Cicin Mages. While the Mages themselves lack any sort of wings or decorative ornaments, several of their attacks will summon small Electro-bat creatures called Cicins: these do count as a flying enemy for your log, so wander on up to the Mage, pester her for a bit and then snap a pic of the Cicins when they come out to play.

The last three opponents with wing-like structures in Genshin Impact can all be found in Sumeru. Starting at the Rainforest, there are two flying bosses which will net you some easy photos. The first is the Aeonblight Drake, a gargantuan Ruin Drake hidden in the Devantaka Mountains. Both this boss and the next one spawn into the world fully formed, allowing you to take the photo from a distance and then simply go on your way.
The other Sumeru World Boss to take a photo of is the Jadeplume Terrorshroom. This sovereign of Fungi can be found in the Vissudha Field region of Sumeru and, just like the Drake, you simply need to take a photo of it from a distance to earn your second-to-last Sample.

Finally, for day one at least, you’ll be venturing into the Desert of Hadramaveth on the hunt for a Consecrated Beast. There are several different types of Consecrated Beasts but only one of them is considered a flying enemy: the Red Vulture Consecrated Beast, based on the Red Vulture fauna which roam the desert (and actually count as an opponent with a wing-like structure if you’re still missing one from your portfolio).
The easiest Red Vulture Beast to find is in the Debris of Panjvahe region of the Hadramveth Desert. Spawn in on the Waypoint closest to the Debris of Panmjvahe and then walk down the river to the rest. You’ll pass by several enemy types, including a few Fatui and Abyss Mages, but you’ll eventually be able to climb up to the Red Vulture’s nest using some Four Leaf Sigils. Once you’re there, take the last photo you need and then turn in everything you got to Lepine-Pauline.

Graph Adversarial Day 2: Basically Ball-Shaped Teyvat Product
The second day of the Graph Adversarial Technology Experiment Log is a bit… different. Instead of asking you to go and find a creature or enemy, it tasks you with tracking down and photographing Ball-Shaped Teyvat Products. The important distinction with this one is the word products, meaning that the subject of your photos cannot be a living creature like a Slime or Spectre (even though they do technically fit the description). Instead, you’ll need to track down things such as food and flowers from around Teyvat.
As you can imagine, there are a fair number of different things which are considered ball-shaped products. However, compared to day 1, they may be a bit trickier to locate than actual enemies. Even so, below you’ll find a list of potential muses for your Graph Adversarial pictures in Genshin Impact:
- Bird
- Apples
- Pinecones
- Berries
- Wolfhooks
- Bulle Fruit
- Valberries
- Mist and Flaming Flower Stamen
- Sango Pearls
- Lumidouce Bells
- Dandelion Seeds
- Sunsettia
Where to Find All Objects
If you know where to go, this set of photographs can be laughably easy. The main reason why this is possible is thanks to an important feature in the Image Sample Kamera works: while it’s true that you need to take pictures of objects in different instances, they don’t have to be a completely different product or object for it to count for Samples. For example, if I find 3 apples out in the world and take the time to photograph each individual apple, they will count as three separate Samples. Often, flowers and foodstuffs appear in batches and you can exploit this part of the Kamera’s functionality for some easy pictures.
You can take 10 pictures in under a minute from just 2 different Ball-Shaped Teyvat Products if you know where to go. To get this done as quickly as possible, start in Mondstadt at the Teleport Waypoint by the Alchemy Table.
Once you load in, walk out of the city but stop before crossing the bridge over the lake. If you look around that location, you’ll soon find 3 lots of Dandelion Seeds on the right and 4 Dandelions on the left: because each Dandelion is considered its own object, this allows you to quickly snatch up 7 of your daily photos in no time at all. Don’t worry about getting the same coloured Samples, either, as you will still receive them at random despite being the same object.
Once you’ve collected all of the Dandelions, walk across the bridge and towards the Temple of the Falcon. On your way there, walk up towards the nearby Teleport Waypoint just outside of Mondstadt and you should see two trees covered in Sunsettias close by. Just like the Dandelions, each individual Sunsettia counts as a different Ball-Shaped Teyvat Product and there are easily at least 6 of them spread between these two trees. As such, just snap a pic of whichever Sunsettias take your fancy and you’ll have day 2’s set of pictures done in a flash.
- Dandelion Seeds
- Sunsettia Trees
Day 3: Basically Blue Wild Creature
Compared to the previous two days, day 3’s subject is easily the most frustrating and annoying. Today, you’re charged with finding and taking pictures of, Blue Wild Creatures. What counts as a Blue Wild Creature? Well, for starters, it cannot be considered as a type of enemy, excluding obvious examples such as Blubberbeats or Shell Crabs. Secondly, it has to be a living creature that you can interact with in some way, whether that be picking it up or killing it for meat.
As you can expect, the list of available creatures isn’t very long, especially when you also have to match their colour. Fortunately, there are some pretty easy-to-find options on the list:
- Emerald Finch
- Flatcrest Fulmar
- Dusk Bird
- Bluecrown Finch
- Bluethunder Weasel
- Leisurely Otter
- Blue-Fin Bass
- Hydro Crystalfly
- Cryo Crystalfly
- Blue Frog
- Lucklight Fly
- Adorned Unagi
- Marrow Lizard
- Formalo Ray
Where to Find All Creatures
Because a lot of the creatures in this list can either get spooked or scared away from their original resting point, we’ll be recommending a few more available options than usual just in case you get a bit trigger-happy and scare away all the animals. As for where we’ll be searching for the wild blue creatures, where better than Fontaine, the nation of Hydro, Justice and cute blue critters?
To be more specific, you’ll primarily be on the lookout for 3 main creature types: Hydro Crystalflys and two types of Fontainian birds. As you can expect, tracking down these creatures on your own in the wilds of Fontaine is going to be difficult – especially with all the water everywhere – but there are a few key points where a lot of both creature kinds spawn.
The first stop you’ll want to head to is the Morte Region Statue of the Seven. As soon as you spawn in, do not move or you risk immediately scaring away two of the birds. One will be directly to your left while the second is directly behind you, both sitting on destroyed stone pillars. Then, just down the steps from the Statue, are a cluster of 4 Hydro Crystalflys flapping about. If you just stand completely still and only use your Kamera, you can snap up 6 easy Blue Wild Creatures for your portfolio.
- Big Blue Bird
- Smaller Blue Bird
- Cluster of Crystalflies
- Morte Statue of the Seven Location
After that, your next stop is going to be the Marcotte Station Statue of the Seven to the north. Once again, make sure not to move your character when you pop in, else you may scare away the nearby wildlife. Directly in front of the Statue (behind where you spawn) will be two more big blue birds: only one will be on show, with the other hiding behind a tree in the distance.
If you’re still struggling for critters, there are two easy Crystalfly locations with 3 Hydro Crystalflys each. Just a word of warning, though, that you’ll need to be fast when taking pictures as you essentially spawn directly on top of the butterflies, causing them to go into a frenzy right away. The first Crystalfly location is actually a Domain, the Pale Forgotten Glory or Fontainian Talent Book Domain, to be precise. Three Hydro Crystalflies will be swimming in the water right at the Domain’s doors, so act quickly.
The second location is underground in the Beryl Region. Just outside of the Merusea Village is “A Very Warm Place” and, if you teleport over to this location Waypoint, you’ll find three more Crystalflies congregating around here. Be quick and you’ll score three more pictures.

Graph Adversarial Day 4: Staff-Wielding Opponent
Day 4 returns to a more familiar, punchable muse as we get to take some pictures of specific enemies around Teyvat. To be more precise, you’ll be snapping some cheeky pictures of Staff-Wielding Enemies. As for what classes as a staff, Genshin Impact and Graph Adversarial seem pretty loose with the concept, with everything from clubs to canes to swords to good old sticks counting towards your portfolio.
You may already have a good idea of what kind of enemies you’ll need to track down but, for some more clarity, here are a list of just a few of the Staff-Wielding Opponents who will count for your Samples:
- Hilichurl Fighters
- Hilichurl Berserkers
- Wood and Ice Shield Hilichurls
- All types of Samachurl (Hydro, Anemo, Electro, Dendro, Cryo and Geo)
- All types of Abyss Mage (Pyro, Hydro, Electro and Cryo)
- Fatui Operatives (Wind and Frost)
- Geochanter Bracer Fatui Skirmishers
- Standard Bearer Shadowy Husks
- Line Breaker Shadowy Husks
Where to Find All Easy Opponents
If you want to get this challenge done as quickly as possible, there are two locations you’ll want to visit, each with its own special congregation of Staff-Wielding Opponents. Both of them are very close to Teleport points, meaning that you won’t have to do much travelling for your daily Samples.
Our first stop is in Mondstadt, the land of Freedom and the nation of Anemo. Here, you’ll be on the lookout for Hilichurls and Samachurls, who populate the area in abundance. A large group of Hillichurls can be found by teleporting to the Cecilia Garden Domain (which is the Mondstadt Weapon Ascension Domain): as soon as you appear at the doors, turn around and you’ll find two groups of Hillichurls to your left and right.
To the left by the cliff will be two club-wielding Hilichurls accompanied by a crossbow Hillichurl, netting you two photos to your daily limit. Then, on the opposite side, you’ll find a Berserker Hilichurl wandering the area as well as a Hydro Samachurl sitting around a makeshift campfire with another Berserker companion. If you manage to take a picture of all of these enemies, you’ll be halfway complete with the day 4 test with 5 photos of Staff-Wielding Opponents.
- Just A Couple of Hilichurls
- Mondstadt Weapon Material Domain Location
As for the second stop on your journey, you’ll be travelling from the first region we explored to the last. Fontaine has been home to many picturesque subjects in our Graph Adversarial experience and that hasn’t changed with day 4. Instead of Hilichurls, your main targets for Fontaine are going to be Fatui Agents, specifically the Geobracer Fatui Skirmishers and the new Forst and Wind Fatui Operatives.
Fatui of all shapes and sizes call many areas of Fontaine home but there’s one specific area where many like to dwell: Mont Eus East in the Liffey Region. To start your Fatui hunt, teleport to the closest Waypoint in Mont Esus East. As soon as you pop in, you should see two Fatui Skirmishers having a chat in the middle of the road and one of them is a Geobracer Skirmisher. Simply politely snap a picture of him and then move on.
The other four notable Fatui in this area are all Operatives. There are two – one Wind and one Frost – down by the waterfall to the south of Mont Esus East. Meanwhile, you’ll find a Frost Operative enjoying a peaceful walk on the nearby beach and another Frost Operative patrolling the road between the Waypoint and the large Tower at the top of the hill. Just like with the Hillichurls, if you find and take a photo of all these Fatui, you’ll get yourself 5 more photos and easily complete the day 4 challenge in no time flat.

Graph Adversarial Day 5: Basically Purple Teyvat Product
After a rather tricky one yesterday, day 5’s subject is actually probably the easiest one yet. To complete it, you’ll need to take 10 pictures of Purple Teyvat Products. Just like with day 2, the product descriptor for today’s photos indicates that your subject must be a non-living thing and a collectable object such as a local speciality: cute and purple as they may be, Electro Slimes will not count.
Purple local specialities are actually fairly common in Genshin, especially in Inazuma, the Land of Eternity blessed by Electro. However, there is also plenty to find outside of Inazuma, making day 5 one of the easiest hunts yet:
- Naku Weeds
- Wolfhooks
- Amethyst Lump
- Violetgrass
- Horsetails
- Onikabuto
- Sumeru Roses
- Lumidouce Bell
- Amakumo Fruit
- Sango Pearl
Where to Find All Purple Objects
With so many easy options to choose from, day 5’s subject is straightforward and you can’t really go wrong with options like Naku Weeds, Crystal Marrow or even Sumeru Roses. However, you won’t have to travel to the Nation of Electro to easily collect your daily batch of photos because Mondstadt has the easiest purple item to collect in the game: Wolfhooks. These Mondstadt regional specialities are a favourite of Razor (and Mika) and they can only be found in the depths of Wolvendom, a forest to the southwest of Mondstadt. Fortunately, this means that there are plenty to choose from for photo purposes.
Beginning at the Wolfendom Teleport Waypoint, begin making your way towards Boreas, the Weekly Boss. Wolfhooks will only start making an appearance once you pass the Hilichurl camp that’s about halfway to the Wolf and you can choose to take pictures of these if you want to cut down time even more. However, eventually, you’ll reach your destination and the best place to get the Purple Teyvat Product photos done for day 5.
The main area you’ll be searching for Wolfhooks is just outside of the Lupus Boreas boss arena. In the small cluster of broken trees, there are a total of 10 Wolfhooks sitting patiently waiting for you to photograph them. Most of the Wolfhooks come in pairs at the base of trees, but about 4 of them will be off their lonesome somewhere in the area.
Some of the Wolfhooks are a bit hard to spot, particularly those hiding inside bushes or foliage. However, if you just start waving your camera around the area, it should pick up any Wolfhook in view, even if it’s hidden by some piece of the landscape. Soon enough, you’ll have ten Wolfhook photos to add to your collection, satisfying your Purple Teyvat Product quota for the day in a matter of minutes.

Graph Adversarial Day 6: Legless Wild Non-Fish Creature
The final day of the Graph Adversarial event in Genshin has decided to grace us with one of the most restrictive subjects in the entire event. For today’s set of photos, you’ll need to snap pictures of any Legless Wild Non-Fish Creature. Similar to day 3, a creature is considered an animal or being that the Traveler can interact with in some way (such as picking them up or killing them for meat) but is not classified as an enemy. Additionally, the extra stipulation that the subject cannot be a fish does significantly cut down on our potential muses, which is a bit of pain.
Unfortunately, Teyvat’s list of legless creatures is… absolutely tiny. In fact, there are only three unique species of legless creatures you can take photos of and most of them are pretty tricky to track down:
- All Types of Crystalfly
- All Types of Unagi
- Flying Serpents
Where to Find All Creatures
Day 6 is easily the most difficult and annoying out of all the Graph Adversarial subjects, primarily due to the low amount of creatures Genshin Impact who don’t have legs. One stroke of fortune, though, is that the Crystalflies do in fact count as Legless Creatures. As such, if you’ve allowed them to respawn since your last visit a few days ago, you can head back to Fontaine and take pictures of all the same Hydro Crystalflies you saw on day 3.
However, Crystalfly spawns can be kind of fickle and you may be curious for an easy location to find the other prominent legless animal in Teyvat, the Unagi. These worm-like creatures are the painted subject for day 6 on the Graph Adversarial page and, while they can be found elsewhere, they predominantly inhabit the land of Inazuma. Before we go any further, it’s important to note that Unagi are easily spooked so keep your distance while taking pictures so that you don’t scare them away.
- Red Finned Unagi
- Watatsumi Unagi Location, North
Your Unagi hunt will take place to the north and south of Watastumi Island in western Inazuma. Begin by heading to the island’s northmost Teleport Waypoint and then start heading west, keeping an eye on the edge of the beach as you go. Shortly after beginning your trip, you should spot several little red creatures burst from the sand a little ways off the beach: these are the Red Finned Unagi and they’ll be your main source of pictures for today. In this area, there are a total of 5 Red Finned Unagi and even three Adorned Unagi close by, allowing you to snatch up 8 of your required daily photos.
After you’ve rounded up all of the Unagi to the north, head down to the island’s southeasternmost Teleport Waypoint (the one right next to the grey ruins with the 9-cube puzzle). Just like before, begin walking two and fro on the beach until you see the Unagi squirm up from the sand. You may have to take a little dip into the water yourself to get them to pop up but, do enough exploring in this small area, and you’ll be able to get photographs of plenty of Red Finned and Adorned Unagi for your collection.
- Adorned Unagi
- Watatsumi Unagi Location, South
That was where to find all of the enemies you needed to complete the Graph Adversarial Technology Experiment Log event in Genshin Impact.
