Apex Legends is more alive than ever, with a new map being introduced for the first time in a year. Olympus is still quite fresh for everyone, even after hours of playtime in this new environment. If you’re wondering what places are the best to land first, here’s your guide from a veteran and still active Apex player.

5. Grow Towers

These three towers may be considered mid-tier loot, but that doesn’t hide the fact that they’re packed full of goodies. Each tower has 3 levels, perfect for getting some height advantage or a variety of loot options. I find that I never initially drop here, but whenever I come across the towers they still have a plethora of items left.

If you want to drop somewhere that may not be busy with hoards of enemy teams, this may be the place to go. Once you’re done with one tower, you’ve still got 2 to go! This is, in my opinion, a highly underrated spot to find, no matter what point in the game you’re in.

4. The Rift

Beware the Rift, step too close to the centre and you'll be flown away.

When you first look at the new island of Olympus, this will probably be the first thing you notice. It’s a humungous sphere of rift energy that you can fly right through. Surrounding the inner globe is high-tier loot with multiple different buildings to sift through. It’s one of Olympus’ largest areas with a lot of open space.

I’ve put this place lower on the list simply for the fact that it gets quite busy with enemy squads. The reason for this may just come down to the fact that it’s the main spectacle of Olympus, or maybe people just want that high-tier loot. Just make sure if you drop here that you have a good set of teammates with you.

3. Estates

The richest of the rich probably used to live here, seeing as all the items they left are high quality. The autumn estates is a perfect place to drop right from the start, or even stumble upon later in the game. With numerous houses to explore and perfect hiding spots from enemies, you can never go wrong with Estates.

If you’re ever flying over it, I recommend going there first to snag all the goodies before anyone else does. It’s listed as high-tier, despite it usually never getting too crowded with enemies. I can’t forget to mention there’s usually a replicator there too! It comes to a close third behind the next two hot spots.

2. The Carrier

I’m quite surprised at how little I hear about this place. The Arcadia Supercarrier is a huge ship carrying dozens of high-tier items. When I tell you this place is big, I mean it is big. From the back to the front, this ship always seems to have the most items. If you’re a Loba main–like me–her black market will be stocked full of goodies.

I would recommend dropping here from the beginning, but coming across the Carrier later on will still earn you good items. This is mostly due to how large the place is, so most 3-person squads can’t take everything there.

1. Elysium

If you ever get a chance to drop here first, don't miss it!

The number one spot can only be occupied by the place that can only be found by dropping right from the beginning. Unless a Pathfinder can place down a zip-line, coming here first is a must. Elysium is a small island disconnected from the entirety of Olympus.

Like the other spots listed, Elysium holds high-tier items and a replicator. If your dropship is heading right over Elysium, it may get too busy with enemy squads. I recommend dropping here alone with your squad, then heading out on a jump tower when the ring starts to close. You’ll find yourself busy collecting and replicating.

I may have just spilled my secret spots to everyone, but I hope I could help any new or old players when battling in Olympus. What are your favourite or underrated spots? Let us know!
