It’s important to keep in mind that this doesn’t include the entire player base. According to the Twitter post, this information accounts for 4.7 million players that are included as part of their database. Accounts below level 10 are excluded as well. Below are the pick rates for Season 9.
- Octane: 14.5%
- Wraith: 13%
- Bloodhound: 11.7%
- Lifeline: 8.9%
- Valkyrie: 8.5%
- Pathfinder: 8.4%
- Bangalore: 7.2%
- Loba: 4.5%
- Horizon: 4%
- Mirage: 3.6%
- Gibraltar: 3.4%
- Caustic: 2.7%
- Revenant: 2.7%
- Fuse: 2.6%
- Wattson: 2.1%
- Crypto: 1.7%
- Rampart: 1.6%
Octane has come a long way since his release back in Season 1. A mid-tier character at launch, he now has the highest pick percentage in the game. Recent buffs to his kit in the past few months probably have contributed to his rise in popularity. His impressive movement abilities, such as his Launch Pad and Stim, make him extremely fun to play.
Ascending to number two on this list, Wraith has always been one of the most popular Legends in Apex Legends. While her popularity dropped slightly due to alterations to her hitbox last season, the recent removal of Low Profile has made her more difficult to knock in a fight.
Loba has made a significant move towards the top of the list. While other Legends remain more popular, improvements to her abilities this season have increased her viability on the battlefield. In particular, the bracelet that gives her the power to teleport short distances received a buff. She can now continue to run while the bracelet is in the air. Furthermore, numerous bugs that had rendered the ability unreliable have been patched as well.
A casualty of recent nerfs, Horizon has seen her pick rate drop dramatically. Two of the newer additions to the game, Rampart and Fuse, continue to struggle to find their place in the current meta as well. On the other hand, the newest addition to the game, Valkyrie, seems to be showing that she is reasonably balanced. It will be interesting to see how her pick rate adjusts over time as the new character hype wears off.
