Befitting its BrayTech theme, Vesper’s Host is easily Destiny 2’s most secret packed Dungeon. From hidden plate puzzles to full math equations, there’s so much to unearth from this abandoned station and all of it is well worth the effort. The main thing most players will be on the lookout for is the hidden messages, which are both a collectable and a part of the Rogue Network quest for the Spider.
Completing this quest is vital for those looking to squeeze everything out of the dungeon. If you’re able to find all six of the hidden messages (as well the three which unlock after the conclusion of Rogue Network), you will unlock access to both Vesper’s Host secret chests, the special loot keypad wall which lets you choose a guaranteed piece of loot to obtain each, and access to the Ice Breaker Catalyst.
Here’s how to complete the Rogue Network quest and find all of the Vesper’s Host collectables and hidden messages in the newest Destiny 2 Dungeon.

How to Start the Rogue Network Quest in Destiny 2
First things first, to unlock access to Vesper’s Host in Destiny 2, you’ll need to visit Spider in The Last City. This will begin the Rogue Network quest, a long and very detailed questline that involves completing many puzzles within the Dungeon. For this first step, though, you need to enter and beat Vesper’s Host on any difficulty. If you want some help with this, check out our guide on how to beat the Vesper’s Host Dungeon here on KeenGamer.
Do not leave just yet once the Corrupted Puppeteer has been defeated and you’ve claimed your loot from the Dungeon. Instead, make sure to grab the message that’s waiting for you beside the final chest. This is required to progress to the next step of Rogue Network and, if you forget it, you’ll need to do the whole Dungeon again.
With the message in hand, return to Spider and he’ll inform you of the first set of puzzles within Vesper’s Host. These are used to unlock access to the first secret chest and will require another run-through of the Dungeon to find. Just to note before we go any further, completing the entire Rogue Network quest will require about four or five near-complete runs of Vesper’s Host so strap in for the long haul.
Vesper’s Host First Set of Messages and Puzzles
Vesper’s Host Message 1 Location and Solution
For the first puzzle, complete the first encounter but don’t go off to the Servitor maze after claiming your loot. Instead, go back to the red heart room where you grabbed one of the nukes for the first encounter. This is the site of several upcoming puzzles so remember it well.
Once you reach this room, take a look around and you should find several black discs on the floor. One of these discs will be blinking blue and, upon stepping on it, it will turn completely blue. At this point, a different disc will begin blinking around the room which you must find and step on. The goal here is to simply stand on all of the plates in the right order. If you step on a black disc which isn’t blinking, it will reset the sequence so be careful where you tread.
When the last disc has been tapped, all players will be awarded an Ascendant Alloy and directed to the first of Vesper’s Host’s hidden message. Pick it up and then continue further into the Dungeon.
- Return to the Heart Room
- Look for the Blinking Plates
Vesper’s Host Message 2 Location and Solution
The second hidden message is Vesper’s Host isn’t that far from the first one. Make your way to the Servitor maze and do the nuke dunking sequence as normal until you bank the third nuke and open access to the second part of the maze. This will move Raneiks out of the way, allowing you to complete the puzzle – which is in the first half of the maze – while retaining the Power Bank buff.
For this puzzle, make your way into the room where the first nuke deposit box was. In the corner, you’ll find a large black screen which, once activated, with show an array of white triangles: most will be a light grey and one will be blinking white. These triangles correspond to a series of black discs around the first half of the maze and, just like before, you need to activate them in a specific order. To be more specific, you need to find the plate which corresponds to the blinking light on the console.
In total, there are eight plates to activate and their position on the screen corresponds relatively well to where their position in reality is. For example, the plate next to the screen in the first nuke room is the top right-most plate. Meanwhile, the leftmost plate can be found where the Tech Priest spawns near the third nuke box. Below, you’ll find an image that numbers each plate as well as a guide to the exact location of each plate in the maze.
Once all of the plates have been triggered correctly, you’ll be given another Ascendant Alloy and directed back to the first nuke room to pick up your second message in Vesper’s Host.
- Second Plate Puzzle
- Servitor Maze Plate Locations
Vesper’s Host Message 3 Location and Solution
The final puzzle of this first set in Vesper’s Host can be found after you beat the second encounter of the Dungeon, Raneiks Unified. After passing through Raneiks’ boss arena, you’ll drop down into an area of vast open space where chunks of the abandoned space station lay scattered amongst the stars. There will also be bursts of yellow Arc energy, similar to those seen in the final boss encounter.
As you’re making your way through this section, you’ll stumble across the next screen which is exactly the same as the second puzzle. This time, there are ten plates to activate in the nearby area.
However, unlike the last set, this set doesn’t match up quite as well with the image on the screen. To make things a bit easier, use the plate we’ve marked as three to orient yourself as this is the one right by the first screen.
Like before, make sure not to touch any inactive plates before it is their time to be turned on. If you manage to successfully press them in the right order, return to the screen by plate three and the last of this initial set of messages will be yours to claim.
- Third Plate Puzzle
- Spacewalk Plate Locations
First Secret Chest Unlocked
With the first three puzzles completed, you’ll gain Level 1 Security Clearance within Vesper’s Host and be asked to find the first of the dungeon’s secret chests by Spider. Unfortunately, it’s back in the Servitor Maze, meaning that you’ll need to do a fresh run of the dungeon if you want to grab it.
Proceed through the dungeon as normal until you reach the second half of the Servitor Maze. After dunking the fourth nuke, make your way through the doors which lead to the fifth nuke deposit box. Keep going until you arrive at the corridor where you need to quickly run past Raneiks to make it to the room containing the fifth box. However, instead of turning right towards Raneiks, go straight ahead and, on the other side of the corridor will be a locked door.
With the right clearance level, you can open the door and claim the loot from within. A word of warning, if you’re playing this dungeon with a team, only the first person to open this chest will get the reward: if everyone wants to get the extra loot and advance to the next quest step, you’ll need to wipe and redo the Servitor Maze up to this point however many times its necessary. Once everyone has the next step, return to Spider and he’ll give you the permissions for the next set of puzzles.
Vesper’s Host Second Set of Messages and Puzzles
Vesper’s Host Message 4 Location and Solution
After returning to Vesper’s Host, the first of the second set of puzzles and the second set of messages will be in the first encounter’s heart room once again. This time, there will be a series of numbered Operator panels around the room, similar to those found in the second encounter.
These panels function the same as those in the first encounter in that the Scanner can tell which panels are safe to shoot and which ones are unsafe to shoot based on their mini-map. However, the criteria for a safe and unsafe panel are flipped for this set of puzzles: if the panel turns white on the mini-map it means it is unsafe, whereas panels which disappear from the mini-map are safe to shoot. Aside from that, this puzzle (as well as the following puzzles) is relatively simple.
Once all of the correct panels have been shot, you’ll be given another Ascendant Alloy, as well as another message to pick up.
Vesper’s Host Message 5 Location and Solution
The second puzzle in this chain can be found after you drop down into space following the Raneiks Unified encounter. On your way to the big spacewalk section where we did the plate puzzle previously, you usually encounter a group of Fallen and a Brig. Well, this time, you’ll also find two terminals containing an Operator and a Scanner, as well as another set of numbered panels.
Just like last time, stick on Scanner and call out the ones which disappear from the mini-map as safe to shoot. Some of the panels are back where you fell, whereas some others are a bit further ahead so make sure to thoroughly explore the area if it seems like you’re missing a plate or two.
Vesper’s Host Message 6 Location and Solution
To find the last puzzle in this sequence, keep going through the spacewalk section until you defeat the Tech Priest mini-boss after the room is filled with tripwires. This will take you to another field of floating debris and amongst this field you’ll find the last two terminals you need.
The main issue with this puzzle is just getting the Scanner player over to each panel. Not only are they up high and require a decent amount of platforming to reach, but there’s also the barrage of Arc energy raining down on you that can kill you in one hit, so be careful.
Shoot all of the correct panels and claim the last message to complete this step of Rogue Network in Destiny 2. Don’t leave the dungeon just yet, though.
Second Secret Chest Unlocked
With the previous three puzzles completed and their messages claimed, you’ll gain second-level clearance around the space station. This means that you’ll be able to unlock the secret second chest which, fortunately, is closeby to the puzzle you just did.
Go back to the room filled with tripwires and you’ll soon find a locked door which you can now open. This is where you’ll find the second secret chest but, more interestingly, this room also contains an Operator terminal as well as a set of panels and screens on the wall. For now, you cannot do anything with it, so loot the chest and return to Spider.
The shady Fallen merchant will then reveal the purpose of that keypad you saw: you can use it to punch in the code of specific pieces of gear from the dungeon, allowing you to obtain a guaranteed roll of the item you input. The first code he’ll give you is for the Vesper’s Host Class Item (which does not drop from any encounter).
To activate the keypad, you’ll need to shoot four specific oval screens throughout the dungeon. Hitting these will activate each screen in the hidden chest room and you need to shoot all four to spawn the Operator buff. You can find the screens in the following locations:
- Above the door in the long yellow hallway after the Servitor Maze.
- On the wall after sliding down a slope near the start of the second encounter.
- On the side of a silo near where you encounter the Brig after the second encounter.
- Above the doorway near the end of the initial spacewalk section.
- Walk Through the Door and Then Turn Around
- First Keypad Screen Location
- Slid Down Towards the Second Encounter
- Second Keypad Screen Location
- Ascend Towards the Spacewalk
- Third Keypad Screen Location
- Cross the Spacewalk But Turn Around Before Entering This Tunnel
- Fourth Keypad Screen Location
With all of these screens shot, return to the second secret chest room. This time, there will be an Operator buff in the terminal and you’ll have the ability to activate the keypad. Activate it and then enter the code Spider gave you, which should just be 42. At this point, you’ll only be able to input two numbers into the keypad, with later puzzles unlocking access to the third and fourth digits.
Once you have input the code, loot the chest and the Vesper’s Host Class Item will be yours. Return to Spider one last time and that will be the end of the Rogue Network questline, although it isn’t the end of the puzzles in Vesper’s Host as you still need to unlock the third and fourth digits of the secret chest keypad, which unlocks the ability to focus dungeon armour and weapons, respectively.
Vesper’s Host Third Set of Messages and Puzzles
Vesper’s Host Message 7 Location and Solution
To unlock the third digit on the keypad, return to Vesper’s Host after completing the Rogue Network quest and complete the first encounter. Then, make your way, for the final time, to the heart room.
This time, you’ll be greeted by several Operator panels as well as a blue two-digit number. Your goal here is to shoot four panels whose numbers add up to total the large blue number you have. For example, my number was 21 so I needed to shoot the panels with 3, 5, 6, and 7 on them. The total you’ll need to reach is different per player so maybe have a calculator handy if you aren’t great at maths.
Solving this puzzle will give you another message to pick up.
Vesper’s Host Message 8 Location and Solution
The second of these numerical puzzles is hard to miss as it’s right on the golden path following the end of the Servitor Maze. For this puzzle, there will be a large three-digit number, instead of a two-digit one.
To solve this puzzle, you need to shoot four numbers which multiply together to get the large three-digit number. Within the room, you’ll find panels with numbers one to six, while panels seven and eight are just outside. If you want to example for this puzzle, the number I had to reach was 180. To get there, I shot 2 then 6 then 5 then 3:
- 2 x 6 = 12
- 12 x 5 = 60
- 60 x 3 = 180
Similar to the first puzzle, the number is different for every player and will award the second to last message for completing it successfully. Now, you only have one more Vesper’s Host collectable to find in Destiny 2.
Vesper’s Host Message 9 Location and Solution
The final numerical puzzle for Vesper’s Host in Destiny 2 can be found after the first spacewalk section. Once you enter the room right before the tripwire room – the one with the group of Fallen and a Servitor – you will immediately notice the Operator panels on the wall.
At the back of the room, you’ll find a large three-digit number as well as empty slots for two smaller two-digit numbers. The objective of this puzzle is to make two smaller two-digit numbers which you will multiply together to get the large three-digit number. To make the two-digit numbers, you just repeat the steps from the first numerical puzzle: shoot four panels whose numbers add together to equal the desired total. The number I needed to reach here was 308. 14 x 22 was the sum I was aiming for, meaning that I needed to make a 14 and a 22.
- Firstly, I shot 2, 3, 4, and 5 to make 14.
- Then, I shot 4, 5, 6, and 7 to make 22.
- 14 x 22 = 308
Completing this final number puzzle will unlock the last message and Vesper’s Host collectable from the Vesper Station AI, as well as the Access Override Triumph. Remember to claim this as it will unlock the third digit on the secret chest keypad, allowing you to insert the triple-digit codes from specific Vesper’s Host armour pieces.
Final Calculator Puzzle Solution in Vesper’s Host
The last puzzle in Vesper’s Host is also the most difficult. If you manage to successfully clear it, you’ll unlock the ability to focus specific dungeon weapons as well as the Ice Breaker Catalyst, making it a very lucrative pick-up. Before you go in, make sure you have the Access Override Triumph unlocked.
To reach the last puzzle, proceed through the dungeon as normal until you reach the Tech Priest mini-boss after the tripwire room. Once you beat it, step out onto the walkway but, instead of crossing over the floating debris, look to your left and you should see another small walkway. Jump on over to it and a previously locked door will now be open, revealing a mischievous Operator Dreg as well as a legion of various Operator panels.
There are four screens in each corner of the room, each of which has its collection of Operator panels which you need to shoot in a very specific order. We’re just going over the solution in this guide but, if you’d like to learn more about what exactly is going on and how it all works, we recommend watching Datto’s video as it touches on the unique rules and games for each of the puzzle’s different mechanics.
- Defeat the Tech Priest
- Walk Outside and Look Left
Once you’re ready, pick up Operator and begin the sequence:
- Activate the Top Right
- Enter 1-0-0-0 on the Top Left
- Activate the Bottom Right
- Enter 4-1-1-1-4 on the Top Right
- Activate the Bottom Left
- Enter 0-0-1-1 on the Bottom Right
- Activate the Top Left
- Enter 1 at the Bottom Left
- Activate the Bottom Right
- Enter 0-1-0-0 on the Top Left
- Activate the Bottom Left
- Enter 0-0-1-0 on the Bottom Right
- Activate the Bottom Right
- Enter 3 on the Bottom Left
- Activate the Top Right
- Enter 3 on the Bottom Left
- Activate the Top Left
- Enter 1-1-4 on the Top Right
- Activate the Top Right
- Enter 0-1-0-1 on the Top Left
- Activate the Top Left
- Enter 1-2-1-1-4 at the Top Right
- Activate Bottom Left
- Enter 0-0-1-0 at the Top Left
- Enter 0-1-1-1 at the Bottom Right
Once you’ve input this long, long series of codes, the wires at the top of the room will spark to signify that you’ve been successful. This will give you a random piece of Vesper’s Host gear, the Director Access Triumph (which unlocks the fourth digit on the keypad), and the Masterwork Objective for the Ice Breaker Catalyst, meaning that you can begin using it immediately once you obtain it. You’ll also get some lore from the Vesper AI.
That was how to complete all of the hidden puzzles and obtain all of the messages from the Rouge Network quest in Destiny 2’s Vesper’s Host Dungeon.

THANK YOU. This is the only guide that has made it easier to figure out the circle puzzles!!

Step 11 is wrong BTW… should read “Activate Bottom Left”.
It won’t let you Activate bottom right 3x in a row anyway, so anyone following this will have to guess.

Hey, thank you for commenting! You are absolutely right and edits have been made to the article: with so many steps, it can be a bit confusing to put them all down. My fault either way, thanks for spotting it!
