Destiny 2: New PvP Mode and Map Revealed
Destiny 2 is just over a month away. July has seen a stream of new information and videos about the first-person looter-shooter. Some of this has come from the release of the open beta, for PS4 and Xbox One users; however, the majority of new information has come from IGN.

They have given us a variety of new information, such as a look at some improvements to Destiny 2's audio, and a look at the changes to Patrol activities. Today is no different. IGN have provided us with a look at a brand new Crucible PvP mode, "Survival", as well as a look at a new map known as "Altar of Flame".

The new Crucible mode 'Survival' sits within the Competitive playlist in Destiny 2's PvP, the other playlist being Quickplay. This mode is 4v4, and gives each team a finite number of lives. At the current stage this is eight. These eight lives allow for members on your time to respawn. However, once your team has used up these eight lives, a death means you are are knocked out for the remainder of the round. The first team to kill the other team twelve times win the round. That team will then win the round and the process restarts. The first team to win three rounds wins the match.

As for the new map, Altar of Flame, it takes place on Mercury. It features loose links to The Lighthouse from the original Destiny. The links can mainly be seen through the iconography on banners, and the presence of candles. As well as that, the map is of a medium size, featuring both lanes for sniping and close-quarters locations.

Below you can check out IGN's gameplay video of Survival on Altar of Flame:

You will be able to play Survival September 6 when Destiny 2 launches on PS4 and Xbox One. PC players will be able to get their hands on it October 24.
