Fans of the Animal Crossing series are nothing if not creative, and the introduction of terraforming tools to Animal Crossing: New Horizons has unleashed a whole heap of different ways to customise your island. One of the best ways to have your island look the best it can be is through using designs created by the community. Here is our top 10 custom path designs for the latest Animal Crossing game!
1. Stone path design
Taro uses this design for her island’s maze, but it would also be perfect for a botanical garden or as a main path in a natural-themed island. Use this stone path design to spruce up your island in Animal Crossing: New Horizons for the better!
2. Clovers
A great way to bring life to your island is to put down natural designs. The pattern’s creator, Iltsu, has great clover designs as well as decorative flowers that you can use to bring life to the green areas of your island!
3. Turtles
Add a shell stool on to the design, and you have the image of turtles crawling back into the ocean! This is a really sweet design that’s best used on the beach, but really can be used anywhere.
4. Floral wooden path design
This wooden path design looks great both on grass and on top of the default paths to make a beautiful cottage-core inspired walkway, like as a runway for wedding items. Use it in forests, gardens, anywhere to give off fairy vibes!
5. Stepping Stones
Stepping stones are a must-have design to include on your island. They work in every scenario and are also great at filling up empty space.
6. Volleyball
Meelworms thought of a great way to make your beach more fun by designing a volleyball pitch! Buy the ball from Nook’s Cranny and customise it to be a volleyball; let the games begin!
7. Circular stone path design
This stone path design is elegant and versatile for your Animal Crossing island. Vee has used it to make a cute DIY corner here, but it’s also a great pattern to have underneath wells and other awkward-to-place items in the game.
8. Puddles
Even in the summer, your island gets its fair share of rain. Make your island more realistic by adding puddles after a rainy day.
9. Planks
Planks are a great way to create a themed space on an island. On Susan’s island, she uses it for her zen garden. Because of the “feeties” design, this plank fits in with it’s surroundings completely naturally.
10. Sand Doodles
Sand doodles, or ‘drawings’, are an effective way to bring life to your island’s beach. Make it look like you and your villagers have been hanging out and drawing in the sand with these doodles!
