Happy New Year everyone! As 2020 soon fades off into the realm of bad memories we found ourselves in a new month with new bugs, fish, and deep-sea creatures to catch in Animal Crossing: New Horizons!
With our Animal Crossing New Horizons: January Bugs and Fish Guide you will find a list of all the catchable critters which will be arriving this month and all the ones that will be leaving once it is over. As well as where to find them, what time of day they are active, their value in Bells, and much more besides. All to help you complete your collections and maybe make a little extra money on the side.
To kick us off we are taking a look at how things are going down up in the Northern Hemisphere. Where things this month are, well, rather quiet.
NORTHERN HEMISPHERE
Alright, so, you might be reading this and thinking “Chris, where is the list of the new bugs and fish for the Northern Hemisphere?”. And, well, there is none. Well, there are no new bugs or fish coming to or leaving from the Norther Hemisphere this month. In fact, the only category that is seeing any action is the Deep-Sea creatures list which you can read just below.
- There are still fish from last month to catch!
- These guys only spawn on snowballs
Still, it is not like there is nothing to catch this month. And it is a perfect time to check out our previous guides to see if there is anything you missed over the past couple months which are still active! As well as keep an eye on the game’s official Twitter to see what Pavé will be doing later this month.

So, yeah, there is absolutely nothing new coming to the Northern Hemisphere for the entirety of January across all three categories, and only the Deep-Sea Creatures see any action, and that is with two types of critter leaving.
So in all, a very quiet month, but plenty of time to catch any creatures that came along last month. Meanwhile, our friends in the south have an exciting time ahead of them!
