Animal Crossing: New Horizons Summer Update Introduces Swimming

Today, Nintendo announced a summer update for Animal Crossing: New Horizons for the Nintendo Switch that will include swimming, diving mechanics, new NPC encounters, the popular mermaid furniture series from past games, and more.

When swimming, there will also be a chance of meeting Pascal, a philosophical otter from previous games, who will offer you “cool” advice and DIY recipes for mermaid furniture in exchange for sea life.

The July update has also made changes to the sailing seagull Gulliver, giving him a new outfit that resembles a pirate.

At the end of the announcement, Nintendo revealed that another Animal Crossing: New Horizons summer update will be coming, ‘Summer Update #2’ in early August, saying to follow their twitter page to keep updated.

The last big Animal Crossing: New Horizons update introduced the character Lief, the ability to plant bushes, purchase art from Redd the fox, and a month-long wedding event.
