Thanks to a new partnership between The Sims, Netflix, and Shondaland, something exciting is coming to The Sims 4 this May: two brand-new Kits, plus a login event, all themed around the hit Netflix show Bridgerton. Starting from May 12, players can log into The Sims 4 over the next few weeks and access some unique limited-time items.
Plus, from May 14, The Sims 4 Lady Bridgerton’s Masquerade Ballroom Kit and The Sims 4 Lady Bridgerton’s Masquerade Ball Fashion Kit will become available. These Kits are also coming in a bundle titled The Sims 4 Lady Bridgerton’s Masquerade Ball, which also includes 3 exclusive items.
There’s a lot going on here from May right up until August, so let’s dive in and break down everything we know.
The Masquerade Ball Login Event
Starting with the event, The Masquerade Ball Login Event kicks off on May 12 and runs through until July 7. Over the course of four weeks, you can unlock special rewards simply by logging into The Sims 4.
22 or more items are set to be available during this event, including new Create-A-Sim items, Build/Buy mode content, a new recipe, and even a brand-new Trait. Some of the unlockable items include:
Week 1:
- A masquerade mask
- A cushioned pinboard (for the event’s collectibles)
- An ornate mantelpiece clock
- A fountain
Week 2:
- A table
- Pair of gloves
- Ball invitation
Week 3:
- A row of books
- An elegant dress
- Boots
- A vanity table
Week 4:
- A classic full-piece outfit with a coat
- A pie recipe
- A decorative hand fan
- Heart On Your Sleeve Trait
The Sims 4 Masquerade Ball Login Event is available for free in the base game and doesn’t appear to require the two new Kits or the bundle to take part. It also doesn’t appear that the unlockable items require any additional DLC, as they are not currently marked as so.

How to Take Part in the Login Event
Unlike past The Sims 4 events, you do not need to complete quests and tasks in-game to unlock the event items. You simply need to log into your game every week for four weeks, starting from Tuesday May 12.
To make sure you properly take part in the event and unlock the rewards, you need to do the following.
- Sign into your game via EA App, Steam, Epic Games, PlayStation and Xbox.
- Load the game on the set dates (see below).
- Enter the Event Screen as displayed in the Main Menu and in Live Mode.
- If required, claim all available rewards to access the new items. These will be permanently added into your game.
You will need to log into and enter your game every week to unlock all the items. After the fourth week, an additional two weeks are available to give players extra time if needed, if they miss any of the previous weeks.
The event ends on Tuesday July 7. Make sure you have claimed all the available items before then or you’ll miss your chance.

Masquerade Ball Kits and Bundle Release Dates and Prices
The Sims 4 Lady Bridgerton’s Masquerade Ball Bundle will become available on Thursday May 14 for PC and Mac via Steam, Origin, EA App, and Epic Games Store, PlayStation 4 | 5, and Xbox One | Xbox Series X/S. It will cost $9.99. The Bundle is limited time and is available up until August 14.
The Sims 4 Lady Bridgerton’s Masquerade Ballroom Kit and The Sims 4 Lady Bridgerton’s Masquerade Ball Fashion Kit are also available separately for $6.99 each.
Will You Need the Royalty & Legacy Expansion to Play the Event or Kits?
While the Masquerade Ball Event is very reminiscent of The Sims 4 Royalty & Legacy Expansion Pack and its gameplay and theme, it doesn’t appear that you specifically need the Expansion to fully access the Event or either Kit. The Masquerade Ball Event only requires you to log in weekly, while the Kits just add new items to the game.
However, while owning Royalty & Legacy isn’t mandatory, if you already have it, the Event and Kits will complement the Expansion Pack well, giving you more content for the Grand Ball social event.
You don’t necessarily need Royalty & Legacy, but you can host Grand Balls with it.
