The Marketplace, a brand-new in-game feature for The Sims 4, arrived on PC and Mac versions of the game last month, providing a new home for Kits and the new Maker Packs. As of April 16, the Marketplace now has a home on console ports of The Sims 4, including PlayStation and Xbox, thanks to a new update that’s just landed. That’s not all, as The Sims 4 across all platforms has also received a number of requested bug fixes.
The Sims 4 Marketplace on PlayStation and Xbox Consoles
Thanks to this update, The Sims 4 Marketplace is now available for PlayStation and Xbox consoles, granting access to the new Maker Packs, as well as providing a new home for Kits, as per the PC and Mac versions. There are a few things to be aware of with the Marketplace on console:
- Kits are part of the game files, with storage reserved for Maker Packs.
- Storage on Xbox and PlayStation are shared across simmer accounts on the same console.
- PlayStation consoles offer 16GB of storage.
- Xbox platforms allow up to 50GB of storage.
- If playing with Xbox Cloud Gaming, you may need to re-download any owned Maker Packs upon starting a new session, available through the Marketplace Download Manager before loading a save.
The Sims 4 Base Game Update
For The Sims 4 base game, some fixes have been applied:
- Pack content should now be enabled by default after installing instead of deactivated.
- The Gallery now includes a filter for Maker Packs.
- The golden star, which highlights newly-installed content in Create-A-Sim and Build Mode, now applies to Marketplace purchases.
- Deactivated packs won’t display as Not Owned upon loading a game.
- The Moola Wallet should now update correctly after making a purchase.
- Downloaded packs should no longer display an incorrect “Failed” message after being successful.
- “Connection error” should no longer occur after purchasing multiple packs in a row.
- Maker names should appear correctly for all Maker Packs.
- The Browse page filters should now reset when loading the Marketplace from the Gallery.
- Marketplace images should load correctly when accessing Marketplace from the Gallery.
- UI scaling improvements made for Marketplace and Main Menu.

Aside from the arrival of the Marketplace, console players should now receive previous updates from the PC version of The Sims 4, including improved filters for the Gallery.

- Further tweaks to ensuring Sims properly close their eyes when blinking.
- Prom from High School Years should now appear on Calendars again, for old and new saves. Prom goals should also be able to be completed.
- Pet and Horse data (Cats & Dogs, Horse Ranch) from pre-made households should now be retained. Only applies to new saves.
- Sims should now be automatically more inclined to talk to familiar Sims rather than strangers.
- Animals should now be able to be assigned to an Animal Shed (Cottage Living) after moving to a new lot, no longer stuck in the Inventory. Applies to new and old saves with the existing issue active.
On an added note, this update should also address some issues concerning obsessive Sim behavior, preventing them from interacting with strangers, flirting, and using certain objects. This particular issue is continuing to be monitored, so if you still have concerns, make sure to raise it.
