It’s not long before The Sims 4 My Wedding Stories Game Pack is released. The latest pack for The Sims 4 will allow players to plan their Sims’ dream weddings, covering every detail of their big day. To help prepare for its arrival, The Sims 4 has been given a new update. Along with the usual bug fixes, there’s new content and updates to the base game to look out for. Let’s dive in and see what the latest update brings to The Sims 4.
Whether or not you get My Wedding Stories, your Sims will probably want a place to get married. They can technically get married anywhere they want, but why not tie the knot at a designated wedding venue? Thanks to the new update, you can. There is a brand-new lot type now available called Wedding Venue. You can change the lot type by entering Build Mode and selecting the option in the top left corner of the screen. You can also find Wedding Venue lots made by other players in the Gallery, or upload your own and share your creations. If you purchase My Wedding Stories and enter the new world Tartosa, you’ll find a pre-built Wedding Venue lot there, waiting to be used.
Using the new Wedding Venue lot type, you can create places where your Sims can get married.
There’s new stuff to look out for in Create A Sim. If you look under Relationships when creating your Sim, you might notice a new option to choose from. If you have two young adult or older Sims, along with the Husband/Wife option, there’s now a Fiancé option. Selecting this relationship option has your two Sims already engaged, so you don’t have to work to get them engaged after you create them and move them into the world. This is useful if you want two Sims to already have an established relationship and want to dive right into planning their wedding.
There’s more in Create A Sim. Your Sims can now have French tip nails, which comes in different colors. For your Indian Sims, they can now wear a Bindi, which also comes in different colors, as well as the traditional red. The Bindi can be found under the Face Paint sub-category in the Make Up category.
As well as some new stuff, some base game formal outfits have new colors.
Also in Create A Sim, some base game and free Holiday Celebration Pack clothing items have been updated to include new colors. These include 5 adult dresses, 2 adult suit jackets, one child suit, one child dress, and one toddler suit. The newly added colors have been chosen to match other outfits, so your Sims can wear matching colors at their weddings. In addition, there is a brand-new toddler swimsuit that comes in different swatches.
It’s not just Create A Sim clothes that have new colors. If you look in Build Mode, you’ll find 3 base game objects that have also got new colors. These include the 2 base game wedding arches, as well as the pergola.

There’s one last thing in The Sims 4 that received an update. If you look at the music stations in the Options menu, you’ll see that the World music station, which originally came with the City Living Expansion, is now included in the base game, with 4 new songs added. Also, if you look in the Romance station, you’ll find that a new song has been added. This song, At Last by Maiya Sykes, was used in the official announcement trailer for My Wedding Stories. You can now enjoy it in The Sims 4 base game through the Romance music station.
That sums up the latest patch for The Sims 4, which should get players prepared for My Wedding Stories, which comes out February 17th on PC, Mac, Xbox One/Xbox Series X/S, and PS4/5.
