With summer now underway, a new season begins in The Sims 4. This newest season is titled “Take the Reins”, and with The Sims 4 roadmap laid out, it’s quite clear what is coming: horses! There have been a few recent leaks regarding a horse-themed Expansion Pack, and with the arrival of the Take the Reins season, these rumors are turning out to be true. It seems official that horses are very much making their way into The Sims 4 via a new Expansion, which according to these leaks is apparently titled The Sims 4 Horse Ranch. Horses have only appeared in one other game of The Sims, which was The Sims 3 Pets Expansion Pack. The last Expansion Pack to be released for The Sims 4 was Growing Together, which came out in March.
An official announcement trailer will be broadcast live on YouTube on 22nd June at 10am PT, which will reveal all. We will give more information on the new Expansion shortly after the official reveal.

The rumored horses Expansion isn’t the only new content as part of The Sims 4‘s Take the Reins season. Two more Kits are also coming to the game, but whether these will come before or after the Expansion is currently unknown. It’s likely that they’ll come after, since they were listed after the Expansion Pack in the roadmap. Recently, there was a survey inviting players to choose the next two Kits, one a Fashion Kit for either rainbow core style or goth fashion, the other a Build Kit for either medieval castle or high tech futurism.
This wasn’t the only announcement as part of the roadmap reveal. A new segment of Behind the Sims is also on its way. More content was also hinted at, but it didn’t specify what.
The arrival of the Take the Reins seasons marks the end of the Take Me Home season in The Sims 4. This previous season introduced 4 new Kits plus an update to the base game.
