The Sims 4 Season of Love Begins With Roadmap Revealing Upcoming Content

As one season ends in The Sims 4, another begins, with this one being titled Season of Love. Although there isn't a timeframe for the length of this season, we do at least know that some new updates, Kits, and an Expansion Pack is on the way.

The Sims 4 Season of Love Begins With Roadmap Revealing Upcoming Content

For The Sims 4, the Cause a Sensation season has recently come to an end, with all announced content in that roadmap since released. Now though, we move onto The Sims 4‘s next season, which has been given the title, as well as the theme, of Season of Love. This brand-new season, which started today, was announced via the customary 30-second teaser video which hints at what is to come in the next few months. As per usual, details right now are a little sparse, but we can take whatever information we can from the roadmap teaser to get some ideas of what we can expect and look forward to.

2 Free Stylish Updates

First to be announced was two free notable updates for The Sims 4, pointedly labelled as “stylish”. These point to being about fashion, and the accompanying images in the teaser showed a hairstyle and a hand with long nails. The updates could be for new hairstyles, which have been added into the base game over the years. Customizable fingernails and toenails came courtesy of a free update coinciding with The Sims 4 Spa Day Game Pack Refresh. Since then, some DLC have added new nail styles, including Carnaval Streetwear Kit, Werewolves Game Pack, and Poolside Splash Kit. Could one of these updates be adding even more nails to style your Sims with?

Something else that was noted from the teaser was the accompanying tagline “Polished my look for a sultry splash.” Is this an indicator of updates relating to swimming pools in the base game? Swimming pools are prevalent in the teaser, so it seems likely.

The roadmap teaser seems to hint at new content around swimming pools.

2 Destination Kits

Another thing to watch out for in The Sims 4‘s Season of Love is the arrival of two new Kits. The catalogue of Kits in The Sims 4 keeps growing and shows no signs of stopping, with the addition of two more. However, these have been stated to be “Destination Kits”. Since Kits are small, the inclusion of whole new worlds to play in seems a little farfetched, but not new objects or clothing with destination themes. For example, Incheon Arrivals Kit featured clothing inspired by fashionable airport styles seen at Seoul, and Fashion Street Kit had clothing and accessories heavily influenced by the real world Fashion Street in Mumbai, India. These two Kits could well be following suit.

Breaking down the scene shown in the teaser regarding this particular content, we see a swimming pool with a fancy-looking waterfall feature, plus a café-like building complete with awning and checkered flooring. The tagline also says “A little nectar led to a provocative plunge…” Perhaps the Kits are meant to complement the updates mentioned? The idea of new swimming pool related content is becoming more likely.

A Flirtatious Expansion Pack

The last announcement made for the new season was a new upcoming Expansion Pack. Details of this are a little more uncertain than the updates and Kits, but whatever it is, it will follow along with the romantic theme of the season. What the Expansion Pack itself will be is still mostly a mystery. The tagline with this particular announcement mentions a “Fountain of Desire” and “Made waves, but we WooHoo’d anyway…”

We’ve already had a whole Game Pack centering around romance and weddings with The Sims 4 My Wedding Stories. Other romance-themed packs include The Sims 4 Romantic Garden Stuff. The last Expansion Pack released for The Sims 4 was For Rent, which introduced multi-tenancy properties set in Southeast Asia. My Wedding Stories added Tartosa, an Italian-inspired world. Perhaps this new Expansion Pack will be modeled after Paris, which is also known as the city of love?

My Wedding Stories had a big romance theme going, so what could this new romance-themed Expansion bring to The Sims 4?

The new Season of Love and its roadmap have just been revealed, so at the moment, details are a little sparse. More information should follow soon though, so keep an eye out for more updates on what’s coming this season in The Sims 4.
