A new patch will soon arrive in The Sims 4 seeking to address several bugs, both minor and major. The laundry list was released on January 6th, with a compilation of bugs set to be fixed in the next update. We’ve compiled the latest laundry list so you can find out everything that should be fixed for The Sims 4 when the update lands.
Top 5 Most Voted Fixes
These are the top 5 fixes most voted for by players.
- “Server Error while uploading to Gallery/Library” is less likely to occur, but provides a more informative pop-up message if it does.
- Clothing should not show under privacy mosaic for remaining age groups after previous fix (namely Newborns, Infants, and Toddlers).
- Sims should now tend to Infants instead of standing idle, which caused issues. Other Infant fixes are continuing to be addressed.
- Memorial Pictures and Graduation Photos should now display image instead of being blank. Does not fix currently broken pictures/photos but will prevent issues in older saves.
- Sims employed by a Small Business should no longer get “Miss School/Work” message when opening Small Business while away at school or work.
You should be able to set your Graduation and Memorial Photos without any further issues.
Save Corruption Issue
The upcoming update for The Sims 4 should fix two notable save issues.
- Open street objects should not be “shelved” and should now be removed when travelling to an apartment building.
- Players should no longer get stuck in load loop or booted to Manage Worlds when setting Custom Venue’s Schedule with Romantic Orientation Role criteria.
Photos and Paintings Data Loss
Along with the notorious issue regarding Graduation Photos and Memorial Pictures, other fixes have been addressed related to photos and paintings in The Sims 4.
- Paintings created with Paint by Reference should no longer turn white when placed in Inventory after reloading game.
- Photos taken with phone/camera should no longer turn black when wall mounted and game has been relaunched. Does not apply to instances of already-broken photos.
- Similar to previous fix, phone/camera photos should not turn back if put in Inventory or storage chests and game is relaunched. Also does not apply to already-broken photos.
- “Create Copy” on painting should no longer result in blank white canvas when placed on wall.
- Celebrity Autographs should no longer turn black when displayed on wall and game is rebooted. Does not fix currently-broken autographs.
Paintings captured from a scene shouldn’t go blank anymore.
Updated and Corrected Create-A-Sim Items
Four instances of CAS items from The Sims 4 have been fixed so they should now appear in-game and be available to use in CAS.
- Double Dutch Braid from Adventure Awaits now appears correctly in Light Brown variant.
- The Child’s water outfit navy variant from Adventure Awaits should now be available.
- Bangs Medium hair and all color variants should now be available for Child Sims from Horse Ranch.
- The floral face paint from Enchanted by Nature should now appear for Toddlers.
List of Bug Fixes for Base Game and DLC
Here are a bunch of upcoming fixes for The Sims 4 base game and many of its DLC.
Base Game Fixes
- Sims should now receive Need gains while away at work.
- Similarly, Infants and Toddlers away at daycare should receive Need gains, but no longer gain Hygiene.
- The “Fight” interaction should now only be available on Sims who have a negative relationship with the other Sim.
Seasons EP Fixes
- Sims should stop dying of overheating when they are wearing the correct clothing.
- A previous patch fixed an issue with over-generating sand sculptures on rainy beaches. This should now be fully fixed.
Growing Together EP Fixes
The “Pull to Stand” Milestone for Infants was difficult to trigger due to the specific circumstances where an Infant needs to be near an object where they can pull themselves up. To increase the chances of this Milestone happening, Infants placed in a crib now have the option to Attempt Pull to Stand. Additionally, hovering over the greyed-out Practice Standing interaction advises to place the Infant in a crib.

Businesses & Hobbies EP Fixes
An issue has been addressed regarding Small Business employees, where they would leave work after 2-3 hours if the business was 5-stars and selected customer criteria was supervised customer only. All Small Business employees should now remain at work while the business is open.
Adventure Awaits EP Fixes
- The v-neck tee should no longer have a visible seam on the shoulder when worn by Sims downloaded from the Gallery.
- Imaginary Friends should no longer reset and disappear from the Relationship Panel after returning from another lot.
- Custom Venues should now save Roles and Schedules with a custom role containing a Romantic Orientation criteria.
Werewolves Game Pack Fixes
- Werewolf offspring of werewolves should no longer have a black texture and Teens should have a pelt upon aging up. Entering CAS fixes any current issues.
Multi-pack Fixes
- Trees should no longer block previews of lots in the Gallery.
- Maids and Butlers should now mop puddles instead of endlessly (and fruitlessly) vacuuming them.
At least the Butlers and Maids should stop obsessively trying to clean puddles with vacuum cleaners!
Bug Fixes Still Work-in-Progress for Future Updates
While this next update for The Sims 4 should fix several issues, there are other bugs still being worked on. These should hopefully be addressed in a future update. For now, here are the notable bug fixes in progress.
- Investigating a fix for console versions causing the game to crash after update 2.13.
- Looking into the lack of numbers for Turn Ons/Offs in CAS and the like/dislike button.
- Continuing to find a fix for eyelids not fully closing.
- Looking into an issue with Partnered Sims turning into Siblings.
- Investigating Sims obsessively using certain objects.
Create-A-Sim and Build Mode Tagging Updates for Base Game and DLC
Many tags for various objects in The Sims 4 have had their tags updated for more accurate sorting. Additionally, the base game’s Lump of Clay and Cats & Dogs‘ Stack o’ Books has some new gameplay functionality.

Rumor: The Next Expansion Pack for The Sims 4
We don’t normally report on rumors, simply because they don’t always turn out to be true, but with The Sims 4, rumors and leaks are usually correct. In this case, there are reports that a brand-new Expansion Pack for The Sims 4 is set to be releasing sometime in February 2026, themed around royalty.
This will make it the 21st Expansion for The Sims 4, and could possibly be its last, with development of Project Rene and another project for The Sims progressing. However, this does not necessarily mean the end for The Sims 4.
Keep in mind this is just based on leaked information, so once we have more definite news, we’ll update you as soon as possible.
