A new event is coming to The Sims 4 this summer season, called Nature’s Calling. It focuses on two things: being outdoors and the Handiness Skill. The event will begin later this month (June) and run into August. As with past events, you can expect to get rewards such as new Create-A-Sim items, objects, traits, and exclusive collectibles. There’s a lot you need to know about the Nature’s Calling Event, so let’s take a look at everything there is to know so you’re well prepared.
What Nature’s Calling Is About
In the Nature’s Calling Event, your Sims will need to venture into the great outdoors and work on their Handiness Skill to discover a long-hidden secret of nature.
One day, your Sim steps outside and hears a faint voice. Soon though, the voice is fleeting and disappears, as if taken by the wind. Their curiosity aroused, your Sim sets off on a quest to discover the source of the mysterious voice.
During the event, your Sim will spend more time outdoors, level up their Handiness Skill with new woodworking recipes, and uncover the mysteries of nature.
Nature’s Calling Event Start and End Dates
The Nature’s Calling Event will officially begin on June 24th from 9am PST. You have until August 5th at the very latest to complete all the quests and claim all the rewards. This gives you 6 weeks in total.
How Nature’s Calling Works
You can complete the Nature’s Calling Event with a new game and household, or play with a pre-existing household.
As you work through the tasks given in each quest, you’ll earn Event Points and unlock new rewards that you can claim.
The Nature’s Calling Event lasts a total of 6 weeks. The first four weeks include two new quests each week, with the last two weeks giving you extra time to complete the event if needed. Altogether, you’ll have 8 quests to complete.
How to Take Part
To take part in Nature’s Calling, you need to do the following:
- You’ll need to log into your EA Account and be online.
- Load The Sims 4 and either create a new household in a new or existing save, or play an existing household.
- In Live Mode, you should see a pop-up message introducing the event. You may need to give it a few seconds. Make sure the game isn’t paused.
- Close the pop-up message and you should see the first set of quests appear in the top left corner of your screen.
Rewards
During the event, you can bring up the Event Screen at any time in Live Mode to view your current quests and see all your rewards, claimed or yet to earn.
Complete the given tasks in the list for each quest. If you need help with a task, hover over it in the list and you’ll see more information on what to do. As tasks are completed, you’ll earn Event Points. Earn enough of these and you will unlock a reward. You need to open the Event Screen and Claim the reward to get it.
Rewards you’ve unlocked and claimed will appear in Create-A-Sim, Build Mode, your Sim’s Inventory, or the household inventory, depending on the reward. You can learn where to find the reward by viewing it in the Event Screen. To help you further with locating rewards, you can use the Special > Event Rewards filter in Create-A-Sim and Build Mode.
Optional Tasks
Nature’s Calling offers something a little extra if you have certain Expansion Packs installed for The Sims 4. If you have these Expansions, you’ll have extra tasks you can complete. These are totally optional and grant you extra Event Points. However, if you do not own all or any of these Expansions, you will not miss out. You will still be able to fully complete the Nature’s Calling Event and claim all the available rewards.
These bonus tasks will be noted in the list along with the standard tasks, with the word “Optional” written before them. If you hover over the optional task, it will tell you what Expansion Pack it is associated with.
There is something very important to note if you want to complete any optional tasks. If you complete all the standard tasks in a quest, any remaining optional tasks will disappear and you’ll lose your chance to do them. Therefore, make sure you prioritize the optional tasks first before focusing on the standard tasks.
The optional tasks are all from The Sims 4 Expansion Packs. Specifically, there are 4 Expansion Packs that provide extra tasks. These Expansions are:
- Cats & Dogs
- Snowy Escape
- Horse Ranch
- Lovestruck
