Oasis Springs is one of three free worlds that come with The Sims 4 base game, along with Willow Creek and Newcrest. This world is quite unique for its desert setting and Spanish-influenced houses. It’s a suitable setting for players who prefer to live somewhere more arid and rural. There’s a lot that comes packaged with Oasis Springs, and it’s an attractive world. This guide will show you everything Oasis Springs has to offer, including all the residential and commercial properties, the Sims who reside there, all the collectibles you can find, and even how to find the hidden grotto!
We have plenty of The Sims 4 world guides, including these:
An Overview of Oasis Springs
If a dry desert setting in The Sims 4 sounds appealing, then Oasis Springs is the perfect place for that. However, it’s not all sand and cacti. Parts of Oasis Springs feature luscious green grass and carefully-landscaped areas, particularly in the more affluent neighborhoods. There are a few reasons why Oasis Springs is an ideal place to live (or even just visit):
- There are lots of different collectibles available to find.
- There are plenty of affordable homes for Sims just starting out.
- There are empty lots waiting to be built on.
- There are 6 neighborhoods with something different to offer.
- If you have The Sims 4 Seasons Expansion, it’s a dry warm world with no cold snowy season.
Climate in Oasis Springs (Seasons Expansion)
If you want to get away from the cold weather, you’ve come to the right place. All year round, Oasis Springs offers arid conditions, with the occasional thunderstorm to break up the dry weather. Things become more comfortably mild in the colder season, but expect things to get scorching hot in the summer. Your Sims will be wearing their summer attire almost every day!
Collectibles in Oasis Springs
Oasis Springs offers plenty of collectibles to find, including rocks to dig, dirt to sift through, frog hiding spots, spots for fishing, and harvestables. Below is a complete list of every collectible you can find in Oasis Springs, broken down into each neighborhood and collectible type.

Lots in Oasis Springs
Just like Willow Creek, Oasis Springs is broken up into 6 distinctive neighborhoods, including a big park. Each of these have something different to offer, varying in the prices of the properties or the Sims who live there. No neighborhood is alike.
We’ll take you through every Lot in each of the 6 neighborhoods, describing what you can find there, why you should live there and visit, and the potential each Lot has. We’ll also show you the hidden area of Oasis Springs, Forgotten Grotto.
Acquisition Butte
Description: “Residents of Acquisition Butte are paying premium for the gorgeous, rocky overlook and the sweet sound of solitude.”
Affluista Mansion
Lot Type | Residential |
Occupied | Yes (Landgraab Household) |
Cost | §278,612 |
Size | 50 x 50 |
Bedrooms | 2 |
Bathrooms | 3 |
Lot Trait | Private Dwelling |
Affluista Mansion is a modern lavish mansion that is home to the Landgraab family. This home is simply incredible. If you don’t want the Landgraab’s hogging this place, boot them out and move your own Sims in – that is if you can afford the hefty price tag! It is well, well worth it though. You’ll really be living it up in Oasis Springs!
Here’s a quick tour of Affluista Mansion:
- Ground Floor: A huge living area in the center, with a dining room and study on the left, and a kitchen on the right. There’s also a bathroom downstairs.
- Backyard: Outside is beautifully landscaped, along with a patio area containing a table-and-chair set-up, lounge chairs, and an enormous swimming pool!
- First Floor: Upstairs has a landing leading off to two huge bedrooms, each having their own bathrooms and balcony. There’s a balcony and seating area from the landing as well, so you can enjoy the amazing views of Acquisition Butte.

Yuma Heights
Lot Type | Residential |
Occupied | No |
Cost | §297,883 |
Size | 40 x 30 |
Bedrooms | 4 |
Bathrooms | 4 |
Lot Trait | None |
Yuma Heights is the other mansion occupying Acquisition Butte, and it is free to move a household into… if they have nearly 300,000 Simoleons! Yuma Heights has a different style to Affluiesta Mansion, having a classic Spanish style instead, but it is huge and very beautiful. Any Sim would be lucky to live here!
- Ground Floor: A huge living room, dining room, kitchen, and bathroom.
- Backyard: There’s not actually much of a backyard, at least not a landscaped one like Affluiesta Mansion. Feel free to redecorate this space to give it some more landscape, unless you like the rustic desert style.
- First Floor: There are a whopping 4 double bedrooms, along with 3 bathrooms, so no one will be fighting for the bathroom in the morning!
- Second Floor: Don’t miss the top floor, where there’s a surprise: another bedroom! This one features a big balcony offering views of the beautiful vista.

Forgotten Grotto
Forgotten Grotto is a hidden area in Oasis Springs, very much like Sylvian Glade in Willow Creek. There are 2 places you can gain access to Forgotten Grotto: at the base of the cliff in Acquisition Butte, or at the top of the cliff at the top left end of Desert Bloom Park. The entrance is distinctive with its cave opening covered by planks of wood.
- Grotto entrance at Desert Bloom Park.
- Grotto entrance at Acquisition Butte.
To access Forgotten Grotto, you first need to have a Sim with level 10 Handiness Skill. Forgotten Grotto is completely inaccessible without this requirement.
Once your Sim has level 10 Handiness, you can direct them to Break Open the entrance by pulling off the planks. The entryway clear, you can now send them to Explore the cave opening. This prompts an off-screen adventure.
- The entrance looks like a forgotten mine shaft.
- Your Sim needs level 10 Handiness to remove the planks.
- After removing the planks, Explore to find the Grotto.
- Select the correct responses to reach the Grotto.
To discover the Forgotten Grotto, you need to select the correct responses, which are:
- Take Wide Path
- Climb Ladder
- Step Onto the Ledge
With these steps taken, you can choose to Travel to the Forgotten Grotto. Select OK to confirm.
The Forgotten Grotto is quite a wondrous place. It not only is full of collectibles and has some fishing spots, but there’s even a toilet if you need it! After unlocking the Forgotten Grotto, you can visit there any time, but you must go there via Acquisition Butte or Desert Bloom Park.
- Inside the Forgotten Grotto.
- Yep, that’s an actual functioning toilet found in the Grotto.

Size | 20 x 15 |
Bedrooms | 2 |
Bathrooms | 1 |
Lot Trait | None |
As a starter Sim, you’ll be stretching your finances if you choose to move into this Lot, but its charm will quickly win you over. It’s a nice little spot not far from the community garden, overlooking the stream. Despite looking small on the outside, it’s surprisingly spacious, not to mention rustically stylish, complete with two decent-sized bedrooms. Any small family will be very comfortable living here. Just be aware that there isn’t much of an outdoor space, but you can always delete the plants out front if you wanted to put something down.

Pebble Burrow
Lot Type | Residential |
Occupied | No |
Cost | §1,500 |
Size | 30 x 20 |

Lot Trait | None |
This is the completely blank Lot of Bedrock Strait. This is a good place to build a home or other type of Lot. It’s spacious, cheap, and in a good spot in the neighborhood. Also, if any of your Sims like to go fishing, there’s a path right next to this land that leads down to the stream and a fishing spot.
Nookstone
Lot Type | Residential |
Occupied | No |
Cost | §12,959 |
Size | 20 x 15 |
Bedrooms | 1 |
Bathrooms | 1 |
Lot Trait | None |
This house is so small it could almost qualify as a Tiny Residential Home, if you have The Sims 4 Tiny Living Stuff Pack. It’s also the cheapest home available. It might be small, not to mention a bit basic, but even a single starter Sim will have funds left over after moving in to spruce it up a little. There’s some space in the front yard as well, if you want to place something outside.
If you did want to add an extra bedroom, one idea might be to convert the living room space into the second bedroom, then merge the living space with the dining/kitchen area.
- Nookstone.

Cost | §16,982 |

Bedrock Strait is just full of affordable starter homes, and Sandtrap Flat is no exception. This also has the biggest outdoor space, even if you want to build a pool! To start with, it’s not that big and only has one bedroom, but with all that space on the porch, you can always add extra rooms.

Lot Type | Residential |
Occupied | No |
Cost | §3,500 |
Size | 30 x 20 |
Bedrooms | None |
Bathrooms | None |
Lot Trait | None |
Dusty Turf is an empty Lot just waiting to be built on. The land isn’t too expensive, and there’s plenty of space. You can build a home here, or some other Lot that Oasis Springs might not have yet, like a café, bowling alley, spa, or restaurant.
Raffia Quinta
Lot Type | Residential |
Occupied | No |
Cost | §37,592 |
Size | 20 x 15 |
Bedrooms | 2 |
Bathrooms | 2 |
Lot Trait | None |
Raffia Quinta looks at first glance like an affordable starter home. It isn’t, unfortunately. It’s not too outrageously expensive, but new Sims will have to save up before they can move in – or use cheats. It’s not huge by any means, but it is stylish and appealing. It comes with a living space, kitchen, two modest-sized bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a patioed backyard.
- Raffia Quinta.

Lot Type | Residential |
Occupied | No |
Cost | §63,448 |
Size | 30 x 20 |
Bedrooms | 3 |
Bathrooms | 2 |
Lot Trait | None |
Like Raffia Quinta, isn’t easy to be fooled by the smaller size, but this one is even more expensive and out of reach for a starter household. Still, if you can afford it, it is a desirable home. It has a living area, kitchen, two bathrooms, three bedrooms, and a comfortably-sized backyard.
- Springscape.
- Springscape street view.

Lot Type | Residential |
Occupied | No |
Cost | §44,368 |
Size | 30 x 20 |
Bedrooms | 2 |
Bathrooms | 1 |
Lot Trait | None |
Parched Prospect is not the place for starter homes, more like the sort of homes you’d move into after saving up since your first starter home. Vista Quarry is another attractive home that more well-off Sims might have their eyes on. This place has a living area, kitchen, bathroom, two bedrooms, and an office. There’s also a nicely-landscaped backyard. If you wanted an extra bedroom or bathroom, you could convert the office.

The Futures Past
Lot Type | Museum |
Cost | §90,036 |
Size | 30 x 20 |
If you enjoy visiting museums, The Futures Past is the place to go in Oasis Springs. Admittedly, this place is a bit lacking as a community lot. There’s not a lot to do here, except look at some art. Don’t be afraid to flesh this place out a bit more. Add some easels so your Sim can make their own artwork. Adding a woodworking table or some musical instruments wouldn’t hurt either.
- The Futures Past.
- Ground floor of The Futures Past.
- First floor of The Futures Past.
- Second floor of The Futures Past.
The Solar Flare
Lot Type | Lounge |
Cost | §59,015 |

Lot Trait | None |
An empty lot with bags of potential. This is the most expensive blank lot, but it’s still affordable. It’s also the biggest. Don’t waste this empty space. Fill it with a bustling restaurant, a luxurious spa, a lively bowling alley, anything! If you don’t live in Skyward Palms, give your Sims a good excuse to visit with a popular hangout spot.

Occupied | No |
Cost | §114,595 |
Size | 30 x 20 |

- Ground Floor: There’s a big living room, a smaller living space off the kitchen, a large dining room, and a bathroom.
- Backyard: Adorned with arid desert plants, this patio space could be transformed to add a swimming pool, unless you want to keep the landscaping intact.

Residents of Oasis Springs
Let’s take a closer look at all the lucky Sims who get to live in lush Oasis Springs. Altogether, there are 4 households, all with different backstories and combinations of Sims. No household is alike! We’ll breakdown each household so you can get to know each Sim better individually, potentially influencing how you want to play them and the stories they may have waiting to be told.
Caliente Household
Residence: Sultry Springside, Skyward Palms
Funds: §28,500
There’s the fabulous Caliente girls… and Don Lothario. Oh dear. This could get very interesting! All the ladies will inevitably be swooning over Don as he easily wins them over with his irresistible charms… and then promptly breaks all their hearts – or will he? Maybe there’s a way to hook the attention of all 3 women and get away with it without any one of them realizing. That’s an interesting challenge to take on, if you’re interested!
Dina’s a familiar face in The Sims series. Weirdly enough, here she’s working as an Assistant Dishwasher. If she wants to be “Fabulously Wealthy” like her Aspiration suggests, she might want to set her sights higher. However, don’t be so quick to dismiss her early stages in the Culinary career. With her head start in Mixology, she might end up making her fortune from being a Master Mixologist. Or she could just marry someone very rich!

Don Lothario, forever breaking hearts of all the ladies in The Sims. Is he any different in The Sims 4? Only time will tell, but something tells me he will! He’s not currently employed, probably because he’s too busy spending his time flirting. He has all the right traits and Aspiration for being the perfect romanticizer – but watch out! His Noncommittal trait suggests that he doesn’t like to settle. Don’t be surprised if he causes upset with other Sims!

Katrina, the mother of Dina and Nina. She too would probably fall for Don’s charms. She’s doing quite well for herself, working her way up the Entertainment ladder. Her traits and Aspiration are all romance-focused, although she does interestingly have the Family-Oriented trait. Perhaps she’s looking to expand her family, or just loves her daughters?

Nina may well be another victim of Don Lothario – or not, if she chooses to reject his inevitable advances. Like the others in the Caliente household, she is romance-oriented, but Nina is a little different, having a more villainous side to her. Her traits and Aspiration might give her cause to keep a close eye on her. It might not be Don Lothario breaking hearts around here – unless he’s the target!

Landgraab Household
Residence: Affluiesta Mansion, Acquisition Butte
Funds: §85,000
The Landgraab’s are another familiar bunch of faces making their regular appearance in The Sims, making their appearance in The Sims 4. If you’re not familiar with them, let’s just say they’re not necessarily the most pleasant bunch of Sims around. Still, they live in probably the most beautiful and expensive home in Oasis Springs, so at least that’s one upside. Plus, if you enjoy playing the villain, this household might be for you!
Geoffrey Landgraab is an interesting character. He’s outgoing, good, and family-oriented… apparently. Wait, I thought the Landgraab’s were meant to be unpleasant? Maybe Geoffrey isn’t… unless it’s all a front? Anyhow, he’s doing well – he’s already living in an amazing home, but his career is going good, and he wants to have a successful family based on his selected Aspiration. Why don’t you decide for yourself how Geoffrey will play the game? Will he be the good guy he claims to be after all… or do you think it’s more fun for him to be the bad guy?

Roomies Household
Residence: Cacti Casa, Parched Prospect

How the Roomies household has been described is like playing a romantic sitcom. Sounds like a cool idea, so why not? This household is made up of four Sims; three men and a woman. They’re all very different to each other, so it should be fun to see how they play off each other.
Gavin, the “intellectual” Sim of the Roomies, according to the description. He has ambitions to be a successful writer, and is already on his journey to do just that. Will his ambitions clash with his roommates, or will he be indifferent to them?

With interests in fitness and computers, what are his real ambitions? And how will he get on with his roommates? If he is a ladies man, is he as bad as the notorious Don Lothario?

Mitchell, stated to be easygoing, and based on his current career and his traits, it’s easy to believe that. He is interested in being a Joke Star, or is that a joke in itself? Who knows! There’s something quite likeable about this Sim though, so watch out for him. He might be labelled as lazy, but don’t underestimate him.

Zoe, the sole female of the household listed as the perky one. Her traits and Aspiration definitely seem to back this up. She’s not yet employed, but there’s something about this young Sim that seems endearing, like she’s got the potential to go out into the world and do really well in whatever she pursues. Plus, she seems the type to win everyone over with her good-natured style.

Zest Household
Residence: Slipshod Mesquite, Bedrock Strait
Funds: §3,590
The final household living in Oasis Springs is the Zest household, made up of just one Sim: Johnny. If you’re new to The Sims 4 (or even The Sims entirely), Johnny is the best pre-made Sim to get yourself started with. All the other households have multiple Sims who live in huge houses, which might make things overwhelming if you’re not familiar with the game and how it works. Johnny is a good place to start.
Johnny, what can we say about him? He’s young, single, has yet to make any friends, or any real big impression on anyone. However, that might be yet to change, based on his ambitions to be a jokester. He’s already signed up as an Entertainer, and he has all the right traits to make it, so go for it!
