2. Echoes From the Cave Quest Walkthrough
Echoes From the Cave is the first quest in Week 4 and the longest, with numerous tasks. To complete it, players must max out the Handiness Skill to reach hidden areas and craft the Wooden Throne. Two optional tasks are available if you have the The Sims 4 Horse Ranch Expansion Pack installed. Completing this quest grants 100 Event Points.
2.1. How to Craft The Wooden Throne
To craft the Wooden Throne:
- Reach Level 8 Handiness Skill. Practice by crafting objects at the woodworking bench or reading Handiness Skill books. Sims in a Focused mood build the skill faster.
- Claim the Wooden Throne reward from the Event Screen. If you lack enough points, complete other tasks first.
- At Level 8 Handiness, select the woodworking table and choose Craft Furniture > The Wooden Throne. It costs 500 Simoleons.
- Wait for crafting to finish.
2.2. How to Use The Wooden Throne
Once crafted, use the Wooden Throne:
- Enter Build Mode and open the Household Inventory.
- Locate the Wooden Throne.
- Place it anywhere on your Sim’s lot.
- Exit Build Mode.
- Select the Wooden Throne and choose Use Bathroom.
- Wait for your Sim to finish.
2.3. How to Spend Time Outdoors
This recurring task appears one final time in Week 4. Send your Sim outside and wait for the Spend Time Outdoors Moodlet to expire. You must leave your Sim outdoors for 3 in-game hours for the Moodlet to time out.
If you have your woodworking table outside, you can complete this task while leveling up your Handiness.
2.4. How to Travel to Duke’s Hall (Optional Task – Horse Ranch Expansion Pack)
This task is exclusive to players with the The Sims 4 Horse Ranch Expansion Pack:
- Open the Sim’s phone and select Travel.
- In the world of Chestnut Ridge, locate the park Duke’s Hall, next to the Equestrian Center in New Appaloosa.
2.5. How to Spectate Competitions at the Equestrian Center (Optional Task – Horse Ranch Expansion Pack)
Once at Duke’s Hall in Chestnut Ridge:
- Select the Equestrian Center and choose Spectate Competitions.
- Wait for your Sim to finish watching. It can take several in-game hours.
2.6. How to Return to Desert Bloom Park
Week 4 requires returning to Desert Bloom Park in Oasis Springs, visited previously in Week 3.
Use the phone to travel there. It’s recommended to max out the Handiness Skill to Level 10 before traveling, as the next task requires it. Otherwise, you’ll waste time going back and forth to raise the skill.
You’ll need to revisit Desert Bloom Park this week, but save yourself some time by maxing out your Handiness before heading over.
2.7. How to Break the Cave Open and Explore its Secrets
At Desert Bloom Park:
- Ensure your Sim has Level 10 Handiness Skill. If not, continue crafting at the woodworking table or reading skill books.
- Once at Level 10, return to the boarded-up cave entrance at the top of the park.
- Select the cave and choose Break Open.
- After it opens, select it again and choose Explore.
- Your Sim will go on an off-screen adventure. When prompted, select the following options in sequence: Take Wide Path > Climb Ladder > Step Onto the Ledge > Travel to Grotto.
- Finally, select OK to travel to Forgotten Grotto.
2.8. How to Take Photos in the Cave
Inside Forgotten Grotto, take photos to complete this task:
- Open your Sim’s phone and locate the Camera app. It’s a turquoise icon with a camera symbol.
- Select Camera > Take Photo. This is at the bottom of the app list.
- Capture at least one photo inside the Grotto. You can take up to 5 shots at once of anything within the cave.
After taking photos, leave the Forgotten Grotto and share your discovery:
- Travel to another lot using the phone.
- Or head home via the Home icon or the cave exit’s Go Home prompt.
Find any Sim, introduce yourself if needed, and choose Share Findings About Forgotten Grotto. You must share with two different Sims to complete this task.
Accessing the Forgotten Grotto is a big achievement, so naturally your Sim is excited to share their discovery.
3. Can Plants Whisper? Quest Walkthrough
Can Plants Whisper? is the final quest of Week 4 and of the Nature’s Calling Event. It focuses on PlantSims and Magic Beans. 100 Event Points are available for completing this quest.
3.1. How to Purchase a Magic PlantSim Stump
To purchase the Magic PlantSim Stump:
- Enter Build Mode on your Sim’s lot.
- Open the Outdoor Activities category.
- Locate the Magic PlantSim Stump. If it’s hard to find, search its name in the bar. It’s a base-game item and can be filtered under The Sims 4 base game content.
- Purchase the Magic PlantSim Stump for 410 Simoleons and place it anywhere on your Sim’s lot.
3.2. How to Ask Two Sims About PlantSims
Your Sim wants to learn about PlantSims:
- Select any Sim and choose Ask About PlantSims. Introduce yourself first if you’re not acquainted.
- Repeat this with a second Sim.
Each Sim will give you a random Magic Bean. While there are six different types of Magic Beans to collect for transforming the stump into the Mystical Magic Bean Portal Tree, for this quest you only need to place one Magic Bean.
If you ask some Sims about PlantSims, they’ll gift you a random Magic Bean for your new Magic Stump.
3.3. How to Place a Magic Bean in the Stump
To place the Magic Bean:
- Select the Magic PlantSim Stump and choose Plant Magic Bean.
- Pick any Magic Bean from your Sim’s inventory to complete the task. Feel free to place the second one as well if you wish.
With the Magic Stump and Magic Bean, there’s just one last thing to do to wrap up the Nature’s Calling Event.
4. What’s Next in the Nature’s Calling Event?
The Nature’s Calling Event in The Sims 4 concludes after you place a Magic Bean on the Magic PlantSim Stump. There are no further quests or tasks for this event.
