A brand-new Event has just launched in The Sims 4 base game, to coincide with the release of the new upcoming Expansion Pack, Royalty & Legacy. The new Lost Legacies Event will allow you to unlock regal rewards in The Sims 4 by completing a series of quests, in which you must do a number of tasks. Starting with Week 1, the first two quests of The Sims 4 Lost Legacies Event include The Arrival and Darong Beginnings.
We will cover each quest, how to complete all the tasks, and what rewards you can unlock this week. We’ll also tell you how to take part in the Lost Legacies Event, plus share some information regarding the newest base game update for The Sims 4 and the announcement of two brand-new Kits coming out later this month.
Note that in this week’s series of quests, there are no optional tasks requiring additional The Sims 4 DLC. However, an extra reward item is available exclusive to the Life & Death Expansion Pack.
1. How to Take Part in The Sims 4 Lost Legacies Event
The Sims 4 Lost Legacies Event was included as part of the February 3 base game update (after a slight delay). Once you load the game after downloading this update, you will see the Events panel in the Main Menu, as well as the Event UI for the Lost Legacies Event in the top corner during Live Mode.
To begin the first quest (The Arrival), you need to load your saved game, and then wait a few seconds. Make sure the game is not paused. You should get a pop-up notification officially starting the first quest.

Load a game of your choice, let Live Mode play for a few seconds, and the pop-up message will officially start the quest.
You must complete all the tasks in the first quest before you can begin the next quest, Darong Beginnings. Another pop-up message will inform you that you have completed the first quest. Wait a few seconds (with the game unpaused) and the second quest will begin.
As you complete tasks in the Lost Legacies Event, you unlock rewards. You must claim the rewards from the Event UI. Enter the UI, then select the Claim All button to access all the rewards you’ve unlocked so far. To get all the available rewards in Week 1, you must complete both quests.
After finishing the second quest, you will be notified that the quest is over.

To claim rewards (and find out when the next quests become available), you can open the Event Screen.
2. All Rewards for Week 1 of the Lost Legacies Event
Up to 6 different rewards are available in Week 1 of the Lost Legacies Event in The Sims 4. Make sure the rewards are claimed in the Event Screen to access them. Event rewards appear in Create-A-Sim, Build Mode, your Sim’s Inventory, or added to Satisfaction Points.
- Antique Curio Display (Build Mode > Decorations) – Used to display Key Collectibles unlocked during Event.
- Heirloom Easel of the Darong Family (Build Mode > Activities & Skills > Creative)
- The Darong Family Key (Build Mode > Decorations) – Appears in Sim’s Inventory upon claiming. Can be displayed on the Antique Curio Display.
- 100 Satisfaction Points
- Draped Memorial Display Table (Build Mode > Surfaces) – Only available if you have The Sims 4 Life & Death Expansion Pack.
- Luxurious Morning Robes (Create-A-Sim > Outfits)
Additionally, depending on the choice you made at the end of The Arrival quest, you can get one of the following:
- Simoleons (Answer: It lacks the emotion that was intended… But not bad!)
- Satisfaction Points (Answer: The expression of the soul is always touching…)
- Inspired Potion (Answer: Some feelings cannot be expressed in words…)
3. How to Complete The Arrival Quest
The first quest for The Sims 4 Lost Legacies Event begins after loading your game, entering Live Mode, and waiting with the clock unpaused. This quest is straightforward and quick to complete, but requires you to have access to a television and an easel to complete the tasks.
3.1. Where to Watch the News on TV
You first need to find a TV so you can watch the News channel.
- Find a TV
- Select the TV and choose Watch Channel > Watch News. You may need to select More Choices to see the News option.
- Wait for your Sim to watch the News channel for a while. The task will be checked off the list when they’ve watched it long enough.
3.2. Where to Meet the Royal Envoy
Watching the news has revealed that a Royal Envoy is in town! You need to introduce yourself for this task – but who is the Royal Envoy and where are they?
After starting The Arrival quest, the Royal Envoy should be in your home neighborhood. They’re distinguished-looking in their regal clothing. They’ll also have the title Royal Envoy next to their name. They should come straight to your front door. However, if you cannot find them, there are some ways to locate them:
- If they’re currently in the neighborhood, you can select the Meet the Royal Envoy task in the Quest list and the camera will focus on them.
- If they’re not present in the neighborhood, you can summon them by selecting your active Sim and choosing Call the Envoy to the Current Lot.
Once you locate the Royal Envoy, select them and use any Introduction social.
3.3. Ask Envoy About the Darong Family
After greeting the Royal Envoy, you should do this next task straight away while they’re still around. Select the Royal Envoy and choose Ask About the Darong Family.
3.4. How to Make a Painting
After speaking to the Royal Envoy, your Sim is inspired to paint on an easel. If you don’t currently own an easel, a free one is added to your Inventory so you can drag it onto your home lot. Also, by this point, you should be able to claim and purchase the new royal easel.
Once you find an easel, select it and paint any type or size of painting you like. Once the painting has been completed, the task will be done.
For this task, it doesn’t matter if your Painting Skills are lackluster, or even non-existent. You just need to paint any painting; any size, any quality, to complete this task. Note that the bigger the painting, the more time it takes to finish, so if you’re in a hurry, consider doing a Small one.
After finishing the painting, do not get rid of it! Keep it for the next and final task.
3.5. How to Express Feelings About Art
This is the final task for The Arrival quest. You just need to select any painting and choose the option Express Feelings. You can choose a painting from the Build Mode catalog, or a painting done by yourself or another Sim. For quickness, use the painting you just did for the last task.
Upon examining the painting, you are presented with three options. You can choose any that you like. Note though that each choice offers a different reward. For more information, see the All Rewards section of this guide.
After making your choice, you complete this task and the whole The Arrival quest.
- The interaction Express Feelings unlocks three choices.
- Choose any answer you like, depending on what reward you’d like to get.
4. How to Complete Darong Beginnings Quest
Shortly after completing The Arrival quest, you begin the second quest of The Sims 4 Lost Legacies Event: Darong Beginnings, where you must complete a new set of tasks. These take you on a trip to the library, but these are quick and simple to do, requiring the use of a computer and bookshelf, plus socializing with the Royal Envoy again and another Sim.
4.1. Where the Willow Creek Archive Library Is Located
First, you must travel to the library in Willow Creek, one of the base game worlds in The Sims 4. To get there, take the following steps:
- Open your Sim’s phone and select Travel > Travel.
- From the world map, select Willow Creek.
- In Willow Creek, select Willow Creek Archive. Look to the row of buildings near the bottom. The library is on the far right.
- Select Confirm and you will warp to the library.
4.2. Ask the Envoy About the Library
Once at the library, look out for the Royal Envoy. If they’re not already there, they should arrive shortly after you. Remember that you can select the task to focus on the Royal Envoy, or if they still aren’t there, select your Sim and use the Call the Envoy to the Current Lot interaction to summon them.
When you locate the Royal Envoy, select them and choose Ask About Library.
4.3. How to Hack a Computer at the Library
As part of your research, you need to find a computer and hack into it for information. Fortunately, this requires absolutely no Programming Skill experience. Simply select any of the computers located at the library and choose Hack for Darong Family Information. The task is marked off once your Sim is finished.
4.4. Ask Someone About the Darong Family
Next, ask another Sim about the Darong family. There should be plenty of Sims visiting the library. You may need to introduce yourself first if you’ve never met, then you can access the interaction Ask About the Darong Family.
4.5. How to Search a Bookshelf
Your investigation into the Darong family continues as now you must scour the bookshelves. There are plenty around the library. Select any and then choose Investigate Bookshelf.
4.6. Travel Home
To end the Darong Beginnings quest and the first week of The Sims 4 Lost Legacies Event, simply send your Sim back home. You can either:
- Click the Go Home icon on your Sim’s portrait.
- Select your Sim and choose the Go Home self interaction.
- Use Travel on your Sim’s phone and then select their home lot.
5. Lost Legacies Event Week 2 Information
That concludes the first week and the first two quests for The Sims 4 Lost Legacies Event. The new two quests, Drama Life and Sounds of Emotion, will become available from Tuesday February 10 at 9am PST, which will bring more tasks and more rewards to unlock.
6. February 3 Base Game Update Information
Aside from the Lost Legacies Event, The Sims 4 also received its base game update. As well as the bug fixes, which was covered in the recent Laundry List, some new gameplay updates and content was added for free to the game, in preparation for The Sims 4 Royalty & Legacy Expansion Pack. These include:
- Updated family tree system – new relationship labels for in-laws, half-siblings, great-grandparents, and more, plus showing extended and adopted family members.
- Flared staircases – staircases can now be widened at the top or bottom, have railings attached to just one side, and a slider for railing length.
- Africana style filter – available in Create-A-Sim and Build Mode, this filter makes it easier to locate Africana style items.
- Jewel-toned nails – 12 new jewel-toned and metallic almond-shaped nails have been added to Create-A-Sim.
7. Upcoming The Sims 4 Kits
The Sims 4 Royalty & Legacy Grand Bundle is including two exclusive limited-time Kits: Tea Time Solarium and Silver Screen Style. However, these aren’t the only new Kits coming to The Sims 4. Available from February 26, you can get your hands on The Sims 4 Wonderland Playroom Kit, an Alice in Wonderland inspired Kit aimed at children, and The Sims 4 Yard Charm Kit, which is a Creator Kit by Ravesheen.
