The Seeker of Secrets aspiration in The Sims 4: For Rent Expansion challenges your Sim to uncover, collect, and exploit other Sims’ secrets. This Deviance Aspiration ties heavily into the new Nosy trait, and it offers unique interactions like Pry for Secrets, Snoop, and Blackmail. It spans three milestone tiers with nine total tasks and rewards a powerful trait upon completion. This guide covers every step and explains exactly how to break into homes, eavesdrop, and earn the Tiger Inspector Badge.
Nosy Sims get special interactions such as Spy on Sim and Pry for Secrets, making completing the Seeker of Secrets aspiration much easier.
1. Milestone 1: Nosy Novice
This milestone introduces your Sim to secrets and the new mechanics added in For Rent. Each task uses either Nosy trait interactions or the breaking and entering system.
How to Discover Secrets Using Nosy Traits
To complete this task, your Sim must discover 3 secrets. There are multiple ways to do this:
- Gossip with other Sims (base game)
- Use Pry for Secrets (Nosy trait only)
- Use Spy on Sim (Nosy trait only)
- Eavesdrop on Sims in conversation
- Snoop objects while breaking into a home
Tip: Actions from the second and third tasks (Snoop and Eavesdrop) also count toward this task’s progress.
You’ll get notified when your Sim discovers a new secret. Make a note of the Sim whose secret it is!
How to Snoop in The Sims 4 and Break Into Homes
To complete this task, your Sim must successfully use the Snoop interaction 10 times on valid objects inside other Sims’ homes. This requires initiating a Break In.
- Find an occupied residential lot (any type)
- Select Break In from the world map or lot interaction
- During the Breaking and Entering event, use Snoop on these objects:
- Bookshelves
- Drawers
- Wardrobes
- Beds
- Mailboxes
If Snoop is successful, a secret is added to your Sim’s log. Failures do not count.

- Selecting an occupied home should bring up the Break In option.

- Breaking into a home is a timed event.

- Once at the Lot, use the Break In interaction on the door.

- Use Snoop on objects such as beds, bookcases, drawers, and mailboxes to find secrets.
How to Eavesdrop on Sims and Doors
Your Sim must eavesdrop 5 times. There are two ways to do this:
- Eavesdrop on conversations: Found under Friendly > Gossip when near 2+ chatting Sims
- Eavesdrop at Door: Only available when a Sim is at home inside a unit
Community lots with lots of Sims or apartment complexes make this easier.

2. Milestone 2: Superior Pryer
This milestone introduces new confrontation mechanics and gives your Sim the option to keep or exploit discovered secrets. Nosy trait Sims will complete this faster.
How to Confront Sims With Their Secrets
After your Sim learns a secret about another Sim, use Confront About Secret (under Friendly > Gossip). Do this 3 times total to complete the task.
After discovering a secret, use Confront a Secret on a Sim whose secret you have learned about.
How to Use the Keep Secret Interaction
Following a confrontation, use Keep a Secret on the same Sim (also under Friendly > Gossip). This only needs to be done once.
The Keep Secret option appears after confronting a Sim about their secret.
Repeat Eavesdropping to Find More Secrets
Your Sim must discover 2 more secrets specifically via eavesdropping. Both conversation and door methods count. Ensure a new secret is actually revealed each time.
3. Milestone 3: Snooper Extraordinaire
The final milestone wraps up with one last break-in, a unique collectible, and a high-risk blackmail interaction.
How to Break Into a Sim’s Home
Repeat the Break In process from earlier. You only need to do it once more to complete this task.
Where to Get the Tiger Inspector Badge in Tomarang
- Travel to Sulea Tiger Sanctuary in Koh Sahpa (across the river from Screaming Gecko lounge)
- Wait until nighttime in-game
- Select Sneak Into Sanctuary interaction on the building
- Your Sim will attempt to steal the Tiger Inspector Badge
If successful, it appears in your Sim’s inventory and enables smoother break-ins.
The Tiger Inspector Badge appears in your Sim’s inventory after getting one from the Tiger Sanctuary.
How to Blackmail a Sim After Learning Their Secret
- Discover a Sim’s secret
- Use Confront About Secret
- Select Blackmail (under Mean > Malicious)
The target Sim will lose relationship points and give your Sim Simoleons. This only needs to be done once.

- Sims with confronted secrets can be blackmailed.

- Your Sim gains money from blackmailing another Sim, but it takes a hit on their relationship.
4. Seeker of Secrets Aspiration Rewards
Upon completing all three milestones, your Sim receives the Pry of the Tiger reward trait.
- Improved junk mail snooping: Higher success rate when interacting with mailboxes
- Break In failsafe: If caught breaking in, your Sim avoids punishment due to badge cover story
This synergizes with the Nosy trait and benefits Sims pursuing other Deviance activities.
