- Live in Innisgreen. Not required, but ideal for foraging Apothecary ingredients.
As soon as you embark on the Elixir Enthusiast Aspiration, join the Naturopath Career (if you haven’t yet).
2. Elixir Beginner Milestone Walkthrough
In this first milestone, you’ll forage ingredients, craft items, share elixirs, and earn your first promotion in the Naturopath Career.
How to Forage For Apothecary Ingredients
To unlock the “Forage for Apothecary Ingredients” interaction, your Sim must reach Apothecary Skill Level 2. Increase the skill by:
- Crafting items at the Apothecary Table
- Studying Apothecary Cures
- Researching Cures & Elixirs on a computer
- Reading Apothecary Skill Book Vol. 1
Once unlocked, click on any grass, dirt, or sand-covered ground and select Forage for… > Forage for Apothecary Ingredients. Complete this action three times.
Forage for Apothecary Ingredients is only available to Level 2 or higher Apothecary Skill Sims.

Use your Apothecary Table to craft any two items. Ingredient sources include:

- Choose Give Elixir
- Select the item from your inventory

Once enrolled in the Naturopath Career, do the following to earn your first promotion:
- Choose “Go to Work” and set to Work Hard or Normal
- Complete your daily task: Study Holistic Cures on a computer
- For Work From Home, complete your assignment before the next shift
- Keep your Sim in a positive mood
Visiting clients aren’t available until Level 2 Naturopath, so either go into work or work from home at this stage.

This milestone focuses on detecting and bottling emotions using the Emotion Stone, selling crafted items, and progressing in the Naturopath Career.
How to Detect Emotions with the Emotion Stone
To detect emotions, your Sim must first craft an Emotion Stone, which becomes available at Apothecary Skill Level 6. Make sure your Sim is leveling up their Apothecary Skill consistently through crafting and research.
To craft an Emotion Stone at the Apothecary Table, you’ll need the following ingredients:
- 1 Lump of Moss
- 1 Lightning Root Leaf
- 2 Sage
Use Detect Emotions with an Emotion Stone to find out the emotions of nearby Sims.
Where to Find Emotion Stone Ingredients
- Lump of Moss – Foraged or purchased from the Apothecary Table or Stall in Sprucederry Grove
- Sage – Foraged, grown, or bought at the Apothecary Table or stall
- Lightning Root Leaf – Harvested in Everdew, bought at the Apothecary Table or Stall, or grown at home using seeds from the Garden Shop in Sprucederry Grove
Once crafted, the Emotion Stone can be used by selecting it in your Sim’s inventory and choosing Detect Emotions. Note that Emotion Stones eventually break from use and your Sim can only carry one at a time.
Purchase ingredients at the table if you’re short of anything.
How to Bottle Emotions with the Emotion Stone
Have your Sim enter different emotions and use the stone to bottle them:
- Select the Emotion Stone and choose Bottle Emotion
You cannot bottle the following emotions:

- Asleep
- Dazed

How to Craft the Holistic Cure Elixir
At Apothecary Level 10, craft the Holistic Cure Elixir using:
- 2 Angry Emotion Potions
- 2 Sad Emotion Potions
- 4 Lump of Moss
To get the potions:
- Bottle your Sim’s emotions using the Emotion Stone
- Ask Mother Nature at Moondrop Springs to change the Springs’ emotion
- Use the Sway Another’s Emotion Fairy ability on others
- Convert any Emotion Potion into another type at Apothecary Level 10
Holistic Cure is unlocked at the highest level of the Apothecary Skill.

To ask Mother Nature to change the emotion of Moondrop Springs, you must first summon and befriend her. Here’s how:
- Obtain a Fairy Seedling. This can be earned by completing a Fable or by selecting to become a Fairy (or non-occult for Fairies).
- Plant the Fairy Seedling anywhere on the ground to summon Mother Nature.
- Build a relationship with her through social interactions until you are friends.
- After befriending her, visit Moondrop Springs and ask her to change the Springs’ emotion to Angry or Sad.
This is one of the most reliable ways to trigger specific moods for bottling rare Emotion Potions.
