The Sims 4 Enchanted by Nature - Apothecary Skill Guide

The Apothecary Skill is a new skill in The Sims 4 Enchanted by Nature that lets Sims craft Cures, Elixirs, Emotion Potions, and more. It’s essential for the Naturopath Career and tied closely to a dedicated Aspiration. This guide covers how to build the skill, where to find the Apothecary Table, how to unlock recipes, and where to get every ingredient.

1. How to Build the Apothecary Skill

You can level the Apothecary Skill in several different ways. Some are faster than others, and a few methods depend on access to special locations or items.

  • Crafting at the Apothecary Table: The fastest way to gain skill. Unlocks more recipes with each level.
  • Study Apothecary Cures: Available for all skill levels directly from the Apothecary Table.
  • Research Cures & Elixirs on a Computer: Go to Web > Research to access this option.
  • Consume Cures and Elixirs: Drinking any crafted or purchased potion gives a small skill boost.
  • Read Apothecary Skill Books: Can be bought or found in bookshelves like most other skills.
  • Get Mentoring: Ask a Sim with Level 5 or higher in Apothecary to mentor you at the Table.

2. Where to Find an Apothecary Table

There are multiple ways to find and use an Apothecary Table in The Sims 4 Enchanted by Nature. You can use free tables around Innisgreen, buy your own, or even find one through Foraging.

  • Coast of Adhmor: First floor of the GNOM Exhibit Museum.
  • Everdew: Near the Mossveil Fairy Hub and Starseed Teleporter.
  • Sprucederry Grove: Beside the Apothecary Stall.

How to Buy an Apothecary Table in Build Mode

You can buy the Leafy Ledge Apothecary Table for 100 Simoleons in Build Mode under Activities & Skills > Hobbies & Skills.

The Apothecary Skill has 10 levels. Each level unlocks new recipes, interactions, or Build/Buy items.

Level 1

  • Can Study Apothecary Cures at the Table.
  • Can craft Balanced Mind Cure, Simoleon Fever Cure, and Creation Impulse Cure.

Level 2

  • Can Forage for Apothecary Ingredients.
  • Unlocks Apothecary Study Set in Build Mode under Decorations.
  • Unlocks Sonic Sinuses Cure, Greenie Meanie Cure, Luck Magnet Cure, Emotional Void Cure, and Gnome Lure Cure.

Reaching Level 2 gets you some new Apothecary clutter items.

Level 3

  • Can Enthuse About Crafting Elixirs with other Sims.
  • Can craft some Emotion Potions.
  • Unlocks Enhanced Eyes and Calming Draught.

Level 4

  • Unlocks Noxious Gas and Hooked on Nature.

Level 5

  • Less likely to become Uncomfortable from unpleasant smells while crafting.
  • Unlocks Apothecarist’s Tabletop Organizer in Build Mode.
  • Unlocks A Wee Drink and Momentary Happiness.

  • Can Brag About Apothecary Expertise.
  • Unlocks Emotion Stone and Balanced Mind Elixir.

Level 8

  • Unlocks Need Stop Elixir.

Level 9

  • Sim no longer receives Uncomfortable Moodlets from bad crafting odors.
  • Unlocks Fearless and Supernatural Shield Elixirs.

Level 10

  • Can purchase Advanced Apothecary Ingredients.
  • Can convert Emotion Potions.
  • Craft Emotion Potions at an even lower cost.

4. All Apothecary Recipes

The 25 Apothecary recipes are divided into Ailment Cures, ElixirsEmotion Potions, and Other Items. These recipes unlock progressively as you level the Apothecary Skill. Each item requires ingredients that can be foraged, purchased, or grown.

Ailment Cures

Burning Passion Cure (Level 1)

  • Ingredients: 2 Aura Petals, 2 Sage
  • Effect: Cures Burning Passion Ailment

Simoleon Fever Cure (Level 1)

  • Ingredients: 1 Daisy, 2 Lemons
  • Effect: Cures Simoleon Fever Ailment

Creation Impulse Cure (Level 1)

  • Ingredients: 3 Daisies, 1 Aura Petal
  • Effect: Cures Creation Impulse Ailment

Luck Magnet Cure (Level 2)

  • Ingredients: 2 Lemons, 1 Aura Petal
  • Effect: Cures Luck Magnet Ailment

Elixirs

Enhanced Eyes (Level 3)

  • Ingredients: 1 Basil, 2 Lemons, 1 Acorn
  • Effect: Boosts Foraging and repair success.

Calming Draught (Level 3)

  • Ingredients: 2 Aura Petals, 2 Lumps of Moss, 1 Basil
  • Effect: Removes Angry or Sad Moodlets, but not Grief.

Noxious Gas (Level 4)

  • Ingredients: 1 Acorn, 1 Lightning Root Leaf
  • Effect: Severely depletes Sim’s Hygiene Need and makes them Embarrassed.

Hooked on Nature (Level 4)

  • Ingredients: 1 Acorn, 3 Lumps of Moss
  • Effect: Temporarily boosts Fishing outcomes, and removes negative Moodlets from Enchanting plants or Cowplant tending.

Acorns are a common Apothecary ingredient, but tricky to get hold of early on.

Momentary Happiness (Level 5)

  • Ingredients: 2 Acorns, 1 Lightning Root Leaf
  • Effect: Grants temporary Happy Moodlet and restores Needs.

A Wee Drink (Level 5)

  • Ingredients: 1 Lump of Moss, 2 Aura Petals, 1 Basil
  • Effect: Causes Bladder Failure.

Balanced Mind (Level 6)

  • Ingredients: 2 Small Critter Bones, 3 Positive Emotion Potions, 1 Negative Emotion Potion
  • Effect: Temporarily boosts Sim’s Luck.

Lucky Liquid (Level 7)

  • Ingredients: 4 Small Critter Bones, 1 Scared Emotion Potion, 3 Lemons
  • Effect: Temporarily boosts Sim’s Luck.

Need Stop (Level 8)

  • Ingredients: 1 Lightning Root Leaf, 3 Positive Emotion Potions, 3 Negative Emotion Potions
  • Effect: Temporarily prevents Sim’s Needs decaying naturally. Using Occult Abilities will still drain Needs. Elixir can only be consumed once every 24 hours.

Supernatural Shield (Level 9)

  • Ingredients: 3 Happy Emotion Potions, 3 Negative Emotion Potions
  • Effect: Grants protection against negative Powers and Abilities of Vampires, Werewolves, Spellcasters, and Fairies. Once shield has been used, Sims need to drink another to regain protection.

Fearless (Level 9)

  • Ingredients: 2 Acorns, 2 Confident Emotion Potions, 3 Small Critter Bones
  • Effect: Removes any Fears Sim currently has.

Celestial Protection (Level 10)

  • Ingredients: 2 Small Critter Bones, 2 Lightning Root Leaves, Any Emotion Potion
  • Effect: Prevents Sim receiving Ailment. Once Ailment has been prevented, Sim needs to consume Elixir again to regain protection.

Holistic Cure (Level 10)

  • Ingredients: 2 Angry Emotion Potions, 2 Sad Emotion Potions, 4 Lumps of Moss
  • Effect: Removes most negative Moodlets, any Ailment, and fully restores Sim’s Needs and Balance. Can only be consumed every 24 hours.
Give Elixir.

Sims can give Elixirs to others or keep it for themselves.

Emotion Potions

  • Each Emotion Potion can only be crafted once your Sim has unlocked that specific emotion.
  • Emotion Potions used in other Apothecary recipes.
  • Positive Emotion Potions include: Confident, Energized, Flirty, Focused, Happy, Inspired, and Playful.
  • Negative Emotion Potions include: Angry, Bored, Embarrassed, Sad, Scared, and Tense.
  • Crafting cost and availability improve at higher Apothecary levels.

Other Items

Emotion Stone (Level 6)

  • Ingredients: 1 Lump of Moss, 1 Lightning Root Leaf, 2 Sage
  • Effect: Detects and bottles emotions. Can be eaten by Fairies to gain Emotional Force. May break after repeated use. Only one can be carried in inventory at a time.

Cowplant Horn (Level 7)

  • Ingredients: 1 Aura Petal, 1 Cowplant Berry
  • Effect: Gives Sims a sense of dread when Luck worsens. Multiple can be carried in inventory.

Freezer Bunny Foot (Level 7)

  • Ingredients: 1 Lightning Root Leaf, 2 Tulips
  • Effect: Increases Sim’s Luck while carried. Multiple copies stack for stronger effect.
