This organization mostly focuses on the Painting Skill, but also includes other artistic activities such as playing musical instruments and taking photos. Joining and ranking up the Art Society is beneficial for university students, including those enrolled in the Art History and Fine Arts degrees, and it offers useful rewards. This guide will explore everything you need to know about the Art Society organization in The Sims 4 Discover University.

2. What You Need to Know Before You Join the Art Society
While the Art Society does come with several perks, there are a few things you need to be aware of before you think about joining.

3. How to Join the Art Society
If you would like to sign up for the Art Society, you must approach a member and ask them if you can join. To find a member, the best place is one of their events. Anyone is free to attend an Art Society event, even if they are not a member. To locate an event, you can do the following:
- Open up the Groups panel.
- Select the Organizations button.
- Select the Organization Events button.
- From the list of events, look under Art Society under University of Britechester. You’ll see when the next event is taking place.
- Wait for the next Art Society event to start, then select Go to Event to travel there.
- At the Art Society event, select a member (labeled as “Art Society Member” and wearing green Art Society t-shirts) and choose Ask to Join Art Society.
- The member should accept your invitation request, automatically making you a new member.
Once you join the Art Society, you’ll begin at the bottom as a New Member.
- Select Organizations to bring up all the clubs from both universities.
- All upcoming Organization events will be listed, including the Art Society.
- The Figure Painting classes take place just outside the UBrite Commons.
- To join, simply approach any member and select Ask to Join Art Society.
4. How to Attend Art Society Events
The Art Society has two events exclusive to the Organization: Figure Painting and Bar Nights. Each event allows you to meet other Art Society members for socialization and Painting activities.
To attend any Art Society event, you can do the following:
- Open the Groups > Organizations panel.
- Select Art Society from the dropdown list.
- Scroll down the list of events to see what’s currently taking place or when the next event is.
- During an active event, select Go to Event on that event in the list to be transported to the event’s location.
Figure Painting
- Days: Mondays, Thursdays, Sundays
- Time: 3pm – 7pm
- Location: By the canal at UBrite Commons
During this event, four easels are set up by the canal outside UBrite Commons at the University of Britechester. Art Society members are free to paint whatever they like, as well as socialize. Even though the event officially ends at 7pm, the easels can stay around until 8pm, giving you some extra time to finish painting if you need it.
There’s also a random Sim posing as a model for the Art Society members. You can paint them if you have access to the Paint by Reference interaction, and you can talk to them.
For a few hours, you can paint freely or chat with your fellow members during Figure Painting classes.
Bar Nights
- Days: Tuesdays
- Time: 8pm – 12pm
- Locations: Britechester Bar
Bar Nights serve as a means for Art Society members to meet up away from their easels to catch up and socialize while enjoying a drink, watching some TV, and playing on the pong table upstairs.
Bar Nights occur less than Figure Painting and give you the chance to catch up while enjoying some drinks.
5. How to Rank Up in the Art Society
If you want to rank up in the Art Society and reap all the rewards and benefits, you need to complete any tasks provided. Every Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday morning at 9am, the three tasks are refreshed. The tasks given are random. A task will not disappear from the list and be replaced with a new task when completed. If you complete all three tasks, you need to wait until the next time the tasks are refreshed to gain new ones.
Every time you complete a task, you gain experience points for the Art Society. By earning enough points, you rank up a level and gain new rewards.
How to Complete All Art Society Tasks
Below is a list of every task you can expect to get as an Art Society member and how to complete them:
- Paint Specific Style of Painting. Available painting styles depends on your current Painting Skill. Styles include: abstract, classic, pop art, surrealism, impressionism, and realism. Size of painting doesn’t matter.
- Take 5 Photos. Photos can be taken using phone camera via Camera > Take Photo. Use up the 5 photo snaps in one interaction. Quality of photos doesn’t matter.
- Play Any Musical Instrument for 2 Hours. Instruments include guitar, piano, violin, and pipe organ (The Sims 4 Vampires Game Pack). Don’t need to play them 2 hours straight to count.
- View 3 Paintings in a Museum. Visit any Lot labeled as a Museum and use View Art or Admire Art interaction on three painting objects. Don’t need to wait for full interaction to be completed.
- You might be asked to play an instrument for a few hours.
- You may also need to view artwork at a museum for a task.
- Painting is a great way to earn experience points and level up.
- Even if you complete all the tasks early, you still have to wait for new tasks to appear.
6. Rewards for Joining and Ranking Up in the Art Society
The Art Society in The Sims 4 Discover University has three rankings: New Member, Seasoned Member, and Senior Member. At each ranking, there are different rewards to be unlocked. These include the following by ranking:

7. Best Tips for the Art Society
To finish off this guide for the Art Society, here are some final tips for ranking up:
- If you sign up for the Art Society at the beginning of the first term of university and are there for the shortest possible time (3 terms), you’ll have enough time to reach the top ranking if you complete all the tasks and attend all Art Society events, as well as doing extra tasks such as painting.
- Use the time at the Figure Painting events to do unfinished tasks such as completing paintings in specific styles.
- Signing up for the Art Society is also ideal if you have the Painter Extraordinaire Aspiration active, as completing those tasks can help you rank up.
- For Art History and Fine Arts students, the Art Society can help boost your Painting Skill gain and even master it.
- At the Figure Painting event, you can grab some food by cooking at the nearby grill, or at the food stand inside the UBrite Commons (if someone is serving). There’s also a toilet if you need it.
- Sell off any paintings done for the Art Society to fund your university tuition or to buy/rent a place when you graduate.
- Only enrolled University of Britechester students can take part in the Art Society.
- Fun is gained whenever you engage in Painting with Likes Painting assigned.
- Being Inspired builds the Painting Skill faster, unlocking more art styles.
- The UBrite Commons has good food available if you get hungry – providing it’s open for business.
