The Beach Life Aspiration not only has you embracing life at Sulani, but also teaches your Sims how to relax more.

2. How to Prepare for the Beach Life Aspiration

Before starting, set up your Sim for a smoother playthrough by picking the right traits and home location.

  • Live in Sulani — Not required, but reduces travel and helps with several aspiration tasks.
  • Recommended Trait: Loves the Outdoors — You’ll spend most of your time outside in Sulani.
  • Buy a Kava Bowl — Needed for a Kava Party later on.
  • Build Relationships — You’ll need guests for your Kava Party.

3. Milestone 1: Tourist

Your Sim is new to Sulani and needs to complete basic tasks like sunbathing and socializing. One of the most challenging goals happens here: earning Gold in a Kava Party.

How to Get a Suntan in Sulani

  1. Place a Beach Towel, Lounge Chair, or Float Lounger on the beach.
  2. Click it and select Sunbathe.
  3. Choose swimwear, everyday clothes, or nude.
  4. Click your Sim and select Apply Sunburn Protection to avoid sunburn.
  5. Wait for the Sun Kissed moodlet to appear. Once it does, cancel the action. Your Sim now has a tan.

How to Earn Gold at a Kava Party

  1. Buy a Kava Bowl from Kitchen Appliances and place it on a counter.
  2. Plan a Social Event on your Sim’s phone and select Kava Party (Goals & Rewards enabled).
  3. Invite at least 3 guests. The more the better.
  4. Buy a Stereo to complete the dancing task.
  5. Start the party and click the Kava Bowl to Prepare Kava (costs §18 unless you have Kava Roots).

To reach Gold, complete tasks such as:

  • Call to Grab Drink (invite guests to drink kava).
  • Kava Toast from the Friendly menu.
  • Make a Group Meal and Tell Jokes.
  • Have 3 Sims Dance at the same time.
  • Buy a Kava Bowl. A Kava Party is named after the local Sulani consumable your Sims can drink out of a special bowl. You can purchase a Kava Bowl for §100 in the Buy Catalog under Kitchen Appliances. To use it, you must place it in the center of a countertop.
  • Befriend at least 3 Sims. If you’re doing this Aspiration in a brand-new household with no established relationships with anyone outside the household, go out and introduce yourself to at least 3 different Sims. Head to a community lot like the beach or bar where lots of Sims mingle.
  • Buy a stereo. With parties, one task is to get other Sims dancing to music, and for that you need a stereo.

How to Eat a Coconut

  1. Find Coconut Trees around Sulani. Wait for them to grow fruit.
  2. If unavailable, buy coconuts at the Beach Supplies Stall in Ohan’ali Town or order groceries.
  3. Click the coconut in your inventory and select Eat Coconut.

4. Milestone 2: Sand-Sifter

This stage is about living like a local — exploring the beach and cooking traditional Sulani food.

How to Find Items by Beachcombing

  1. Click on sand and choose Beachcomb > For Seashells.
  2. You need to collect 10 items. Move to new areas if unsuccessful.
  3. Watch out for crabs and seagulls, which can give negative moodlets.
Beachcombing options.

With beachcombing, you can comb for trash or seashells.

How to Grill, Barbeque, or Roast Food

  1. Use any Grill on Sulani beaches or lots.
  2. Cook 5 different meals to complete the task.
  3. You can also Roast Food at underground pits found in Ohan’ali Town.
  4. Roasting takes 2 in-game hours. You can Hang Out by the pit while waiting.

5. Milestone 3: Leisurely Local

At this stage, your Sim gets deeper into Sulani culture, exploring natural landmarks and looking for treasure.

How to Explore the Sulani Beach Cave

  1. Travel to Mua Pel’am and find the Beach Cave near the wrecked ship lot.
  2. Select Explore. Your Sim will disappear into the cave and return automatically after a while.
Cave options.

The cave can be found in Mua Pel’am. Just look near the wrecked ship Residential Lot.

How to Discover Buried Treasure

You can find treasure two ways:

  • Beachcomb — Cheapest, but random chance.
  • Free Dive at deep water buoys — Requires Fitness Level 3.
  1. Raise Fitness by swimming or working out.
  2. Purchase a Treasure Tool under Diving Gear (costs §1,000) to unlock the option Dive for Treasure.
Buoy options.

You can dive at buoys out at sea, but you first need Level 3 Fitness.

6. Milestone 4: Beach Fixture

The final milestone is about achieving full island relaxation.

How to Doze Off While Relaxing

  1. Let your Sim’s Energy Need drop into orange.
  2. Go to a Sulani beach and select a Lounge Chair or Float Lounger.
  3. Click Relax. Wait for the action to finish.
  4. If your Sim is tired enough, they will doze off and complete the task.

7. Reward Trait: Laid-Back

Once you finish all milestones, your Sim earns the Laid-Back Trait.

  • Prevents your Sim from ever becoming Tense.
  • Helps with career tasks, bad moods, or social failures.
  • Ideal for passive Sim lifestyles or beach-focused storytelling.
Laid-Back Trait.

Completing the Beach Life Aspiration teaches your Sim to be more relaxed and not get so Tense.

Finishing this aspiration also means your Sim has experienced everything Sulani has to offer — from Kava Parties and treasure diving to sunbathing and grilling food by the beach.
