Buy a Gibbi Point Butterfly & Moth Habitat in Build Mode under Activities & Skills > Outdoor Activities for 600 Simoleons (2×2). Place it and exit Build Mode to complete the goal.

How to Catch 5 Butterflies

You can catch both butterflies and moths in Gibbi Point to satisfy this step. For the next goal, it’s efficient to focus on Common species. Keep catches in your Inventory so you can examine them.

Use these confirmed Common locations to progress quickly:

  • Banded King Shoemaker ButterflyWanderwood Wilds, north of the bridge leading to the waterfall.

How to Examine 3 Common Butterflies

Examination is done from the ground, not directly from the inventory:

  1. Select a Common butterfly or moth in your Inventory and choose Place in World.
  2. After it’s placed, select it and choose Examine.
  3. Repeat for a total of 3 different Common specimens.

Butterflies and moths can’t be examined from the Inventory. You need to set them down in the world first.

How to Craft 3 Paper Butterflies

At a Papercrafting Kit, select Craft Origami > Butterfly. Papercrafting Level 1 is sufficient; Levels 2–3 add more color options. If a papercraft fails, it does not count—try again.

How to Catch 4 Fish While Bowfishing

Bowfishing is unlocked at Archery Level 4. At any fishing spot, select Go Bowfishing and continue until you’ve caught 4 fish with the bow.

How to Level Archery to 4 Quickly

  • Purchase an Archery Target in Build Mode or use one at Camp Gibbi Gibbi.
  • Use Practice Archery or hold a competition with another Sim.
  • Enter a Focused mood before practice to build skill faster.
  • Ask another Sim to Mentor you for additional skill gain.
  • Use archery-based interactions on other Sims when not practicing.

How to Go Fishing With a Buddy (Household Member)

This goal only registers when fishing with a household member:

  1. Send another Sim in your household to Go Fishing, then click them and choose Join Fishing; or
  2. Select a fishing spot > Go Fishing With… > choose your household Sim.

How to Give a Pet Fish a Name

  1. Buy a small Fish Bowl in Build Mode > Activities & Skills > Recreation.
  2. Select the bowl and choose Add Fish (from Inventory) or Buy Fish.
  3. With a fish in the bowl, select Name, enter a name, then Confirm.

Optional Cheat Tip (If Stuck)

If this milestone won’t complete after every other goal is done, open the cheats console and enter: aspiration.complete_current_milestone.

5. How to Complete Aspiring Lepidopterist (Milestone 3)

This milestone returns to butterflies and moths: you’ll capture and examine a Rare specimen, rehome one at a topiary, view a specimen in the habitat, and begin raising a caterpillar.

Rare species can be tied to specific actions or quests. You only need one Rare specimen for this goal.

Where to Find Rare Butterflies & Moths in Gibbi Point

  • Cryptid MothCrystal Valley near the Plumbird’s Nest at night. Complete all four Peculiar Plumbird Lore quests first.
  • Jelly Butterfly – Catch a jellyfish at the Electric Lagoon in Crystal Valley, then place it in the world to lure the butterfly.
  • Red Admiral Butterfly – Complete the Melody of the Geyser quest from Storyteller Toshie; it appears near the Strange Boulder in Wanderwood Wilds.

There are only 3 Rare butterflies/moths, but two require completing quests to access them.

What’s the Easiest Rare to Catch?

The Jelly Butterfly is straightforward: catch a jellyfish and place it to spawn the butterfly.

  1. With the Rare specimen in your Inventory, choose Place in World.

How to Start Raising a Caterpillar

  1. Buy a Flutterarium Caterpillar Incubator from Build Mode > Activities & Skills, the Butterfly & Moth Habitat, or the Ranger’s Station in Wanderwood Wilds.
  2. Place it on a tabletop at home and choose Start Raising a Caterpillar.
  3. Select any butterfly/moth type. Higher Entomology Skill adds more options.
