The Reaper’s Rewards Event is now at its halfway point in The Sims 4, as Week 3 has rolled around. This week does have less tasks despite there being two quests, but it does include some vital information on making Ambrosia, so it’s important not to gloss over this week. That’s why you should pay attention to this guide, as this will contribute to the success of the last three week’s worth of quests and tasks in the Reaper’s Rewards Event. In this week, you’ll be doing a little of everything; Cooking (and even Gourmet Cooking), Fishing, and Gardening. Plus, the next addition of the Ambrosia Society Newsletter contains some useful information to retain.
If you’re starting The Reaper’s Rewards Event late in The Sims 4, don’t panic as you’ll have plenty of time to catch up on the tasks of Week 1 and 2. If you want to see the walkthrough for the first two weeks, make sure to read our guides. Remember that you’ve got until November 19th to complete the Reaper’s Rewards Event.
The First Ingredient Quest Walkthrough
Total Quest Event Points: 400
The first of the two quests for Week 3 of the Reaper’s Rewards Event in The Sims 4 focuses on gathering your first ingredient for making Ambrosia.
Wait for the Ambrosia Society Newsletter
Event Points: +15
If you’ve already done the first two weeks of the Reaper’s Rewards Event, you should be familiar with this task by now. Give it a few in-game hours and the third edition of the Ambrosia Society Newsletter should arrive in your Sim’s mailbox. If you’d rather not wait and don’t mind spending a few extra Simoleons, you can hurry the post along by going into the Home app on your Sim’s phone and selecting Expedite Mail Delivery. It’ll cost 103 Simoleons. As soon as it’s been delivered, the task to read the newsletter will become available.
Read the Ambrosia Society Newsletter
Event Points: +25
Again, this is just like the previous two weeks. Once the newsletter arrives in the post, collect it and it will appear in your Sim’s Inventory. Just click on it, then select Read, and the information from the newsletter will appear in the pop-up notifications.
What’s the Ambrosia Society Newsletter about this week? It talks about getting, or more specifically catching, the first ingredient needed to make Ambrosia: an angelfish! The newsletter also reminds you that since Ambrosia is a gourmet meal, you should start learning the Gourmet Cooking skill. Remember that you need level 10 Gourmet Cooking in order to access the Ambrosia recipe.
The final piece of information the newsletter provides is grafting plants in order to get another ingredient: the Death Flower. It suggests that you graft an Orchid and a Pomegranate plant.
The newsletter also includes a link to the Fishing lesson, if this is unfamiliar territory for you or you just want some tips.
Fish With Bait
Event Points: +35
At this stage, you’ve probably done a little fishing, but what about fishing with bait? This improves your chances of not only catching a fish, but catching specific types of fish. There are lots of different baits you can use to lure different fish. There are other factors to consider, like the location.
For this task, it just introduces you to the concept of fishing with bait. In order to do this, your Sim’s Fishing skill must be at level 3. Then, when you select any fishing spot, the option Fish with Bait… will appear. When you select this option, you’ll be shown a list of everything in your Sim’s Inventory that you can use as bait. This includes anything organic, mainly harvestables and other fish in your Sim’s Inventory.
To complete this task, you don’t even need to catch anything. You just need to initiate the Fish with Bait action and then select any bait, and it will be marked as done.
Catch an Angelfish
Event Points: +65
Fishing with bait prompts the next task: to catch an Angelfish. This is a significant task for Week 3 of the Reaper’s Rewards Event because Angelfish is one of the ingredients needed for making Ambrosia. But how do you catch Angelfish? It may seem daunting catching a specific fish, but it’s actually quite straightforward.
The in-game tooltip suggests that you head on over to the water down at Crawdad Quarter in Willow Creek, aka the commercial district. However, I managed to get lucky, as I used a Faux Meat Cube at the fishing spot in the Arts Quarter of San Myshuno and the Angelfish was the first thing I snagged! I don’t know if this was luck or a coincidence. If you find that you’re not having the same luck that I did, I would suggest you do what the game advises and go fishing at Crawdad Quarter in Willow Creek. According to the Notebook after I caught my Angelfish, they are attracted to any fresh fruit, so use that as your bait to better your chances of catching an Angelfish.
After you catch an Angelfish, make sure to keep it somewhere safe. You’ll be needing it as the first of three ingredients for Ambrosia!
The First Ingredient Quest Conclusion
Believe it or not, that’s it for the first quest of Week 3 of the Reaper’s Rewards Event in The Sims 4. Depending on how lucky you get with your fishing, this shouldn’t take long at all. Plus, you’ll now have an Angelfish on hand, ready to be cooked up in Ambrosia, so we’re really making progress.
Learning From a Lady Quest Walkthrough
Total Quest Event Points: 350
The second quest of Week 3 of the Reaper’s Rewards Event in The Sims 4 is a little more involved than the first, but these tasks are still fairly straightforward and shouldn’t be a headache to complete, providing you’ve followed the tasks from the first two weeks.
Read the Intro in The Green Lady’s Tome
Event Points: +25
If you recall Week 2, you may have unlocked a reward called The Green Lady’s Lost Tome. You’ll be needing it this week for the first task: to read the intro. If you’re unfamiliar with this particular book, it has some unique features. When your Sim reads it, they gain multiple skills at once that are required for making Ambrosia: Cooking, Gourmet Cooking, and Gardening, so it’s worth a read if you want to max out all these skills. However, for this week, you’ll just need to read the intro.
If you haven’t yet, purchase the book from Build Mode. The book should be located under Activities & Skills. If you can’t find it, enter the name into the search bar, or use the filter (Special > Event Rewards). It costs 300 Simoleons. Once you have the book, you can put it into your Sim’s Inventory or store it away on a bookcase – or just leave it lying around, whatever suits you.
Once you have the book, simply select it and then choose Read Book Intro. It’ll have the Reaper’s Rewards Event icon next to it to make it easy to spot. Your Sim will take a while to read it, but once they do, this task will be completed.
Cook a Recipe While Level 5 or Higher
Event Points: +35
This task is familiar to Week 1 and 2. This time, your Sim will need their Cooking skill at level 5 or higher before they cook any recipe. If it’s not at this level yet, get them in the kitchen cooking. It doesn’t matter what it is they make, so long as it builds up their Cooking skill. Your Sim can also watch the Cooking channel on TV or read Volume 2 of the Cooking skill book. In order to fulfil this task, your Sim must already be a level 5 cook. It won’t work if they’re in the middle of making something and they level up to 5 Cooking skill. They must be at the right level before they start making the recipe.
Cook a Gourmet Cooking Recipe
Event Points: +45
Okay, time to step things up! This time, you’re asked to make a gourmet recipe. Gourmet Cooking is pretty much the same as normal Cooking, but the meals are much classier. Sims have to be very proficient chefs to make these special recipes, requiring them to be at level 5 Cooking before they can even think about making anything gourmet. Also, building this skill is a little trickier than Cooking because there are less Gourmet Cooking recipes, and there are less ways to build it. There are skill books, but the TV channel won’t help you. The best way to build Gourmet Cooking is by actually doing it.
For now though, you’ll just need to make any Gourmet Cooking dish. It doesn’t matter what it is or what skill level your Sim is, so long as it’s from the Gourmet Cooking menu.
Graft a Shoot to a Plant or Research Grafting
Event Points: +55
This task is actually the first of two that shows up in this quest. There are two ways to do this task: grafting a shoot to a plant, or Research Grafting.
Grafting is a key action in making Ambrosia because you need to do it to produce special harvestables, including the Death Flower. To get the Death Flower, you need to graft an Orchid and a Pomegranate. However, this is a little down the line, and you won’t be required to do this for this week’s quest. There’s a bit of a process to making the Death Flower.
In order to Graft, you first need a cutting from a plant. You did this in Week 2 of the Reaper’s Rewards Event. You started off with planting lilies and snapdragons, so I suggest taking a cutting from one of them, then using the Graft interaction on the other. For example, by grafting a snapdragon onto a lily, you get an Orchid!
If you wish to make things a little easier, or you just want to wrap up this week’s quests, simply use Research Grafting on any in-season plant. This interaction is also useful in finding out what you get from grafting different plants.
Learning From the Lady Quest Conclusion
Yes! Another Reaper’s Rewards Event quest completed! Your Sim is well on their way to making Ambrosia, thanks to their newfound Gourmet Cooking skill and being introduced to the delicate art of grafting plants. At this quest’s end, the game simply suggests you keep working on your Gourmet Cooking skill. You’ll need it maxed out for that all-important Ambrosia recipe.
Reaper’s Rewards Event Week 3 Unlockable Rewards
There aren’t as many rewards this week as the previous two weeks of the Reaper’s Rewards Event. However, these rewards are nothing to scoff at. There are some goodies this week, including some gothic new boots, another collectible freezer bunny (or boney), a free Bird of Paradise plant, and probably best of all, a bike with the Grim Reaper in mind. Seriously, it’s a very cool bike! Go and check it out, and the other rewards:
- Trad Goth Buckled Boots (Create-A-Sim)
- Sugar Skull Freezer Boney (Inventory)
- Bird of Paradise (Inventory)
- Grim’s Cruiser (Build Mode)
Week 3 of Reaper’s Rewards Event Conclusion

Week 4 will surely bring more tasks that will bring you another step closer to making Ambrosia. Week 4 will begin from October 15th, so stay tuned!
