1. How to Join the Business Career
To begin the Business career in The Sims 4, open the phone or computer and choose Find a Job or Join a Career. Select the Business icon to get started. Sims who have no current job can also join via the Career panel.
If your Sim graduated from high school with top grades, they may start at level 2 or 3. With a relevant university degree, they can start at level 6 or even 8 depending on GPA.
As with all careers in The Sims 4, the Business career can be applied through Find a Job or Join a Career.
2. Best Objects and Skills for Promotions
To progress quickly in the Business career, your Sim needs to improve Charisma and Logic. Having the right objects at home helps build these skills and complete daily tasks efficiently.
- Computer: Required for daily tasks like Fill Out Reports and Research Stocks.
- Mirror: Used to build Charisma (via Practice Speech).
- Chess Table or Telescope: Boosts Logic and sets a Focused mood.
- Microscope: Also raises Logic and may generate collectible prints.
Chess tables can be found at Community Lots, but it’s ideal to buy your own.

- Only available 8pm–8am
- Use phone > Business tab > Make Business Calls
- Fulfilled with one successful call
Make Business Calls isn’t always available.
Research Stocks
- Use computer > Web > Research Stocks
- Must be completed twice to hit 100%
Research Stocks is found in the same place as Fill Out Reports.
Bonus Activity: Invest in Stocks
- Invest in Stocks available with Investor branch.
- Computer > Web > Invest in Stocks.
- Choose to invest §1,000, §2,000, or §5,000.
- Wait a few days to hear back about investment success.

- The Write Stuff: Write Book = Earn §10,000

- Elevator Encounter: Say Something = Fame or awkward silence
If Get Famous is installed, you may get extra chance cards that can boost fame but hurt career progression.
- Coming Up Short: Either gain fame or lose money
- Nasty Business: Either gain fame and money or lose reputation

- Avoid burnout—don’t overuse the “Work Hard” option
- Always keep Needs green before filling out reports or making calls
Be careful when setting your Sims to Work Hard. They can easily Burnout if they overwork.
