The Blast From the Past Event that is currently taking place in The Sims 4 is really rolling along now. We’re halfway through, with the two quests from Week 3 having come around. With just one more week to go after this, the end is nearly in sight! The good news is that Week 3’s two quests are easy to do, with nothing too demanding, so you can get this wrapped up in no time and earn those next set of rewards. Let’s take you through all the tasks in the two quests of Week 3 in The Sims 4‘s Blast From the Past Event!
If you want to catch up on the first two weeks of this event, you can follow our guides:
The Setback Quest Walkthrough
Total Quest Event Points: 50
This is the first of the two quests of Week 3, and also the longest. Remember that with the Blast From the Past Event, you need to complete the first quest to access the second. However, this one isn’t too difficult to complete, and shouldn’t take very long.
Activate the Time Travel Component
Event Points: 25
If you recall what you had to do in Week 2, you should still have your Time Travel Component on your Sim. You’ll be needing it this week. For this first task, you need to activate it. To do this, you need to do the following:
- Find a computer.
- Select Activate Time Travel Component.
- Wait for your Sim to finish.
Repair or Replace the Computer
Event Points: 25
Whoops! It seems that attempting to activate the Time Travel Component has broken the computer! Don’t panic; this is supposed to happen. It’s also very easy to fix the computer and complete this task. You can do one of the following:
- Try to Repair the computer yourself. If your Sim has a decent Handiness Skill, they can attempt to fix the computer themself. If your Sim’s Handiness Skill is very low, there’s a higher chance of them getting electrocuted. Otherwise, they should be okay. If you don’t want to take this risk, go with one of the other options.
- Call someone to fix the computer. If your Sim isn’t skilled enough to repair the computer, you can get a professional to do it. It costs 100 Simoleons plus an extra 10 Simoleons per hour to call them out. They’ll arrive at your Sim’s Lot promptly and get to work repairing the computer. To get a serviceman, you can:
- Select your Sim’s phone, then select Home (Blue Icon) > Hire a Service. From the list, Repair Service is what you want.
- Select the broken computer, then choose Hire Repair Service.
- The third option in this task is to replace the broken computer. If your Sim’s Handiness Skill is poor, or you don’t want to spend time waiting to get it fixed, and you have plenty of money to spare, this might be the quickest solution. The cost of replacing the computer depends on how expensive the computer is worth.
- With the broken computer, you can use the phone to hire a service…
- Hire a service from the computer itself…
- Try to fix the computer yourself…
- Or you can just replace the computer.
Burn Off Steam by Exercising for an Hour
Event Points: 25
Breaking the computer was the last thing your Sim needed. The incident has left them a bit fried themselves. The best way to burn that off is by working out. More specifically, your Sim needs to do exercise for an hour. For this, they should do the following:
- Buy a treadmill, weight machine, or punching bag (if you don’t already own one).
- Use one of these equipment for one in-game hour.
- If you can’t afford any gym equipment or don’t have the room for it, why not head to a gym and use theirs? It’s free! Willow Creek has the Movers & Shakers gymnasium, but any gym will do.
- Willow Creek has a gym with lots of work out equipment.
- There’s nothing like a good work out to burn off your frustration from a broken computer.
Get Something to Eat
Event Points: 25
All this drama with the computer breaking has also made your Sim hungry. Why not let them have something to eat?
Get your Sim to have a meal. It can be anything you want. Then get your Sim to eat all of it. Make sure it fills their Hunger Need meter right up to full!
Ask Emit About the Malfunction
Event Points: 25
Getting the computer sorted brings this task up. Why did it break in the first place? The best person to ask about this is probably Emit, as the computer broke while trying to activate your Time Travel Component.
- Find Emit. You can either summon him to your current lot, or visit him at Magnolia Blossom Park in Willow Creek.
- Use the Ask About Malfunction interaction.

Emit must surely know a thing or two about malfunctioning computers after trying to activate Time Travel Components?
Overclock a Computer
Event Points: 25
After speaking to Emit, he makes it clear what happened. Your computer malfunctioned because it didn’t have enough processing power to deal with a new component like the Time Travel Component. The solution: overclock your computer!
To do this, it’s more ideal that your Sim does it with their own computer, if they haven’t got one yet. To complete this task, you should:
- Buy a computer, if you haven’t yet.
- Select the computer and choose Overclock. This should come up with the first set of options. It will also have Emit’s icon next to it.
- Wait for your Sim to finish.
The Setback Quest Conclusion
Overclocking the computer was the final step in this first quest of Week 3. You now have everything you need to experience time travel! Now, onto the next quest.
On the Hunt Quest Walkthrough
Total Quest Event Points: 50
We begin the second quest of Week 3 in the Blast From the Past Event in The Sims 4. This one is so super fast and easy, it’s one of those blink-and-you’ll-miss-it situations. Seriously!
Give Yourself a Pep Talk
Event Points: 25
This first task is really easy. Your Sim is probably feeling a little apprehensive about time travelling for the first time. To ease their nerves and boost their confidence, why not let them give themselves a pep talk?
To do this, you need to:
- Find a mirror. You can find one on any Lot, or you can just buy one.
- Select the mirror and choose Give Yourself a Pep Talk. This interaction will have Emit’s icon on it.
- Wait for your Sim to finish.
Look for the Thief by Playing in the Archives
Event Points: 35
This is the second and final task you need to do to complete this week. No, really! It’s another easy one as well. If this task sounds familiar, it is because you need to play The Sims Archives again.
Just like the other times, you need to:
- Go to a computer.
- Select Play Game.
- Select Play The Sims Archives, vol. 4.
- Wait for your Sim to finish playing.
On the Hunt Quest Conclusion
And that is it! Yes, that was very quick and easy. The good news as well is that your Sim managed to get the thief’s email address, setting up the final series of tasks in Week 4 of the Blast From the Past Event. Until then, why not enjoy the new rewards you unlocked this week?
Blast From the Past Week 3 Rewards
For this week, there’s quite a generous offering of rewards up for grabs. Don’t forget to go into the Event Screen and claim all the rewards you’ve unlocked while completing the tasks for the Blast From the Past Event.
