Stuff Packs for The Sims 4 aren’t what they used to be in The Sims 2 and 3. In those days, Stuff Packs were more like what Kits are now for The Sims 4. With The Sims 4 though, Stuff Packs have been upgraded to include not just new objects, but also objects with new functions. There are a lot of examples in the numerous Stuff Packs released for The Sims 4, so why don’t we go through all 20 of them and decide which is the best one?
I should note that I own every Stuff Pack for The Sims 4 except for Paranormal Stuff. However, I will still include it in this list.
For more rankings of The Sims 4, take a look at these:
Paranormal Stuff
Release Date: January 26, 2021
Stuff Pack Order: 18
Pros
- Create-A-Sim and Build Mode content looks pretty decent
- Paranormal Investigator career looks quite cool
Cons
- Don’t own this pack, not overly worried about getting it
As noted at the start, Paranormal Stuff is the only Stuff Pack I don’t own for The Sims 4. Therefore, I have to put it at the bottom of this list. But why do I not own this pack? There was a period when I wasn’t getting every single pack that came out for The Sims 4, mainly if I wasn’t that into it and decided to save my money. Paranormal Stuff was one of these.
It’s odd because I am actually interested in the paranormal, especially things like ghosts and hauntings. However, this particular pack just didn’t grab my attention. I wasn’t bothered about ghost hunting in The Sims 4. I have actually played the Paranormal Investigator career in the console version of The Sims 3 Pets, which I actually enjoyed. This might be the case with Paranormal Stuff, but until I bother to get it, I won’t know.
Fitness Stuff
Release Date: June 20, 2017
Stuff Pack Order: 11
Pros
- The Create-A-Sim stuff is really cool
Cons
- Build Mode items are okay, don’t use them much
- Have never used the climbing wall
I like keeping my Sims fit in my game, sending them to the gym or working out in front of the TV or going for a jog around the neighborhood. So why have I ranked The Sims 4 Fitness Stuff so low? In fact, it’s the lowest ranking Stuff Pack I own. It’s just that apart from the new clothing items, which I really, really like, I hardly use it. I’ve never used the new climbing wall object, not really being that interested. I don’t use the other new objects either, apart from maybe the gym equipment now and again. I’m not saying Fitness is terrible, but it’s just the one I probably use the least.
My First Pet Stuff
Release Date: March 13, 2018
Stuff Pack Order: 14
Pros
- Allows Sims to have pet rodents
- Adds more pet stuff for cats and dogs
- Adds extra Create-A-Sim stuff for pets and Sims
- Also includes additional items
Cons
- Don’t keep pets much so doesn’t get used much
- Might feel lacking for some
I know The Sims 4 My First Pet Stuff is a notorious pack. Why? Because it is essentially an expansion of an expansion. To be more specific, it’s an add-on for The Sims 4 Cats & Dogs Expansion. Without having that first, you can only really use half this stuff. Without pets, there’s no use for the new food bowls and cat towers and beds and scratching posts.
However, even though I don’t rate this Stuff Pack much either, I do think it deserves a little credit. It does come with an extra type of pet you can care for: rodents. You can keep a hamster, rat, hedgehog, or a bubalus (a strange purple creature akin to The Sims 4). I don’t usually bother with pets much in The Sims 4. I do use some of the other stuff this pack includes though, and when I do ever have pets, I do use the extra pet stuff from My First Pet.
Spooky Stuff
Release Date: September 29, 2015
Stuff Pack Order: 4
Pros
- Includes some neat Halloween costumes
- Ditto for the new objects
- The Pumpkin Carving Station is pretty cool
- Like the whole Halloween theme
Cons
- Not much of a party-thrower personally, so don’t use stuff much
- Have never used the Candy Bowl
When it comes to Halloween, you either like it, loathe it, or feel indifferent to it. I personally quite like Halloween. It’s fun, and I like seeing all the decorations and costumes. It helps that Halloween takes place during my favourite season as well: fall. Perhaps that’s why I feel endeared by The Sims 4 Spooky Stuff. Is it the best Stuff Pack of the bunch? Perhaps not, but I don’t think it’s a terrible one. If you want to get into the spirit of Halloween with costumes and plenty of new stuff to decorate for a party, you should definitely look to this pack.
Bowling Night Stuff
Release Date: March 29, 2017
Stuff Pack Order: 10
Pros
- Has some neat Create-A-Sim stuff with 1950s and bowling themes in mind
- Has everything you need to build your own bowling alley
- Comes packaged with a pre-made bowling alley to place anywhere in the game
Cons
- Don’t go bowling that much in the game, if ever
I honestly hate that I’ve never tried bowling out in The Sims 4 with the Bowling Night Stuff Pack. It looks so cool! I love the whole retro 1950s theme that comes with this pack too. I love that decade. One of these days, I must plonk down a bowling alley in one of the worlds and send my Sims to the bowling alley. I can’t even remember if I did it with The Sims 2 Nightlife.
Luxury Party Stuff
Release Date: May 19, 2015
Stuff Pack Order: 1
Pros
- Love all the dazzling Create-A-Sim stuff
- The Chocolate Fountain is pretty cool
- All the party objects are fun
Cons
- Don’t throw many parties, so objects don’t get used that much
I can still remember when The Sims 4 Luxury Party Stuff was announced and then released. It was the very first Stuff Pack for The Sims 4, and I didn’t think it was a bad start to these particular packs. You only get 12 objects, but you get tons of new Create-A-Sim stuff, and that for me is the biggest selling point of this Stuff Pack. I adore the glam party outfits you get with Luxury Party, and use them quite frequently, especially the dresses.
Vintage Glamour Stuff
Release Date: December 6, 2016
Stuff Pack Order: 9
Pros
- Love the collection of objects
Cons
- Never use the butler
- Hardly use the vanity
- Don’t use the Create-A-Sim stuff much
When I look back on my pros-and-cons list, it seems I don’t really use The Sims 4 Vintage Glamour Stuff. So why did I put it above some of the other Stuff Packs in this ranking? Honestly, I do love the objects that come with this pack, so much that I guess they make up for the other parts I don’t use. I love all the different swatches and colors, how they all match together. You can create some really stunning rooms with this stuff.
Crystal Creations Stuff
Release Date: February 29, 2024
Stuff Pack Order: 20
Pros
- Making jewelry is good fun and profitable
- The crystal trees look so cool
- Crystals and metals now have more uses
- Build Mode stuff is pretty good
Cons
- Not that big on the new Create-A-Sim stuff
- Don’t use that much
Crystal Creations is the most recent Stuff Pack (to date) released for The Sims 4, and in all honesty, it’s not that bad. The Gemology skill is actually quite interesting, and you can make a tidy profit from your creations at the crafting table. Plus, you can use all kinds of crystals with different properties and side effects for your Sims, not just for decoration. I also have to say, I like the new objects purposed for decking out your jewelry-crafting space, especially the different colors.
Moschino Stuff
Release Date: August 13, 2019
Stuff Pack Order: 15
Pros
- The Create-A-Sim stuff is very stylish
- The Fashion Photographer career is really creative and good fun
Cons
- Have only tried the career once
- Don’t use items a lot
The Sims 4 Moschino Stuff is a pretty decent pack, as far as I’m concerned. I’ve only done the Fashion Photographer freelancer career once, but I did enjoy it at the time. You do need a lot of space to put in all the professional photography stuff, but it is worth it to get some really great shots. Plus, I had a lot of fun doing the outfits, make-up, and hair for the models. Thinking about it, I ought to try out the Fashion Photographer career again some day.
On an additional note, I really like some of the new CAS stuff. My favorite is a matching black/gold jacket and shorts and matching leather jacket and skirt for the feminine Sims.
Laundry Day Stuff
Release Date: January 16, 2018
Stuff Pack Order: 13
Pros
- Has a good selection of Create-A-Sim stuff
- Love the Cottagecore themed objects
- Does a good job with the laundry gameplay
- Offers two types of laundry: modern machines or old-fashioned
Cons
- Don’t use laundry much in the game
Wait, a whole Stuff Pack about laundry? Yep, that’s absolutely right! Laundry Day was actually the first community voted Stuff Pack for The Sims 4, and this was the result. And actually, it’s pretty decent. Don’t be quick to put down the theme, because it does contain some quality stuff that makes this pack worth while. I especially like the Cottagecore-esque clothing and items that comes packaged with Laundry Day. I also appreciate that you’re given two ways to do laundry, either with modern machines or more traditional methods.
Toddler Stuff
Release Date: August 24, 2017
Stuff Pack Order: 12
Pros
- Adds more stuff for toddlers, including hair, outfits, and objects
- Not just for toddlers, but catering to other Sims as well
Cons
- Hardly use toddler play equipment stuff
If I’m not mistaken, The Sims 4 Toddler Stuff came out around the time that toddlers were introduced in The Sims 4 (yes, it is hard to believe that toddlers weren’t always in the game). People might look at this Stuff Pack and think it’s just adding more stuff for toddlers. Yes, that is true, but I do like the stuff that comes with this pack, so I don’t mind personally. Also, it’s not just stuff for toddlers, but other things like a new grill and stuff for creating a fun and colorful outdoor picnic for families to enjoy.
Movie Hangout Stuff
Release Date: January 12, 2016
Stuff Pack Order: 5
Pros
- Watching movies is a fun pastime
- The new objects are very bold and attractive
- The Create-A-Sim stuff is very fun and vibrant
- Popcorn!
Cons
- Don’t normally use big screen TVs or popcorn machine
I enjoy watching movies in my free time, alongside playing games. Maybe that’s why I quite like The Sims 4 Movie Hangout Stuff. I have to be honest, I don’t normally use the objects or clothing, although I do think they are vibrant and attractive. With the movies themselves, you do get a generous offering of 10 different movies, and it’s hard to not watch them, as they are quite entertaining.
Romantic Garden Stuff
Release Date: February 9, 2016
Stuff Pack Order: 6
Pros
- Lush Create-A-Sim offerings
- The new garden stuff is even better, especially the plants
Cons
- Hardly used the wishing well or fountain
I love gardens, especially beautifully landscaped ones with lots of different colorful flowers. That’s the main reason I’m so attracted to The Sims 4 Romantic Garden Stuff. I admit that I haven’t actually used the new fountain and wishing well much, but the other objects are fabulous, and Sims get new CAS stuff to match. Generally, it’s just a very pretty Stuff Pack.
Home Chef Hustle Stuff
Release Date: September 28, 2023
Stuff Pack Order: 19
Pros
- I adore the new Create-A-Sim stuff
- I also love the new kitchen objects
- The pizza oven, mixer, and waffle maker are fab
- Selling cooked or baked wares is rewarding
- Aspirations just for this Stuff Pack
Cons
- Don’t use new stuff much (but I should!)
I mean that last point. I honestly don’t know why I don’t use the new pizza oven and waffle maker from The Sims 4 Home Chef Hustle Stuff. I used them when I first got this pack and enjoyed making the different recipes available. I should start using them again!
I do, however, absolutely love the new clothing and objects that comes with Home Chef Hustle. I like that every age group gets something. I especially love the outfits with patterns including lemons, pizzas, and raspberries. The new kitchen objects are great too. They are pricey, but well worth decking your kitchen out in.
Perfect Patio Stuff
Release Date: June 16, 2015
Stuff Pack Order: 2
Pros
- Adds fresh new swimwear
- The new objects are great
- Hot tubs!
Cons
- Could have done with more Create-A-Sim stuff
I actually have a hard time coming up with downsides to The Sims 4 Perfect Patio Stuff. I don’t always own a hot tub in the game (and haven’t for a while, in fact), but they are seriously great for a place to Sims to relax in and just hang out. I especially like the other new objects that come with Perfect Patio. It really does have everything you need to create the perfect patio for your Sims’ backyards. I really like the Create-A-Sim stuff too, although I wish there was a little more. I think more of the focus was on the new objects, to be fair.
Cool Kitchen Stuff
Release Date: August 11, 2015
Stuff Pack Order: 3
Pros
- Ice cream? Yes, please!
- Lots of ice cream flavors
- Ice cream can have garnishes and toppings added
- Ice cream can also be served on a cone or in a bowl
- Especially cool new objects and Create-A-Sim items
Cons
- I wish finished ice cream would be placed in world, not in Sim’s inventory
I really have a difficult time finding fault with The Sims 4 Cool Kitchen Stuff. I mean, you get to make ice cream? How can you go wrong with that?! In all seriousness though, Cool Kitchen is very good when it comes to ice cream making, due to the points I made above. And you get to build an equally cool kitchen to make it in.
Backyard Stuff
Release Date: July 19, 2016
Stuff Pack Order: 8
Pros
- Love the whole summer theme this pack brings
- Bright and fun Create-A-Sim content
- Vibrant and summery new objects
Cons
- Haven’t really used new objects much
I really love The Sims 4 Backyard Stuff. I may not have dabbled much with the new objects like the bird feeder, wind chimes, drinks tray, or water slide, but I just love the whole summery vibe this pack brings. I love decorating my Sims’ backyards with stuff from this pack, and dressing them up in the fresh summer threads.
Tiny Living Stuff
Release Date: January 21, 2020
Stuff Pack Order: 16
Pros
- I love the cozy Create-A-Sim stuff
- The objects are just amazing
Cons
- Haven’t really played around much with tiny residential lots
- The murphy beds are a right pain
The Sims 4 Tiny Living is another Stuff Pack I really love to use, hence why it’s so high on this list. It’s not perfect. I hardly use the murphy bed, as a Sim’s death from being crushed by one is almost inevitable. It’s a shame actually because it’s a cool-looking object. I mainly like Tiny Living so much because I just generally love all the new clothing and objects that comes with it. I’m really into cozy clothing and environments, so this was definitely for me.
Kids Room Stuff
Release Date: June 28, 2016
Stuff Pack Order: 7
Pros
- Lots of new stuff just for kids
- Really cool Create-A-Sim stuff
- Stylish objects just for creating rooms for kids
- Lots of different swatches available
Cons
- Don’t use new Puppet Theater and Voidcritter Station much
I love it whenever new stuff is added in for kids in The Sims, so naturally, The Sims 4 Kids Room ranks really high for me on this list. I’m not much bothered by the two new objects, but I love the other stuff so much, the new outfits and objects, that I don’t really care.
Nifty Knitting Stuff
Release Date: July 28, 2020
Stuff Pack Order: 17
Pros
- Knitting!
- Lots of different things to knit in different colors and designs
- Whole aspiration dedicated to Knitting Skill
- Love the new objects
- The new Create-A-Sim stuff is great too
Cons
- Some CAS items have to be unlocked by knitting them
Hang on a second. Did I really just put a pack dedicated to knitting at the very top of this ranking list for The Sims 4 Stuff Packs? Yes I did! I don’t really know what it is about The Sims 4 Nifty Knitting that makes me love it so much that I just had to put it first. Actually, I do! I just love the knitting activity. It’s so creative and fun to do, and it’s relaxing for my Sims to do. It’s a really great pastime for them. There’s so much Sims can knit, such as hats, socks, jumpers, onesies for the little ones, toys, hanging plant pots, and mailboxes. To be honest, this is probably one of the few Stuff Packs where I often use the new gameplay item it comes with. It just pretty much ticks every box for me.
