An Overview of The Sims 4 Cozy Kitsch and Sweet Slumber Party Kits

Let's take a closer look at the newest Kits for The Sims 4, Cozy Kitsch and Sweet Slumber Party. I've decided that it's about time I start reviewing The Sims 4 Kits whenever they come out, starting with the latest (and maybe last) Kits in this year's To Be Continued season.

An Overview of The Sims 4 Cozy Kitsch and Sweet Slumber Party Kits

For the past few years, I’ve done reviews of The Sims 4 packs, starting with Cottage Living Expansion and the most recent being Life & Death Expansion. But I’ve never done a review on any Kits for The Sims 4 before. I admit, I don’t get every single Kit that comes out, at least not right away. When I saw the latest releases, Cozy Kitsch and Sweet Slumber Party, I decided I was going to get them both. Then I decided that I should review them each.

For a quick briefing, Cozy Kitsch and Sweet Slumber Party are the first two official Creators Kits, meaning that creators from The Sims community collaborated with The Sims Team to make these Kits. Cozy Kitsch was done by Myshunosun, and Sweet Slumber Party was made by Trillyke. Previous Kits have also been made in collaboration with other designers, but Cozy Kitsch and Sweet Slumber Party mark the first official Creators Kits, with more planned in the future.

You can now get The Sims 4 Cozy Kitsch Kit and The Sims 4 Sweet Slumber Party Kit for PC via Steam and EA App, Mac via Origin, PlayStation 4 | 5, Xbox One | Xbox Series X / S, and Epic Games Store. They each cost $4.99.

Sweet Slumber Party Kit

I’m going to start this review with The Sims 4 Sweet Slumber Party Kit because it’s my favorite. Not only is it my favorite Kit out of these two releases, but it’s now probably one of my top 3 Kits for The Sims 4, along with Pastel Pop and Poolside Splash.

For one, I love pyjamas, and this Kit is right up my alley. I was very excited when Sweet Slumber Party was announced. A part of me worried I would ultimately be disappointed when I eventually got my hands on it, but I’m pleased to say I wasn’t. This Kit comes bundled with a generous bundle of new nightwear for Sims. It is unfortunate that kids don’t get anything new, but to be honest, I think kids in The Sims 4 have some good pyjama wear already (although I won’t object to more!) Before this Kit, I felt that pyjamas for teens and older in The Sims 4 were a little lacking, even with the numerous packs released over the years. I often found it hard to find stuff that either coordinated or looked like pyjamas. There are a few exceptions, like the pyjamas that came with Tiny Living and Growing Together, but otherwise it was a little hit-and-miss. The Sims 4 Sweet Slumber Party Kit has filled in that missing gap though.

I was excited when I first browsed through the new pyjamas that came with Sweet Slumber Party. What you get is a decent handful of co-ordinated tops and bottoms, outfits, and even accessories like a new eye mask, socks, slippers, and even nail designs. Kits usually don’t come with a huge amount of stuff like bigger packs in The Sims 4, but I felt that Sweet Slumber Party provided a generous offering of new jammies. Plus, the various swatches of colors and patterns gives you what feels like more. If you’re a fan of sweet pastel colors and cheery patterns, then Sweet Slumber Party definitely ticks this box.

I love the fact that Sims get some new bedwear accessories as well, not just the pyjamas themselves. I adore the new socks. One has animal faces on them like cats, foxes, and owls. The other goes over the knees, are fluffy, and comes in stripy patterns, bows, and plain. They work wonderfully with the new pyjamas. Also, the slippers! I really love them. We haven’t had new slippers like these in The Sims 4 for a while, if ever, so these were definitely a welcome treat. There’s also a sweet new eye mask. I don’t personally wear them or have my Sims use them much, but I like this one, so maybe I will. There are also some new face accessories, such as acne stickers, eye masks, and pores to complete that look. Finally, Sweet Slumber Party has also added two new nail designs, which look great with the selection of pyjamas.

The way I’ve gone on makes it sound like this Kit is strictly for feminine Sims – but there’s stuff for masculine Sims as well! There’s not one, but two co-ordinating pyjamas for masculine Sims. One is a short-sleeve button-up shirt and shorts, the other a fluffy baggy long-sleeved shirt and pants. I honestly love these two sets of outfits, especially the different swatches.

I can see Sims of all ages wearing these pyjamas, from teens to adults and elders. Sims of any age will rock these outfits. I especially feel this Kit would complement other packs well, like Pastel Pop KitHigh School YearsGrowing TogetherCottage Living, and more.

The Sims 4 Sweet Slumber Party is definitely in my top 3 of all-time favorite Kits. I’m honestly very, very pleased with this one. If you’re a big pyjama fan or want some new nightwear for your Sims, you should definitely consider this one. I would have loved new stuff for the kids too, but maybe in a future Kit or pack?

Cozy Kitsch Kit

Let’s move onto the second Kit that was released on November 14th 2024: The Sims 4 Cozy Kitsch Kit. This unfortunately hasn’t made it into my top 3 Kits list, unlike Sweet Slumber Party, but that doesn’t mean I don’t like it. What drew me to this Kit were the strikingly-colored and tasteful objects. I quite like this sort of stuff, so I went for this Kit as well.

What impressed me right away was the amount of content packaged in Cozy Kitsch. I didn’t think we’d get this much stuff. It might only be 20 or so items, but it still felt a lot. I also liked the variety of items that we got.

In summary, Cozy Kitsch provides objects that you would see in a living room, dining room, or kitchen (no kitchen stuff like with Country Kitchen, but there is a dining table, chairs, and stool). I think the stuff in this Kit would look good in an open-living space, whether it be a house or an apartment.

I like the combination of bright and bold colors that comes with The Sims 4 Cozy Kitsch Kit.

The objects that come with Cozy Kitsch are modern yet they have a retro look about them. Certain objects give this impression, such as the new radio, checkered-patterned rug and fireplace, storage cupboards, and the dining and coffee tables. Just altogether they create that vintage look that’s really stylish.

I’d like to talk about the color swatches as well. They’re vibrant-yet-oddly-subtle, being very striking and stand-out yet not being annoyingly in-your-face. Even the zingy oranges and yellows have a welcome subtly about them, providing a stylish warm look. I know some like to mix-and-match colors, but I’m more of a co-ordinated colors sort of designer. The objects and their color palettes with Cozy Kitsch certainly allow you to do that, and they look really great together. I’ve mentioned orange and yellow, but you also get dark green, blues, and black, grey, and white. You get a good number of different colors to try out.

Overall, Cozy Kitsch is a pretty good Kit. While I do like Sweet Slumber Party a lot more, I think I can see myself using the stuff from Cozy Kitsch. Although it doesn’t come with new wall or floor patterns, I don’t mind this at all because I had fun trying out the different base game wall and floor patterns to see how they went with the new stuff.

To summarize, if I was to give each Kit a score, I would easily rate Sweet Slumber Party a 10 out of 10, and Cozy Kitsch a solid 8. This for me was a good Kit release, maybe because they were designed by notable The Sims designers. It’s not that past Kits haven’t been good, but these get a definite thumbs-up from me.
