When 2025 came around and a new season of The Sims 4 started, we were graced with not one, not two, but three brand-new Kits. These were Comfy Gamer, Secret Sanctuary, and Casanova Cave. Initially, I wasn’t sure what to make of these Kits, although Comfy Gamer easily appealed to me the most. However, I decided to check them out and see if they were worth bothering with. Can I see myself using these Kits in my game? Well, why don’t we find out, so you too can decide if these Kits are worth your time and money!
You can now get The Sims 4 Comfy Gamer Kit, Secret Sanctuary Kit, and Casanova Cave Kit for $4.99 each on the following platforms: PC via Steam and EA App, Mac via Origin, PlayStation 4 | 5, Xbox One | Xbox Series X/S, and Epic Games Store.
Comfy Gamer Kit
Of the three games we’re reviewing here, I’ll start with my favorite of the bunch: The Sims 4 Comfy Gamer Kit. Anyone who knows me will know that I’m not just a gamer, but also a cozy gamer. And that’s probably why I was the most drawn to Comfy Gamer Kit out of the three released on January 16th, 2025.
This Kit was created in collaboration with lilsimsie, a well-known Simmer and YouTuber. I’ve watched a few of her videos and she’s probably my favorite YouTuber for The Sims. That may be another factor in what attracted me to Comfy Gamer, because lilsimsie reminds me of myself as a Simmer and gamer. But you’re probably curious to know what Comfy Gamer Kit is all about and what you can expect to get when you purchase it, so let’s get right on with it.
New Objects
Comfy Gamer adds new items that ideally would suit a study, although they could work in a bedroom setting as well. These items include:
- A new office chair
 - Desk
 - Computer
 - Pinboard
 - Posters of notable retro Sims games
 - A cubed cubby table
 - Nifty accessories to complete the “comfy gamer” look

All these items mainly come in soft and calming pastel colors, as well as subtle wooden textures. What I find especially appealing is that in the design of the objects, they aren’t too feminine or child-like. But also, if you wanted to mix these items up with others to create different looks, maybe grunge or goth, there’s licence to do so as well.
Comfy Gamer would also work well with other DLC for The Sims 4, such as High School Years Expansion and Pastel Pop Kit, as well as Kids’ Room. I can envision Sims of various ages using these items; kids, teenagers, adults. It would also work for Sims who spend a lot of their time on computers, whether for leisure or work: school work, gaming, social media, livestreaming.
Final Summary of Comfy Gamer
I can definitely see myself using the stuff from Comfy Gamer Kit, and I think this Kit is well worth looking into getting. Don’t think it’s just for kids or girls or cozy gamers. The swatches these items have come in both neutral and darker colors so you can experiment and mix them up with items from other packs.
If I had to give The Sims 4 Comfy Gamer Kit a score, I would rate it 10 out of 10 easily.
Secret Sanctuary Kit
Let’s move onto the next Kit, The Sims 4 Secret Sanctuary. This one (and the next) is a little different to Comfy Gamer, for one or two reasons. The first is that their themes are to create spaces for older Sims to hang out in, with varying objects and slightly different themes. The main thing though is that for the first time ever for a Kit, they include both objects and clothing, not just one or the other. It was this that had me intrigued. I admit that the concept of Kits being based on a hangout space felt a bit lacking, but I was curious enough to try them both out. And you know what? I was actually pleasantly surprised!
Starting with Secret Sanctuary, this one is more tailored towards feminine Sims, creating a relaxing space for them to hangout in and call their own. This hangout can be their own sanctuary, or a place for their friends to come and visit. It wasn’t until I explored the Create-A-Sim items and the objects to really see what the vision was.
New Clothing
I’ll start with Create-A-Sim, because there’s nothing I like more than new outfits to dress my Sims up in. I have to say that I simply adore the new clothing that comes with Secret Sanctuary. They’re so fresh and feminine and stylish. Your Sims will look and feel like a million bucks in these threads. What really impressed me with not just Secret Sanctuary but also Casanova Cave was the variety of clothing, in terms of their design and usage.
For Secret Sanctuary, you can dress your Sims up in:
- A smart jacket
 - Fashionable halter top
 - Stunning pencil skirt
 - A gorgeous evening gown
 - A slinky body suit
 - A puffy night jacket
 - A fab pair of trousers and shorts

Then there’s the accessories, including:
- Some seriously cool boots
 - Some sweet shoes
 - A slender watch
 - A beautiful necklace
 - Gorgeous earrings

Your Sim will be the envy of everyone dressed up in the stuff from Secret Sanctuary!
New Objects
What about the objects? Are they just as good? I would say yes. With Secret Sanctuary, you’ll get:
- A new vanity table with a chair to match
 - Plush sofa to relax on
 - A sophisticated tea tray
 - Framed TV
 - A classic gramophone
 - Ornate fireplace
 - Sleek built-in bookcase
 - Beautiful-framed pictures and music box to add those final touches

Secret Sanctuary may have slightly less objects than past Kits, but it’s plenty enough to create a luxurious safe haven for your Sims.
Final Summary of Secret Sanctuary
When it comes to Secret Sanctuary, I’m mostly sold by the new Create-A-Sim items, but the objects are worth checking out too. When I think of other packs for The Sims 4, this one reminds me of Get Famous Expansion and Vintage Glamour Stuff. This Kit complements those well.
For my final verdict, I would probably give Secret Sanctuary a 7.5 out of 10.
Casanova Cave Kit
Now for the third and final Kit, Casanova Cave. To me, this is like the masculine equivalent of Secret Sanctuary, with clothing and items geared more towards men, or masculine types. Does Casanova Cave match up to its feminine counterpart, or is it more or less impressive? This is what I would say: I love Secret Sanctuary‘s Create-A-Sim content, but with Casanova Cave, I like both the clothes and the objects.
New Clothing
Again, I’ll begin with the Create-A-Sim additions. I was really impressed with Casanova Cave. I sometimes find masculine clothing hit-or-miss in The Sims 4. This one was most definitely a hit. Clothing-wise, with this Kit you get:
- A cool jacket
 - Smart shirt
 - Matching sleeveless workout shirt and shorts
 - Sharp suit jacket and matching pants
 - An equally-sharp vest
 - Casual loungewear

For additional accessories, you get:
- A watch with bangles
 - A chain necklace
 - Sunglasses

In the clothing department, Casanova Cave hit the jackpot. It’s probably my favorite collection of masculine wear in The Sims 4, and I can definitely see my Sims wearing these.
New Objects
Let’s move onto the objects. Are they just as good as the clothing or not so much? In this case, I’m pleased to say that Casanova Cave‘s objects live up to the clothing. With this Kit, to create a more masculine sanctuary, you get:
- A sleek sofa
 - Stylish coffee table
 - Sweet display shelves
 - A swish drinks bar
 - Games table
 - Turntable

My favorite pieces though are:
- The framed art works
 - Giant TV screen
 - Modern mini fridge

I honestly love the new objects that comes with Casanova Cave Kit. In fact, I might go as far as saying that when comparing the two adult hangout spaces kits, Casanova Cave for me is the winner. I think it’s because it ticks the boxes for both clothing and objects. Not that Secret Sanctuary is bad, but Casanova Cave does it a bit better.
Final Summary of Casanova Cave
Casanova Cave Kit is definitely one to look at getting, for both CAS and objects. I can certainly see myself having my Sims wear these clothes and add these items to their home. This Kit would complement other packs such as Get Together Expansion, City Living Expansion… in fact, quite a few of them.
My final score for Casanova Cave Kit has to be 9 out of 10.
That covers all the Kits in this overview. My final ranking from first to third is Comfy Gamer, Casanova Cave, and Secret Sanctuary. On the whole, these Kits are all good and will add something to The Sims 4, finding their way in your game.
