We’ve just got through the first month of 2025 and already we have 5 Kits released for The Sims 4, which must be a new record. On January 30th, we got two new Kits: Business Chic, a Fashion Kit, and Refined Living Room, a Build Kit. With the Kits count going up and up, the question is: are these two new Kits worth getting? Why don’t we take a closer look at each of them and find out!
You can now get The Sims 4 Business Chic Kit and The Sims 4 Refined Living Room Kit for $4.99 each on PC via Steam and EA App, Mac via Origin, PlayStation 4 | 5, Xbox One | Xbox Series X/S, and Epic Games Store.

Business Chic
Let’s begin with the first of the two Kits, Business Chic. This is a Fashion Kit, adding around 20 new items for adult Sims in Create-A-Sim. Specifically, as the name suggests, the items have a business theme. Additionally, this is a Creator Kit, made by Madlen. Let’s take a closer look at everything you can find in The Sims 4 Business Chic Kit.
- The Sims 4 Business Chic Kit adds new outfits for Sims.
- These outfits are tailored for smart office wear, but could be worn in other scenarios as well.
New Outfits
If you’re looking for sharp business attire for your Sims, then Business Chic has you covered there. It adds items for masculine and feminine Sims, although I felt there were more options for women. That’s not to say I felt let down by the fewer options for men, although I was expecting more suits for them. Despite this though, I do like what we got. There’s some really good stuff with this Kit.
With Business Chic, you get the following items:
- A masculine suit jacket
- A crisp-yet-casual shirt
- A comfy-yet-smart skin-tight jumper
- A loose and casual shirt
- Two smart masculine bottoms
- Polished pair of masculine shoes
- A knitted t-shirt
- A sharp feminine jacket
- A stylish shirt
- Crisp pencil skirt
- Smart feminine trousers
- A suit dress
- A sharp striped-blouse and trousers combo outfit
- A stylish dress
- Three pairs of smart heeled shoes
- A pair of boots
- Hooped earrings
- Matching necklace
- Two funky sunglasses
- A slim and stylish watch
- A showcase of masculine clothing from The Sims 4 Business Chic Kit.
- A showcase of feminine clothing from The Sims 4 Business Chic Kit.
This is quite a list, so you get a plentiful offering of a smart wardrobe for your Sims. Your sharp-minded Sims will now certainly have something to wear to match. These outfits are perfect for working at the office, whether it’s in the Business career or an owned venture. Other scenarios that come to mind include the Salaryperson career from The Sims 4 Snowy Escape Expansion, as well as the base game’s Criminal, Tech Guru, and Writer careers. Plus, when your Sims aren’t working, some of the clothes would work well in their downtime, so they still look smart but more casual.
But what about outside the office? What if your Sims don’t work in business? They may also work with wealthier Sims who want to look the part as they live in their lavish mansions. I can see celebrities wearing these outfits from The Sims 4 Get Famous Expansion.
Final Summary of Business Chic
On the whole, The Sims 4 Business Chic Kit is pretty neat. It gives you what it says on the tin: a handful of clothing threads for Sims who want to dress sharply for the office. It’s good that this Kit adds more options for work-related clothing, or at least ultra smart clothing for the right occasions, or if they want to make a powerful statement.
For my final score, I’ll give Business Chic an 8 out of 10.
Refined Living Room
Let’s now look at the other Kit: The Sims 4 Refined Living Room. Are you looking for new furniture to deck out your Sims’ living rooms? I myself sometimes dither over how to design my Sims’ living rooms. That’s why Refined Living Room might appeal to you. Plus, I feel this Kit actually complements Business Chic quite well, making it seem more like sense to release them together. Let’s see what The Sims 4 Refined Living Room Kit, another Creator Kit (this time from Pierisim), has in store.
New Objects
Just like Business Chic, Refined Living Room adds around 20 items to your game, all designed for living room use, although there’s nothing technically stopping you from using them elsewhere. They could, for example, be used in a study setting. You’re probably curious to know exactly what objects you get, so let’s take a closer look and list them all here:
- A sofa
- Loveseat that is a shorter version of the sofa
- Living chair to match
- Another living chair that doesn’t quite match but looks nice anyway
- A coffee table
- An end table that goes with the coffee table
- An accent table that has its own chic style
- An ornamental stand to display sculptures on
- A modern contemporary framed painting
- A neat potted plant
- Some sculptures and clutter items to give the room those finishing touches
- A rug with a cool intricate design
- A cool-looking table lamp
- An even cooler-looking floor lamp
- A big bookshelf
- Some smaller storage for books
- A wooden panelled wall pattern
That’s pretty much everything. You get everything you need to create that cool and contemporary look for your living room. You might think it all looks a bit expensive. These items certainly are luxurious, but they’re not outlandishly expensive. Admittedly, starter Sims may not be able to completely deck out their living rooms with all this stuff. They may need a few thousand if they want to buy the lot. However, I’ve seen more expensive stuff in The Sims 4, and these items will look good in any home.
The one thing that should be noted, and it’s really a minor thing, but this Kit doesn’t include a styled room, which is quite unusual. So don’t think you can get a styled room pre-built with all the stuff from Refined Living Room.
Final Summary of Refined Living Room
The Sims 4 Refined Living Room Kit gets the same score from me as Business Chic, 8 out of 10. I like the items that comes packaged with this Kit, and while they are quite luxurious, they’re not silly expensive. Simply put, if you’re looking for more modern stylish stuff to deck your living room out in, then get Refined Living Room.
That’s it for this overview. I’m not sure when the next collection of Kits will release, but knowing The Sims 4, it shouldn’t be too long to wait. It’ll be interesting to see what comes next.
