Erangel is the oldest map in PlayerUknown’s Battlegrounds and remains one of the most popular. It is a popular map because of its balanced terrain suitable for mid and long-range combat. Although Erangel doesn’t have quite as much high ground as Miramar, it’s still a good map for sniping, with many big hills overlooking lower landscapes. Stalber
Stalber is the largest hill (or a mountain perhaps) in Erangel that is clearly labeled on the northeast corner of the map. This hill isn’t especially steep, but it’s one of the most elevated landscapes in Erangel, which even has cable cars to help you get up it in PUBG: Mobile. The southern and right sides of Erangel are great spots from which to pick off enemies walking up lower parts of the hillside beneath you. Or you may see some players going down the hill, which is even better for sniping them from behind.
The Quarry Region
Quarry is another clearly labeled location on the Erangel map. This is a good place to snipe because the lower inner quarry area is surrounded by steep elevated terrain. Players looting through the buildings within the lower quarry area are vulnerable to snipers situated on the elevated terrain overlooking it. However, the buildings offer some protection for players who come under fire there.
The high hill on the eastern side of Quarry is also a good spot for snipers. That hill provides a great view of the flat Farmlands area directly east of Quarry. You can see most of the farms from up there. Furthermore, Farmlands is a wide-open landscape that offers little cover for players who come under sniping fire.

The Big Hill Southeast of Georgopol
The big hill next to Georgopol is a prominent geographical feature that’s one of the best PUBG sniping locations in Erangel. That hill is very steep and kind of like the Rock of Gibraltar. The south side offers a fantastic view of the landscape east of Gatka, although there are a few trees around that can help players who come under fire. It’s also a great location to spot and pick off players entering Georgopol from the northern side.

Aside from that, this hill’s proximity to Georgopol is another advantage. Georgopol is one of the biggest towns in PUBG, which makes it one of the best places to find a decent sniper rifle. So, you can head to Georgopol first to find a weapon of choice for sniping before hiking up that city’s nearby hill.

The High Hill East of Sosnovka Military Base
There’s a radio station situated atop a very high hill (or cliffside) just east of Sosnovka Military Base. That very high hill is another good sniping location in Erangel. It offers a highly-elevated vantage point from which you can see much of the Sosnovka region. This hill is so high you’ll need a decent scope for your sniper rifle to make the most of it. Or you can snipe down players from the eastern side of that hill overlooking Novorepnoye.
The nearby Novorepnoye and Sosnovka Military Base locations are also good loot spots. Before heading up the radio station hill, you can stock up on all the gear you’ll need for sniping at those loot spots.

The Hill East of Pochinki
The large hill directly east of Pochinki offers good vantage points for sniping on its different sides. Its western side is an especially good spot that provides an expansive view of the open farm landscape leading to Pochinki. So, you have a good chance of spotting players leaving or heading toward Pochinki from there. An accomplished sniper can blow players away with ease from this hillside.
You can also do good sniping from the northern or southern sides of this hill. The northern side offers a good view of an area around the School location, where you can often spot enemies. However, there are quite a few trees on the southern side that can be an obstruction.

The Hill South of Zharki
Zharki is a relatively small town in the northwestern corner of the Erangel’s map. The hill directly south of that town offers a splendid view of wide-open farmland north of Georgopol on its eastern side. You’ll often see players moving in and out of Georgopol from there, where you can catch them out in the open with your sniper rifle.
