1. Alexstrasza

Alexstrasza is an old favorite for Dragon-orientated control decks. This legendary nine-mana card adds an 8/8 minion to the board. The card’s main attraction is its Battlecry that reduces your opponent’s health to 15. In the best-case scenario, you can half your opponent’s health from 30 to 15 with that Battlecry, which is pretty awesome. Alexstraza can also increase your hero’s health up to 15 when your hero has less energy than that. So, this card can also be a lifesaver.

However, this is one of the best Dragon cards in Hearthstone primarily because of the Dream Cards it provides at the end of your turns. Those are supercharged cards that can have a big impact. For example, the Emerald Drake Dream Card is a four-mana minion with fantastic 7/6 stats. The two-mana Ysera Awakens Dream Card inflicts five damage on all characters, except Ysera. Those are lovely cards to have in your hand.

3. Malygos, Aspect of Magic

How does a one-mana Polymorph spell sound to you? Yes, that might sound a bit too good to be true, but you can get exactly that when you play Malygos, Aspect of Magic. This five-mana Descent of Dragons card for Mage has a Battlecry effect that enables players to select (Discover) an upgraded spell card from a choice of three. 4. Dragonqueen Alexstraza

Dragonqueen Alexstraza is another of the best cards from the Descent of Dragons collection that has become a big part of Highlander decks. This is a legendary nine-mana minion with 8/8 attack and health stats. The card’s stats aren’t amazing for its mana value, but the Battlecry it has is something special. Dragonqueen adds two random Dragons to your hand and reduces their mana cost to zero so long as there are no duplicates in your deck when it’s played. That means it could add a zero-mana Ysera, Aspect of Magic, or Alexstrasza to your hand when you play this card!

5. Crazed Netherwing

This is a rare five-mana card for Warlock-class decks. Crazed Netherwing’s 5/5 stats are solid for five mana, and it boasts a very strong Battlecry effect. That Battlecry inflicts three damage on all other characters so long as you’re holding a Dragon when you play Netherwing. Netherwing’s Battlecry makes it one of the best area of effect cards Warlock has. This card is an especially potent weapon to have against zoo deck opponents who fill the board with numerous 2/2 or 3/3 minions. Netherwing will make light work of seven 3/3 minions on the board!
