Keep May 19th in your calendars because Pokémon Go‘s May Community Day is taking place. The event will take place between 2 to 5 PM your local time, with additional four-star raids happening afterward until 10 PM. During this time, the Pokémon Bounsweet will be spawning more frequently. This gives a great chance to even catch a shiny one during the event. Incense and luring modules will be a great way to increase your chance of finding one. These raids will have Steenee, Bounsweet’s next evolution, appearing as a four-star raid boss. However, you’ll only be able to participate in-person using a regular or premium raid pass. One you successfully complete one of the raids, an additional Bounsweet will appear around the gym for thirty minutes.
The featured attack for this month comes from Bounsweet’s final form, Tsareena. The move high jump kick will be given to every Tsareena so long as you evolve Steenee between 2 and 10 PM on the day of the event. This more has an amazing 110 power, but it’s downfall is that it has the chance to reduce your defense. However, if you’re able to put Tsareena in a gym, or use it for a raid, it has 90 power.

Bonuses
Of course, you can’t have Community Day without some event bonuses to get you ready to move. Every Bounsweet you catch will give you double the amount of candy. As an added bonus, for players 31 and above, it also doubles your chance of receiving candy XL. If that wasn’t enough, if you place an egg into a incubator, the distance you’ll need to walk is decreased by one-forth. To top off the community day bonuses, lure modules and incense will last for three hours, while trade costs are decreasing by half. Of course, the community day will also have some field research. From stardust to great balls, there’s so much to this event.
With the start of the event, two community day bundles will be available. For 1,350 pokécoins, you’ll get 50 ultra balls, 5 super incubators, one elite charged TM, and five lucky eggs. For 480 pokécoins, you’ll get 30 ultra balls, one incense, three super incubators, and one lure module. Event-themed stickers will also be available from pokéstops, opening gifts, and from the in-game shop.
