Pokémon GO Banned in Iran?

The authorities of Iran have banned the Pokemon GO app from being used due to security concerns. Why? We're not quite sure.

Pokémon GO Banned in Iran?
Sometime last night the popular AR (augmented reality) app Pokémon GO has officially been banned in Iran. The decision was initially made by the High Council of Virtual Spaces who oversees all online activity. This isn't the first time Pokémon GO has been a cause of concern, many other countries have also expressed their worries about the game. Even though there are restrictions on Internet usage in Iran, Iranians have been discussing playing the game in recent weeks. Apparently the authorities of Iran contacted Niantic, the game's creators, a month ago, discussing what extent they would co-operate with them.

In more related news, Indonesian police have been banned from playing Pokémon GO whilst on duty, and just last month a French player was arrested for allegedly going into a military base while trying to catch Pokemon. Besides all of that craziness, authorities of the New York state have said that they would ban approximately 3,000 registered sex offenders from playing Pokémon GO, which is good news for worried parents.

It's safe to say that Pokémon GO is most definitely a cause for concern. Remember to be safe, and please make sure you're aware of your surroundings. We don't want you wandering into a military base.
