Being a promise for such a large amount of experience points in one sitting in Pokémon GO, it’s easy to wonder how many Lucky Eggs this will cost you. The beauty of this is that you only need one to pull it off. However, you can use this method as many times as you like so feel free to hoard your eggs away to keep doing this in the future. Here’s how to earn 4 million EXP in Pokémon GO!
Nevertheless, this large payoff does require some preparation in building friendship levels in Pokémon Go. Assuming you’re starting off from scratch with not a single Pokémon Go friend to your account, you’ll need 20 friends to turn into Best Friends in total. If you’re planning to use this method more than once, you can have as many friends as you like (up to 200) to keep building on over time. As you know, Best Friend is the last of four levels in Pokémon Go friendships which are illustrated in the table below:
|Friendship Level||Total Number of Days to Unlock||Exp Earned|
By performing an in-game activity with a friend—like trading, battling, raiding and most importantly, gift-giving, at least once a day for the allotted number of days—you’ll eventually reach the next level. The fastest way to achieve an increase of your friend levels on a daily basis is of course through sending gifts, as you don’t have to be near players in order to do so.
A key aspect that often isn’t known of is that you and another player can only increase your friend level once per day. So, if they’ve opened a gift from you and they send you one back, don’t open it until the next day. Otherwise, it’ll be a waste of a gift. Funnily enough, this works into the more intricate bit.
As you keep building your friendship levels until you’re in the far end of the Ultra Friend stage, keep checking how many days are left until you become Best Friends. You can do this by clicking on the hearts in the far left on your friend’s profile. When you’re 1 day off becoming Best Friends and a friend has left you a gift, don’t open it and DO NOT send them a gift either. If you do, they’ll open it and unlock the Best Friend level prematurely.
Leave your friendships with 1 day left idle and keep repeating the gift giving process with other friends until you have a total of 20 Ultra Friends all with 1 day left until becoming Best Friends. Why 20? Because Pokémon Go only lets you open up to 20 gifts per day.
Now all you have to do is wait until each one has sent you a gift to open, then use one of your Lucky Eggs. With a Lucky Egg doubling any experience points you earn for half an hour, that’s more than enough time to open 20 gifts.
As you become Ultra Friends with the 20 friends you’ve stocked up on, you’d normally earn 100,000 experience, which will have now been doubled to 200,000 thanks to the Lucky Egg. Multiply that by 20 and you’ve just earned 4 million experience points in half an hour. Congratulations!
There’s even some rich icing to go on this exp-lucrative cake. If you’re in contact with any of your 20 friends, you can let them know when you’re using your lucky egg so they can enjoy the exp doubling too. As said before, you can build up friendship levels with more than the initial 20 to perform this method again. Any other exp earnings whilst you’re raking in your 4 million, such as catching Pokémon or achieving a new friendship level with another friend after sending THEM a gift, will also be doubled with any time you have to spare from your lucky egg. If you don’t earn coins often enough to buy more Lucky Eggs from the store, it’s important to make utilization of any you use as efficient as possible.
