New things are coming to Pokémon GO really soon. Rumored to be legendary Pokémon, reworks, and much more. If you're new to the game or returning, you may need some tips to get you back into the game. So here are the top 5 tips for Pokémon GO!
1. Explore places you've never been to before
So you may have a set place you like going to for Pokéstops and Gyms. It's still good to explore new places, such as a new park, a downtown area, and more just to find a variety of Pokémon. You'll never know till you try. But if you have a set area with a good amount of Pokéstops and a lot of people throwing up Lure Modules, I'd stick to that.
2. Try to organize a friday event for lure modules
So when you level up, you'll most likely get this neat little device called a Lure Module. With it you can lure Pokémon to a Pokéstop. Putting one down can be a bit effective but how about lighting up a whole park with Lure Modules? Sounds awesome right? Try using social media or texting friends to meet up on a weekend at a park or wherever you play to get the most out of a Lure Module. Do be careful where you go though. Don't play in a shady area at night!
Some bars and even pizza places actually reward you for putting up a Lure Module on their building, so be on the lookout for that!
3. Backup your team at gyms
So in the beginning of the game, you chose a team. Mystic, Instinct, or Valor. These are easy to tell by color. Blue, Yellow, or Red. When you pass by a Pokémon Gym, you'll notice it being one of these colors. Meaning it belongs to that team. So you have two options here. If the Gym matches up to your team, you can put a Pokémon on it to defend it(Note that if there's no slot, you'll have to level it up by battling it).
Your second option is to battle it if it doesn't belong to your team. This can be either difficult or easy depending on the CP of the Pokémon and the gym level. If the Gym is level 10, you may have some difficulty taking it. It would be better to work with a friend to take it over. However it's always worth trying either way.
Once it is taken over, be sure to tell your friends on the same team to come help back it up! The more Pokémon on it, the harder it'll be to take.
4. Get yourself a Pokémon go plus
You may think, how is this going to help me play? Well here's the thing, it's not gonna help you play. It's gonna help you play more efficiently. The Pokémon GO Plus is a wristband with a button. That's literally all it is. It connects to your phone via bluetooth and allows you to grab Pokéstops, catch Pokémon, and even walk your Pokémon while the app is in the background.
This makes playing the game a lot easier as you won't have to kill your battery life so much by having the game open all the time. It also allows you to just catch random Pokémon for candy without wasting Pokéballs. You can also use it to alert you when a Pokémon is nearby.
5. The Lucky egg trick
This game is pretty grindy compared to other mobile games. It takes a really long time to level up once you reach 25-30. Even more so through levels 30-40. Since the game came out, there's been a little trick people have been doing. It's gotten even better with the streak bonuses for Pokéstops.
All you have to do is use a lucky egg on the day of your 7 streak bonus and stock up on Pokémon to evolve. This can be Pidgeys, Eevee's, etc. Whatever you have a lot of candy for. Before you spin your Pokéstop, use the lucky egg, spin, and then evolve all the Pokémon you can. This will net you a huge amount of XP if done correctly and can be done every 7 days. That gives you enough time to stock up on candy.
